Based on the AOPi at Bama thread, I think everyone's waiting for a more reputable source...

bamaaopi 08-19-2007 07:40 PM

reputable? How much more reputable can you get? I just got off the phone with 3 of my sorority sisters who CLEARLY stated that quota at each house was 80, and that we in fact made quota. but whatever

Alabama sorority advisors, alumnae who participated in recruitment, current collegiate members...specifically those who have been on GC long enough to be deemed trustworthy who think it's in poor taste to discuss the different tiered groups on a campus.

bamaaopi 08-19-2007 07:52 PM

okay well i just went in active for a semester just this fall semester ill be back in it in the spring, and i did help with recruitment, i helped the alumane during ice water teas.. but oh well

bamaaopi 08-19-2007 07:54 PM

ORLY?

How can you go inactive and be back in the Spring if you've already graduated?

Your stories are not quite lining up...

blackngoldengrl 08-19-2007 08:02 PM

i don't usually get involved in these types of situations, but....

^^^ tee hee @ being called out on going inactive vs. just graduating....

Regina Filangie 08-19-2007 08:13 PM

No need to get nasty guys. Zillini already said that quota was 73 + 7 and she's a chapter advisor so clearly bamaaopi has the right information. I won't comment on anything else, other than she wasn't the person who instigated the tier discussion on the other thread and as a newbie probably didn't realize that it's frowned upon to discuss that kind of stuff on greekchat.

And that's fine... quota was 73 +7, great. She also mentioned that all houses got quota. If that's indeed true, then even better.

But it's kinda interesting that she hasn't said a peep since her inconsistency was pointed out.

If you did help the alums with ice water teas, you would not have needed to come to greekchat to see Bama recruitment results as noted in another one of your posts. You could talk to them yourself and find out that way.

You might want to host that pic on your own. The Recruitment Forum mods don't allow hotlinking.

what does that mean?

It means linking a picture from a website that's not yours. It eats up bandwidth and can bog down the sites (both the one where the pic is hosted and the one where it's linked).

If you want to post a pic, it's preferred you save it to your desktop and then upload it to a photo-hosting site of your choice (photobucket, flickr, tinypic, etc...).

Say you go to a website and find a pic you like. You usually right click and copy the URL to post here, right? That's stealing somebody else's bandwidth. If you're going to use somebody else's picture, it's better to post a link instead of the picture, at least in this forum. Some people have accounts that have limitations on how many times their pics can come up, and especially for those who PAY for bandwidth...that's not cool when people steal.

You're fine if you host your own pics -- PhotoBucket, TinyPic, Flickr, etc.

In her case, she used FaceBook pics. But there's no way to tell if those pics are actually hers.

That's what happens when I try to eat lunch and type at the same time. You beat me to it! ;)

I don't know how many times I got those "bandwidth exceeded" images on my MySpace and LiveJournal. Turns out the collegians were posting my event pics on THEIR own MySpaces from my web hosting service even though I was the one footing the bill for the online space. They got a lecture from me after that. :p

cuteASAbug 08-23-2007 07:04 PM

Thank you. Now I feel like a moron for all of the pictures I've posted in sorority mascots thread. Time to go register for an account.

irishpipes 08-25-2007 08:55 PM

Do you happen to have those charter years?

DZHBrown 08-25-2007 10:47 PM

Delta Zeta -

Texas A&M - Quota 53, 54 new members
Fort Hays State University - 10 new members, quota unknown
Angelo State - Quota 18, 18 new members

DZHBrown 08-26-2007 02:27 PM

U of South Carolina - Delta Zeta...71 was quota, 76 new members

twinkle555 08-26-2007 03:49 PM

AOII at USF

Quota was 26+3...29 new members!

DZHBrown 08-26-2007 08:50 PM

Arkansas Tech - Quota was 7
DZ - 9
ZTA - 4

Clemson - Quota was 46
DZ - 49

irishpipes 08-26-2007 10:09 PM

Interesting to look at the results from Arkansas Tech. Last year quota was 20, this year it is 7. Only 2 NPCs on campus, and one took quota plus, the other is under quota, yet a new group is expected to colonize in 2009. Hmmm... Doesn't seem like they have enough interest for 1 sorority, let alone 3.

Only 23 women signed up for recruitment this year, which was WAY below what it has been in the past. House total is 65 and I know Delta Zeta is about 10 below that. I'm not sure what ZTA's total is. I do wonder about bringing another chapter on campus with the questionable climate of Greek life. Maybe it will step up next year?

DZHBrown 08-26-2007 11:36 PM

U of Tennessee - Delta Gamma has 49 new members. Not sure what quota was yet. Should know tonight or tomorrow.

U of Missouri - KC - Q was 21 and DZ has 21 new members

Actually, Phi Mu is re-colonizing this year. They are absorbing a local. Alpha Gamma Delta is supposed to colonize in 2009. I do not know if the local was part of NPC recruitment this year.

DZHBrown 08-27-2007 09:04 AM

I could be wrong, but I don't think the local was part of the NPC recruitment this time around. The girl I talked to said that there were only 2 groups in recruitment. They usually have around 60 go through recruitment, so she said 20 was a big surprise!

DZHBrown 08-27-2007 09:04 AM

East Carolina University- Delta Zeta met quota with 16 women

DZHBrown 08-27-2007 10:46 AM

Nicholls State University - Q was 19, 19 new members
