It's official.
Paris surrendered herself to police a few days before the June 5th deadline and is now in custody.
She was smart. She didn't turn herself in at the Lynwood Prison right away. But TMZ was fast and quick! |
I am glad she actually has to serve her sentence even though I doubt she will serve the whole thing...I saw a report on TV that she is in a private cell and wing for special needs inmates...or more commonly known as celbs...

Poor Paris:
Sarah Silverman really ripped her. ETA: http://thesuperficial.com/2007/06/pa...ned_by_sar.php |

The best part about the MTV Awards was when Silverman said something along the lines of "well Paris Hilton is going to jail" and the entire crowd was pretty much cheering and clapping. Her complete rip on her shortly after was great, but that opening announcement was classic.
|
my question is...will she be able to shrug it off afterwrds like it didn't happen or will there be any 'celeb ramifications' ? I mean look at martha stewart heh....she did a few months of jail and she still got a tv show....hehehe..next thing u know...u cant be a cool celeb unless u did jail time....
|
Actually, I think being in jail will give her "street credit" and she will start doing rap videos and carrying a gun.

Trust me when I say that I don't like the girl just like everybody else, but I have admire her for having such thick skin. She knew she was probably going to be the butt of jokes regardless of whether or not she attended the MTV Movie Awards, but she went anyway -- and kept a straight face when Sarah Silverman (and the audience) ripped her a new one.
The whole world already got to see her cha cha...so this incident probably didn't even embarass her one bit. |
I agree with you. It takes a little skill to maintain a lack of response to a serious insult. And Sarah Silverman really insulted her. At a party those would be fighting words.
Plus, she knew she was on her way to jail so she had to be a little shaken on the inside. She handled the entire night with aplomb. Hats off to Paris. Quote:

I dunno.........when they zoomed in on her after everybody started clapping/laughing/cheering we all thought she looked like she was about to be in tears.
|
Ahhhh Paris Hilton is so lame! Lil' Kim definately gets more street credit than Paris any day. She'll be out before she can blink. Luckily for her she won't be in general population.
|
I'd rather be a billionaire heiress than someone with street cred any day.
She has enough $$$ to pay people to have street cred for her. |

Fixed that for ya. |
I just heard on Fox News that Paris was released early this morning to in-home confinement with an ankle monitor for 40 days due to medical reasons! WTF?!?! I am so sick of her and the news media who make her out to be this huge celebrity.

Anyone else, any where else would be going no where. And would have had a rather good/high chance of even spending more time then she was sentenced to. For more: Paris Hilton out of jail for medical reasons Thu Jun 7, 2007 2:56 PM ET By Steve Gorman LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Hotel heiress Paris Hilton was let out of jail and put under house arrest on Thursday after serving three days of a three-week sentence, sparking a debate over whether fame worked for her or against her. Officials said Hilton, 26, a symbol for many of the privilege and excesses of American celebrity culture, was released from jail for undisclosed medical reasons but was fitted with an electronic ankle bracelet to track her movements and ordered confined to her house for the next 40 days. http://today.reuters.com/news/articl...ON.xml&src=rss Paris Hilton out of jail Story Highlights • NEW: Paris Hilton under house arrest, will wear ankle bracelet • NEW: "Medical considerations" led to new arrangement • Hilton served five days in jail, according to spokesman • "Celebutante" was convicted of violating probation LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) -- Paris Hilton was let out of jail Thursday morning, days after she began serving what was to have been a 45-day sentence for violating probation, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said. Hilton must wear a monitoring bracelet and remain at her home for another 40 days, said sheriff's department spokesman Steve Whitmore. Medical considerations "played a part" in the decision to offer Hilton home confinement for the remainder of her sentence, Whitmore said. (Watch Whitmore detail Hilton's dealhttp://i.a.cnn.net/cnn/.element/img/...icon_video.gif) He said privacy rules prohibited him from giving details about the medical issues, but celebrity Web site TMZ.com earlier quoted sources saying Hilton was refusing to eat much of the jail food served her. http://www.cnn.com/2007/SHOWBIZ/TV/0...ton/index.html Hotel Heiress Paris Hilton Confined to Home in West Hollywood for Next 40 Days Thursday , June 07, 2007 http://www.foxnews.com/images/foxnews_story.gif ADVERTISEMENTget_a(300,250,"frame1"); If Paris Hilton finds herself longing for the 12-foot-by-8-foot cell in Century Regional Detention Facility that was her home for three days and nights, the hotel heiress probably won't have a hard time finding a cozy-yet-comfortable space to pass the 40 days remaining on her home confinement. Somewhere in Prison Hilton — the 2,707-square-foot, four-bedroom, three-bath luxury hideout nestled on a tree-lined street in West Hollywood to which she's been "transferred" — the celebutante might find a hot tub or two of comparable size. That's not to say she won't have tough times in the $2 million Mediterranean-style manse. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,279095,00.html http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19091578/ http://www.tmz.com/ |
