LOL. ^^
I was sad...now who is going to make me laugh? Jenah did kill it with the challenge though... I'll miss Bianca, but I'm sure we'll see her again soon. |
Thank God Bianca's gone. She was just not a CGirl material at all. Way too rough around the edges with her personality.

I am glad you guys liked my "Witch" post! ;) Good riddance, Bianca!

I really liked how she spread out the robe like a cape...it reminded me of the A-Swirl/Church fashion show three seasons ago. I will be very disappointed if Chantal doesn't win next week. Her photos are great and her personality is so sweet and natural. She's also very consistant and she's able to take criticism and use it to her advantage. She's the best to represent Cover Girl. |
While she was kinda mean Bianca was not a terrible person and she was a competitor. I dont care for either of the final 3 to be honest so it doesnt matter who wins at this point. Considering how she started Bianca did good to end in 4th place. But that advice Tyra gave her at the end.....LOL.. she could have kept that to herself.
Another weak season almost in the can to go along with Season 4,7,8 |
I have taken this off of my Season Pass. Like last season, I have no interest in who is left. I will say that Saleisha's hair in the preview is much improved over the Tootie look she has been sporting.
Jaslene still can't talk without it sounding like fingernails on a chalkboard to me. Heather won Cover Girl of the week, even though she had left the competition. IS she the only one to have won it all season? |

There was a very nice article about Heather in the NY Times:

ETA: I love that article for many reasons and this is number 3: “I wish I could get the joke,” Heather laments. “You. You’re the joke,” retorts another model, Bianca, an 18-year-old college student who is from Queens. I hope Bianca reads this and realizes that all of America noticed that it really was as mean as it sounded. |
I was happy Biance was cut, but really she was the only one left with any personality.
I don't really care who wins - all of the top 3 are good models, but no one really stands out. I think Jenah has the best chance of actually working after the show ends. Fingers crossed that next cycle will be a good one like cycle 2 or 3. |
Yay for Saleisha!
|
She really deserves it. I'm genuinely happy with the selection. I'm sure Chantal will go on to do well in modeling, too.
|
So was last night's finale the most anti-climactic ending for anyone else?
|
I was bummed that Saleisha won...I really think she has the same two looks in all of her photos. But mid-way through the episode, they played the Cover Girl commercial that the three girls shot and Saleisha was the most featured so I kinda knew she would win. :(
Also, the incident with the stilt-walker was not Chantal's fault. At judging, Tyra made it sound like Chantal ran into the guy, but I played it back and the wind blew the train of her dress into the stilts. Pick on her for her reaction, but not for something that was clearly not something she could have controlled. |

I really hope a rival cosmetics company snatches Jenah (and Lisa for that matter) up and they actually have careers. Also...Saleisha...please please PLEASE grow out that haircut. Yipes. |

Plus, Saleisha was in a national Wendy's commercial and apparently ANTM has a clause that contestants cannot have appeared in a "national campaign." |

I haven't watched all season because I lost interest. I tuned in for the finale and when I saw a white girl and African American girl, I knew the latter would win. I still believe that it's rigged.
Danielle- black Caridee- white Jasleen- Hispanic Saleisha- black I can't remember who else there was but it seems there's a little method to choosing the winner. |

Her entire head was braided into cornrows in a circular or bullseye design. They then used thread and sewed tracks of hair on top of those braids. (Just as you would sew on a piece of fabric, just a different type of needle and thread.) They then cut the hair to the style we see it at today.
I don't know if they showed the actual sewing of the hair in the makeover episode, but they showed her getting her whole head braided bc she commented on how tight it was. |

My friend commented last night on how all the winners lately have been these exotic looking girls and how she really wanted a cute, bubbly blond to win just once (CariDee is neither cute nor bubbly so she doesn't count). |
interesting point on the "why" of saleisha's hair-do.
|
I agree that she got the worst hair of them all and she didn't bitch too much, she still worked it and did her thing...I think there is some truth behind the race of the winners, just like with Idol...but as far as this cycle if Saleisha woulda beat Heather then maybe there would be an issue....but Heather was already gone...those other two chicks were not anything special as far as looks or attitude...but then again, its "reality" tv what do people expect...oh and how could anyone not know that Saleisha's hair was braided for her sew-in...it was just like the other chick Chanel...they showed it fully braided...

I wasn't shocked when Saleisha won, only because Chantal walked like she had a stick up her a$$, IMHO. |
I think Saliesha is a really pretty girl and a good walker, but she just doesn't look like a model. Jenah, Heather, Lisa and Victoria were (to me) the only ones who looked like models - tall, thin, unusual beauty. I can see Saliesha getting acting work, though.
This show really needs to decide what kind of modeling competition it wants to be - print? runway? commercial? high fashion? spokesmodeling? The days of the supermodel who does it all are over and I think it's unfair to expect these girls to be successful in every area. |
thats the thing now...you don't have to "look" any sterotypical way to be a successful model(outside of stll needing to be tiny in size)...and even above average height is not always a requirement..(Kate Moss was short)...its more about an attitude and being able to make your eyes tell a story...is ANTM the gateway to stardom for any model??? Umm no....but the ultra Euro Barbie look is not always a requirement in most markets anymore....

Bianca of Cycle 9 was a model at Fashion Week for Chris March of Project Runway! (no worries if you are watching PR - all 5 finalists did a show at Bryant Park.) Check her out at
http://nymag.com/fashion/fashionshow...ay/chrismarch/ She is the first model in the blue dress. |
Looks like Bianca's in the headlines again: http://www.tmz.com/2008/08/01/hairsp...a-bitch-fight/

Daaaaaang, Bianca's mom had to be airlifted to the hospital? Crap, that's bad.
"Tyra would be proud?" |
