YAYAYAYAY!!! I am SO excited for this, as I just recently transferred this spring from app state to uga, and boone is dear to my heart!!! Its good to know that the greek life there is evolving more, with the addition of two fraternities and soon to be another sorority :) I have multiple friends who are greeks there, and i'm super excited to see how this evolves!!

has there been any update on this?

MaggieXi 04-04-2008 02:15 PM

I know that its up to the school and the orgs to submit their package for consideration and all that. But I just need to put it out there that I would really like to see Alpha Xi Delta at least submit to be considered. I know that there is a lot of focus right now for the recol of the Kappa Chapter in Illinois, which is a huge undertaking, but I think that App State is a great school and AXiD has done a lot of expansion in NC over the last few years and this would be a great addition.

off my soap box now.

Sororities will be presenting later this month, and the final decision will be made before the end of the semester.

SWTXBelle 04-04-2008 04:49 PM

Do we know who is presenting?

yeah.:) i had to change my name for the recruitment story due to the obvious knowledge of where i was...i posted before asking for advice with this name and i didn't think about it before i considered that i might post my recruitment story. so i had to change it. it would've made everything very, very, very non-anonymous.

edit: i also just realized that i posted earlier on this one with ausguals. dangit. i stink.

Definitely a smart decision. Can't wait to hear updates on extension at App State!

I'm super excited about this! I'm in the Boone, NC area quite frequently and my boyfriend's mother is the Membership Advisor for ADPi (and a Charter Member!) at App.

She mentioned that I believe Tri-Sig/Tri-Delt/Something Tri and Alpha Gam were possibly involved...that is about all she knew at the time...

I would love to have an Alpha Gam chapter at our rival school!

PRESENTATIONS!!!

You guys ready for some new news?? I am kind of surprised that someone didn't beat me to the punch. There will be two definite presentations at Appalachian. There is the possibility of a third group, if it can be arranged on short notice. The groups presenting for sure will be..............

ALPHA OMICRON PI

and

ZETA TAU ALPHA

Zeta's presentation will be next week on the 17th. I am unsure of the specific date for AOPi. The third group has not been announced yet. I absolutely could not be more thrilled!! LET'S GO 'NEERS!

APhi4Ever 04-10-2008 03:39 PM

The best of luck to all the groups presenting!

MaggieXi 04-10-2008 04:26 PM

Alpha Xi Delta will be presenting at Georgia College and State University in about 2 weeks. **Keeping fingers crossed**

That's great news - ZTA just joined the campus four years ago.

WOW!!! Thanks so much!

AppGreekGirl 05-01-2008 01:25 AM

It is true that Alpha Omicron Pi is coming. Someone told me they are contacting the organization tomorrow to make it official! Woo hoo!

And although I'm extremely late to this board I want to say that at Appalachian there are three sororities UNDER total right now, not just one... AOPi is going to have a lot of women to choose from because I think a lot of women were having trouble finding their place in the Greek system here.

PhiMuForever 05-01-2008 02:03 AM

You are exactly right AppGreek, My best friend is in Phi Mu there and they are only 10 or so members away from total. They aren't the smallest on campus anymore by any means.

go phi mu~ love, honor truth.
