did anyone catch hillary duff's performance in tha harem pants? she seemed totally bored to my daughter and me-like she really wished she wasn't there.

ZTAngel 07-13-2007 05:16 PM

She was lip synching too and I don't understand why since she wasn't dancing around at all and getting out of breath. She stood there and did a few arm movements and then shook her hips a little. That was the extent of her performance.

LeslieAGD 07-19-2007 08:15 AM

Danny and Anya were great this week!

It was weird last night though...Dan Karaty actually did a good routine, and Mia Michaels did kind of a sucky one.

FSUZeta 07-19-2007 08:38 AM

isn't that funny-i really liked the mia michaels routine-but i have never had a dance class in my life-i just knows what i likes :)

my faves last night were pascha/sarah(is that her name?), neil/lauren, and anya/danny.

can't wait until tonight.

KDAngel 07-19-2007 12:42 PM

What an interesting week -- Mia's routine was so very not-Mia like, but I still like it nonetheless. I loved when the host asked what it was supposed to be about. I'd have paid money for a good answer, cause it sure wasn't a crazy plumber and police to me. :p

Anya and Danny are good, sure, but neither of them interest me whatsoever. It doesn't help that they keep getting "grown up" dances instead of "fun" stuff, because they seem like the old couple of the show.

I loved Pascha last night. He continues to grow on me.

Sabra and Dom were good, but not omg spectacular. They've become a very fun couple to watch though and I love their clips before they dance.

With that said, Lacey and her partner (can't remember his name), use the clips so well. I think she's learned what Benji seemed to understand -- if you can make the people like you as a person, they'll like you that much more as a dancer and they'll forgive you more easily when you screw up because they still like you.

I still like Neil, a lot. Lauren can go though. I'm tired of her.

I don't even remember Jamie and Hok's Mr. Bojangles thing -- they bore me.

Girls to go: Lauren or Anya
Guys: Hok

KDAngel 07-19-2007 11:17 PM

Man, I think I tapped into the minds of 14 year olds everywhere, because I saw this bottom 3 coming from a mile away. Moreover, the cuts were obvious to me too. Let's just say, I'm happy with how things turned out.

SoCalGirl 07-20-2007 02:02 AM

Hok's my boy but out of the bottom three I was fine with him going. I really wanted Lauren to go until I saw her solo. :) Good thing Anya was #2 on my list to go home. Kamron is the next guy I want to leave. I still want Lauren to go home before the other girls.

ZTAngel 07-20-2007 07:48 AM

I wanted Lauren gone. Oh well. I could tell Anya was gone the second Mary came back from the vote-off discussion. She looked pissed!

LeslieAGD 07-20-2007 08:47 AM

I get more and more annoyed with this show each week. I am ready to take it off my DVR listing.
I am giving it one more chance...if stupid moron Lauren doesn't go next week then I am done!

Me too. It used to be my favorite show. Now I'm just super annoyed the the judge's are pimping up contestants that aren't that special and bring down the contestants that are great!

Exactly so! Also, I do actually like the bottom three/dance off format, but they shouldn't just base their decision on the dance off. This is the second time that Lauren should have gone home, almost all her weekly dances have sucked and last time she was in the bottom, she wasted half her time taking off her stupid jacket...and this time, instead of booting her, they blew sunshine up her ass and said she gave what the judges were looking for...WHAT?!?

I am just fed up!

DELTABRAT 07-20-2007 05:09 PM

I thought I was the only one who thought this season sucked. Last season was so much better. I don't really care who wins, where as last year I watched every week fingers crossed (well, that's a bit exaggerated, but you get the picture)....

Cat or Kat or whatever is getting on my nerves, too...

LeslieAGD 07-25-2007 10:29 PM

I enjoyed most of the dances tonight, and the solos were interesting. They all looked very different even though it was the same dance.
I think Kam and Jaimie will go this week (granted, I think a certain obnoxious other girl should go first).

KDAngel 07-26-2007 12:12 AM

Jamie and Cam were my least favourites of the night. Dom didn't do too much for me either...

If Lauren's the "obnoxious girl" you were referring to, I think she did quite well tonight. For week's I've not liked her, but she was much more alive and impressive tonight for me.

Lacey and Sabra are still my faves -- we just might have a girl win this season yet! :D

SoCalGirl 07-26-2007 02:50 AM

I really didn't like them all doing the same solo. Instead of enjoying the dances I found myself actually trying to critique them! :( Plus, quit letting Wade Robson speak. He can choreograph and dance like hell but he's pompous so please muzzle him!

Lastly, QUIT IGNORING HEIDI!!!!!!! I swear, if she doesn't get to choreograph something I'll be upset. If they say a single word about her assistant, I'll be PISSED.

yangstar 07-26-2007 04:44 AM

Lacey is pretty awesome.

CarolinaDG 07-26-2007 09:20 PM

What was the deal with Mia's jacket?

Last night, she was wearing a Marine's dress blue jacket that had the chevrons (patches) in the wrong place and upside down. The message boards at Fox.com was filled with some very upset Marines.

SoCalGirl 07-27-2007 01:11 AM

Last night I couldn't figure out what was "off" about her jacket. I'm glad it wasn't just me. :) I'm so sad Jaimie is gone. :(

KDAngel 08-01-2007 11:22 PM

So Mia's dance she choreographed for Lacey and Neil... beyond beautiful. Mia Michaels is hands down my favourite choreographer... she's just beyond amazing.

I want to see Lauren and Dom go tomorrow.

violetpretty 08-02-2007 12:11 AM

Wow Pasha and Sabra were on fire tonight! I wonder why Broadway and Quickstep were on the same card though, because they're kind of similar styles. You'd think you'd want each card to have 2 very different styles on them. I liked the Tango that Danny and Sara did and also the Mia Michaels piece performed by Lacey and Neil.

I also would like to see Lauren and Dominic go tomorrow. Despite their improvement tonight, they are still at the bottom. After they are gone, there are 3 very solid guys and 3 very solid girls left so it will be interesting to see what happens.

ClassicBeauty 08-02-2007 12:17 AM

Am I the only one that's totally disgusted by Dominic and Lauren's kiss at the end?

I hope they go.

So, I think it was a lovely piece. But I think the backstory made people think it was a lot better than it really was. I mean, they did a good job and all, but I don't think people would have been as moved by it and thought it was so great if the intro piece had just said, "It's about reunion." I enjoyed it, but didn't think it was as great as everyone else did.

The Boradway and QuickStep comments - they aren't actually similar at all. Those 2 pieces just happened to be similar. The Quickstep is a couples dance and has a lot to do with the posture/hold and rhythmic foot movement. Broadway can be anyting. That piece happened to be fast and have some "swing" type movements like that particular quickstep had. If it had been more like a number from West Side Story, it would have looked completely different from the Quickstep perfromed.

All that said, I'd like Lauren and Dom or Neil to go home.

YES.

Agreed, but don't you think the choreographers already had the dances done, so knowing that they would be similar, they should have separated them?

That's a good point - but I wonder if they have any clue what the others are doing? The show should make a point of it, but with only a week in between live shows and the busy lives the choreographers have outside of this show, maybe they don't get them on the same page?

Glad Sarah and Dom are gone. Would have preferred it being Lauren, but I think next week is her week.

Also, random note, the red-headed lady who assists the ballroom guy (she also danced with Pasha when his partner got sick) was on What Not To Wear. She seemed really funny and cool on that, but she seems a bit bitchy on this show...Maybe b/c they give the assts. no recognition!

stagebear 08-03-2007 05:05 PM

i think the choreographers have a few dances in their head for the week and then decide which one to use when they know which dancers they have. like i think the rhumba would have been a different piece if lacey or pasha had picked it.

violetpretty 08-03-2007 09:39 PM

I was sad to see Sara go, but if she didn't go this week, she would've gone next week.

I was thinking the same thing.

Lauren is my next obvious girl to go, but I don't know which of the guys should go. I dislike Danny's personality, but he's a beautiful dancer.

LegallyBrunette 08-09-2007 12:29 PM

I wish the judges would critique the solos, too.

I really didn't understand the hype over Danny & Lauren's contemporary routine. It started out good, but then they wasted all that time running up the stairs and across the catwalk. I hope they both go next.

I'm with you on both comments. And I didn't like Danny and Lauren's contemporary routine AT all. I just didn't understand how it was good.

I LOVED Sabra and Neil's "dealing-making" routine. Jazz maybe? Either way, they were both amazing. And unlike the rest of the forum, I continue to like Neil.

violetpretty 08-14-2007 12:43 PM

WHY PASHA?!?! Well that seals it, a girl will definitely be winning this season.

LeslieAGD 08-14-2007 12:56 PM

I am very bummed about Pasha, but thank goodness the dumb girl is finally off my TV screen!

SoCalGirl 08-15-2007 03:51 AM

PASHA COME BACK!!!! :(

Did anyone see the tour last season? Is it worth the $35-$50 ticket price?

FSUZeta 08-15-2007 05:08 PM

the finale is tonight, right?

ZTAngel 08-15-2007 10:04 PM

I wasn't as impressed with the dances this year as I was last year. I wasn't wowed by any of them the way I was last year with the Heidi/Benji Salsa and the Travis/Benji Hip Hop.

What was up with Wade's fox routine??? Random.

I want Sabra to win but I think it will be Lacey.

stagebear 08-15-2007 10:23 PM

i thought the lacey/danny waltz was gorgeous and the lindy hop was great.

I agree with you on the whole not impressed thing.... I thought last year's was wayyyy better (i think the dancing was too though...)

I want sabra to win but i think it'll prob be lacey too.

KDAngel 08-16-2007 01:05 PM

I wasn't a Benji fan last year (I don't appreciate solo swing), but I LOVED Travis. This year I liked Lacey the most for a long time (despite my swing distaste), but now I don't know who I want to win, prob not Lacey though.

Sabra's just awesome... And then Neil and Danny both have that amazing male dancer thing, were everything they do just looks beautiful and amazing. I actually like the two guys better. And between them, I like Danny's technique, but Neil's personality. :)
