The younger sister of a friend is, at a midwest school, and the daughter of one of my neighbors is considering it at undisclosed CA state college.

No, you're not!!:p

There are several girls from my area going through rush at a Southern university. They all have recs for each sorority. I know that I'll definitely get updates on one of the girls, and I'll make a rush thread for her. If I get updates on any of the others, I'll include them as well, but probably will only know end results on most of them. I'll start a thread for "Sweet Tea" soon!

Jill1228 07-30-2007 04:27 PM

Got it! Thanks!

Go ahead, girls... Throw caution to the wind.

It's true, everyone loves a trainwreck.

Hey all! My niece will be going through recruitment in a few weeks, and I can't wait to see where she ends up! A number of her friends will be going through as well at various schools. I'll keep you posted on where everyone ends up!

Jill - thanks for keeping up with all of this - I love the stories, and this forum makes it so easy to track!

DZHBrown 08-03-2007 12:05 PM

I have another....my rec girl at UGA

dvs-dz 08-03-2007 05:20 PM

I'll add a rec girl at Auburn. Since I'm good friends with her mother, I know I'll hear her outcome!

elainebenice 08-04-2007 12:11 AM

My little sis is rushing at Auburn. She moves into her dorm tomorrow. I think she's beginning to get major pre-rush anxiety.

War Eagle!!

I enjoy doing the tally every year

NOTE: Results will be coming in soon. Since my mom and sister will be visiting (first time out West EVER) it might take me more time to update. But I WILL be checking on a regular basis and I WILL update.

Just hang in there, I will take care of you!

Rush 2007

To all of you rushing this fall (2007)...best of luck to you. Whatever greek organization you choose (and remember, YOU are choosing just as much as they are), it will be the best place for you. Rush is the most stressful part of the whole thing. Once you find a sorority/fraternity that suits you, the rest is nothing but fun and friendship. I swear. I am almost jealous to read about all the people starting out now. Those days were some of the best of my life (but it was a long time ago for me).

Keep your smiles on. Ask questions to the members who are introducing you to their sorority sisters/fraternity brothers. Chances weigh heavily in your favor that you will land in the right place. If you don't find the right fraternity/sorority, then remember that a year on campus getting to know different members of different greek organizations is much more valuable than rush week. Don't lose faith. And if you decide not to pledge as a freshman, there are plenty of other organizations that are not Greek-related that you can join until you decide if going Greek is even for you.

Anyway, the main point of my post was to offer encouragement to those who are braving the course of recruitment week, wherever it is. I swear, the week will end, and you will probably end up really glad that you did it.

Good luck to all of you!

Pike/PhiDeltmom 08-14-2007 08:19 AM

My best friends wonderful/beautiful/funny daughter at FSU. She's all set from recommendations to wardrobe, but her enthusiasm and open-minded attitude should be her greatest asset.

Jill1228 08-15-2007 01:48 PM

I WILL GET TO YOU

I know the results are really gonna start rolling in. My mom and sister are coming from VA tonight to visit. I haven't seen them in over 5.5 years so it might take me a bit to update because we will be doing some traveling. But never fear. I WILL be checking the forum on an almost daily basis and I WILL update ASAP

feel free to PM me results

Thanks in advance

JILL

PS I am updated for today so far :D

mystikchick 08-16-2007 07:01 AM

I think AlexMack posted in the Auburn thread saying someone from her neighborhood went KKG :)
Also, I just noticed this in the 2007 UGA rush thread - page 5:

So far of the nearly 40 rec requests we processed this summer, none of the girls have dropped out: at GaSouthern we had 2 Kappas, 2 AOPis and 1 Zeta; at Auburn, we had 1 TriDelta, 1 Kappa, 1 DG, 1 AChiO, 1 ChiO, 1 KD, 1 Gamma Phi and six DZs.

Soliloquy 08-16-2007 01:26 PM

Just wanted to add that 3 girls I know from their big sister's rushed at Auburn and got bids!
