What Targets do you go to? Trashy folx--naw. Casually dressed folx of all income levels--yes.

Now if you are talking about K-Mart then I would agree that the clientele can be rather unkempt.

The Walmart that I went to doesn't have groceries, and if it did I still wouldn't shop there. Ewwww, the people there look SO gross. I do my grocery shopping at Rainbow or Cub Foods. I needed toothpaste and Walmart just happened to be there so I stopped in for a second. Give me a break!

Your sentence structure did imply that you were including Target.

There are some raunchy Rainbow and Cub Foods stores, too, depending on location.

But the Cub Foods in Knollwood Mall is quite nice. Otherwise, I grocery shop at Byerly's or Kowalskis.

I should have read ahead - LOL.

UGAalum94 05-30-2007 06:55 PM

Is Cheerfulgreek even a real user ? Isn't it really Christiangirl's sock puppet for when she's being particularly unchristian? (Or was this issue resolved in a previous thread?)

J/K.

I'm really attracted to the irony of wearing a stolen WWJD bracelet, but only a stolen one and only now long after the trend.

It's okay, Ladygreek. I will hate on Minnesota for many many things, but the exceptional Targets and fabulous grocery stores will never be one of them.

cheerfulgreek should hit up the downtown Tar-jay, people are generally in suits or biz caz there AND it has the cart escalator. What more could you want?

I realize seeing it quoted that I'm implying that Christiangirl is often unchristian, and I don't think I really mean that. She just isn't as mellow and loving as I expect with that screen name.

Why do you say that? christiangirl seems cool to me.

UGAalum94 05-30-2007 08:51 PM

Oh, it's not that she's uncool. If she had a different name, I probably wouldn't have thought anything about it, but if you go with Christian in your name, I expect a constant message of love, charity, and forgiveness.

(I think the only threads I really remember her from are one in which one, either Christiangirl or Cheerfulgreek, was complaining that everyone thought they were the same, and the other one was the one where she wanted her actual degree at graduation and was mad about someone goofing it up. Nothing really bad in either. )

I know, everyone gets those two mixed up.
I wonder which one was complaining? Which thread was that one? See, I've only seen positive posts from christiangirl. No ones perfect though. We all fall short sometimes.

Oooh, I went to that one when I was in Minneapolis last summer. It also has a bunch of things that aren't at other Targets. (They had the full Boots line on the shelves well before it came to Target around here!) That Target rocked. :D

I dunno, just seems like customer service isn't too high a priority anymore. Then again, this was at Wal-Mart so maybe if they paid their employees a bit more, they'd be happier to help and oh, do their job.

I work at a grocery store and they tell us never to do that. We just add the time onto the end of our break if we have to help a customer. Afterall, we are in uniform.

From cashier to customer ~ People, please have your form of payment ready when you hit the register! Write out your check, take out your card, pull out your money or w/e. Life is easier.

~ Please don't stan there annd watch me bag if there is no bagger present

~ Stop your kid from stealing candy and running around the store

~ Yes I do have to scan a certain number of items per minute or I will get fired

~ Even though I ask, bagging plastic is easier than paper

On Walmart ~ Cheerful, maybe it was the specific one you went to. I live near 3 Walmarts. At any given time at Walmart A you can see women in sweat pants, wife beaters, with their hair tied up. It's pretty hood/ghetto up in that spot. I try to stay away out of that one especially on the 1st and 15th. However at Walmart B it's pretty classy. It's mostly casually or well dressed people. Walmart C is a good mix of A and B. I didn't even know it was there for a while.

Kevlar281 05-31-2007 12:27 AM

I do most my shopping at 24 hour grocery stores to avoid a lot of the problems that people have posted in this thread.

PrettyBoy 05-31-2007 12:35 AM

Looks like everything has calmed down on this thread.:)

I don't like seeing people I know that I don't want to be bothered with at the grocery store. That's what I don't like.

If I was a medical doctor and you were my patient, I would tell you to sign up for Jenny Craig and come back and see me in 6 weeks. Once I do become a vet please don't bring your dog in, because I wouldn't be able to tell you two apart.

The kind of doctor you totally need to see is a shrink. Any woman who starts a relationship with a loser who wears panties to bed needs psychological help, you and your perverted sex offending men.

You need to get over your sheltered self. Woopity do dah day. I'm a big girl! At least I have some fucking common sense and don't have every GCer telling me I'm an idiot. How do you really feel about yourself when you come on here and read all the comments people write about you? You are the laughing stock of GC. I'd rather be fat and ugly then a dumb ass like you. And you really need to get over my relationship business. Seriously it's really fucking annoying when you twist things around. Guess what? The guy with the panties I met in real life and isn't a sex offender.

I live in an area with 2 different Walmarts. The one closest to me is filled with people from the middle and upper class neighborhoods in my city. The other one (on the other side of town) is so ghetto; I never go there, because I'm worried I might get shot or something (seriously, you have to worry about that). The ghetto Walmart also had a customer give birth in the bathroom, then throw the kid in the toilet. Talk about trashy :eek:

SydneyK 05-31-2007 01:01 AM

This thread is so much fun. I don't even know where to start.

First, to whomever was banned from WM for stealing a WWJD bracelet; I bet you're reminded of your indiscretions whenever you don said bracelet. Plus, I suppose the WM management in that town decided that being banned from WM isn't any worse than being sent to hell. And anyone who would steal a WWJD bracelet is obviously going to be a little warm in the afterlife, so might as well make it official.

Second, the pics are great. Love 'em all!

Third, christiangirl, please stop making EVERY thread about you. You're not the center of GC. You're in Fargo, for crying out loud.

Lastly, I hate it when people park their cart in the middle of the aisle, and study the shelves looking for that one item... holding up traffic in both directions. I wish grocery stores had express aisles in addition to the express check-out lanes.

That is all. For now, anyway.

Lol, mellow and loving? I'm a Christian, not a hippy. :p Don't worry, I wasn't offended like PB said I would be--I knew what you meant. With an SN like mine, I knew people would expect me to be all "peace and love" or a number of other stereotypes there are about Christians (judgemental, preachy, etc.) I'm very much an individual and don't fit into any one category, so I purposely chose this SN so that (over time) people would see the "Christian" in my name and link it to an actual human being, not a stereotype. I've been here 2 years and it's only beginning to happen. :D

As for grocery stores....I hate when people are in front of me in the self checkout and they don't know how to work it. Or when I'M using it and it flashes the "Wait for assistance" message and NOBODY comes. Not only does it hold me up, but it plays with my abadonment issues. ;) ETA: Umm...while I'm on the subject of stereotypes, I'd just like to point out that I shop at Wal-Mart. For heaven's sake, I just bought "The Fighting Temptations" for $4.88. Don't fight the roll-back.

I've asked John to change my user name twice. Still hasn't happened. We're the outcasts of GC Jon!

Overland Park...where that korean teenager stabbed her mother to death right? Esmie?

Cheerful-I'm actually offended by your comments about guys who like women's underwear. It may seem weird but there's nothing wrong with it. I have a good friend who does it because he simply finds them more comfortable. He's also a second degree black belt in taekwondo, in the military and one of the most loyal, honest people I know. Everyone has their quirks and that particular one doesn't harm anyone.
Vet school huh? The one thing I have heard is that it will put you in as much debt as medical school but it will take a vet their entire lifetime to repay it because you make about $30-40k a year tops.
