the rings from chi-o creations are badge converters sort of..like you put your badge on it, and it stays on to become a ring..how it stays i don't know..but it does :)

sue- what did nationals do to you for altering your grandmother's badge??

MaryMayXO 12-13-2001 01:23 PM

I am getting a badge ring for Christmas! I am so excited. One of our NCs showed me how you use it, and it kinda just slides on the ring and you clasp it. There's also a guard so it wont fall off. :D

You'll have to let us know how you like it!

Trivia Question!

Okay...it's finals week for me and my brain isn't capable of handling too much so I'm throwing out a pretty easy question to get things going around here!

Chi Omega's 1st Chapter is known as the ________ Chapter, while the Chapter you enter into after death is known as the ________ Chapter.

A) Alpha
B) Omega
C) Psi
D) Chi

Good Luck!;)

Hootie 10-08-2003 02:00 AM

BUMPED!

- We have a lot of newer faces here on the board so I thought I'd revive a famous thread that we used to love-

Feel free to add questions :) Good Luck!

NutBrnHair 10-08-2003 11:33 AM

Oooooo...I love trivia!

Here's a tough one:

When our new colony is installed at Washington University, what will the chapter name be?

xo_kathy 10-08-2003 02:49 PM

I *think* Tau Mu...

And I have a good question, but I want to make sure we get the correct answer for this one first!

NutBrnHair 10-08-2003 03:59 PM

We have a winner!

Yessssss...xo_kathy, you are correct! Tau Mu will be the next chapter name. Next question?

xo_kathy 10-08-2003 04:18 PM

Yay! :D

Next question:

Who was Chi Omega's first initiate?

NutBrnHair 10-08-2003 04:27 PM

Hmmm...great question. I don't know. I do know the four founders were not initiated. (Many years later Jobelle and Jean were initiated on seperate occasions; Ina & Allie were never initiated.)

Hootie 10-09-2003 12:04 AM

I'm guessing Jobelle Holcombe! Am I correct?

NutBrn!!! How many founders?!?!?!?!?! ;) :p

I actually only know the answer because back in the day when we had a pledge final, my pledge class was studying the night before but our GM was at a great party across the street at Sigma Nu. So we took a study break and went over. When the guys found out what we were studying for, one asked "Who was your first initiate?" and one of the girls who never had the answer to anything said "____ _____"! She had just read it in the pledge manual. But I won't reveal yet. Maybe some of the ladies with *ahem* more recent access to the info will answer...

Hootie 10-09-2003 12:23 PM

Kate ~ I was reading my old pledge book and it didn't give the answer but Jobell made sense more than some of the others ;)

Hootie 10-09-2003 12:33 PM

Is it Matty Craighill?

xo_kathy 10-09-2003 03:21 PM

Alright, I'll give in - so we can get another question posted.

It's Norma Wood

I don't remember learning that AT ALL!?! I wonder if it's in newer pledge books, cuz I couldn't find it in mine ANYWHERE!

Okay I'll ask a question (cuz it wasn't answered before).

Chi Omega's 1st Chapter is known as the ________ Chapter, while the Chapter you enter into after death is known as the ________ Chapter.

A) Alpha
B) Omega
C) Psi
D) Chi

NutBrnHair 10-09-2003 06:06 PM

FIVE founders!

This one is so easy, but I feel the need to redeem myself since xo_kathy thinks I don't know how many founders we have! LOL

1st Chapter: Psi Chapter
after death, the: Omega Chapter

Actually, probably the older ones. I pledged in 1995. But I swear it was in there!!!

NutBrn - I just had to give you a hard time!!!! You probably know more than the rest of us combined!! :D

NutBrnHair 10-10-2003 11:13 AM

Ready for another question?

Name the other NPC group who shares the most campuses with Chi Omega.

ucfcutie 10-12-2003 10:45 PM

Is it Kappa Delta?

NutBrnHair 10-12-2003 11:50 PM

No, it's not KD.

Hootie 10-13-2003 12:11 AM

I think this organization is up there in numbers, but I'm not sure if it's the same with number of chapters! ~ Zeta Tau Alpha?!?!

No, it's not ZTA.

Let me make sure I've phrased my question clearly. It's not who has the most collegiate chapters (or second most) -- it's the group that is on the most campuses along with a Chi Omega chapter. Am I making sense? If you looked at a list of the members of Panhellenic from the campuses where Chi Omega has a collegiate chapter -- which other NPC group would be listed most often?

Hootie 10-13-2003 02:43 AM

LOL at your signature! SO CUTE! I was humming...we'll have our reunion...there'll be toast and singing.... ;) :D

xo_kathy 10-13-2003 10:46 AM

OK, I'm going to guess Phi Mu? Only because we have such a strong presence in the South and they do as well, I would guess we share a lot of Southern campuses.

NutBrnHair 10-13-2003 11:02 AM

No, it's not Phi Mu.

Okay...let's move on to a multiple choice format!

Which NPC group shares the most campuses with Chi Omega?

a.) Delta Delta Delta
b.) Alpha Xi Delta
c.) Kappa Alpha Theta
d.) Theta Phi Alpha

Hootie 10-13-2003 08:00 PM

I'm guessing B - Alpha Xi Delta

NutBrnHair 10-14-2003 01:00 AM

Aww..shucks, no, not Alpha Xi Delta --

I think maybe I'll just give the answer, so we can move on to another question...

The answer is:

Tri Delta!

Hootie 10-14-2003 02:06 AM

WOW! That surprises me! I would have guessed Kappa Alpha Theta before Tri Delta. I guess I just figured KAT was more prominant in the south as are we  That was a good question though!

BRING ON THE NEXT ONE! I like getting stumped :)

NutBrnHair 10-14-2003 11:16 AM

First Convention

Held in 1900, the first Convention attracted 15 delegates representing 9 collegiate chapters and 1 alumnae association. What was the location of the meeting?

a.) The Greenbrier, White Sulpher Springs, WV
b.) The Peabody, Memphis, TN
c.) The Breakers, Palm Beach, FL
d.) Capital Hotel, Little Rock, AR

ChiOqt 10-14-2003 02:16 PM

Well, you take 25 years of being nuts about Chi Omega...and mix in a love of history...and you get a lot of useless information!

Oh, and no...sorry, the answer is not C.

ChiOqt 10-14-2003 02:22 PM

Mary Love Collins was a part of what local sorority at Dickenson College before she urged them to apply for a Chi Omega charter:

A. Alpha Psi
B. Gamma Psi
C. Omega Psi
D. Theta Psi

ChiOqt 10-14-2003 02:23 PM

it's the Peabody!

NutBrnHair 10-14-2003 02:27 PM

Hmmm...I don't have a clue about the MLC question. I know the chapter at Dickinson was Delta Chapter, but I don't know what the local was called. Good question, QT!

ChiOqt 10-15-2003 11:29 PM

noooooo......this thread can't die again, i'm starting to get addicted to all this extra knowledge about our oh so beloved Chi O!!!!!!

but the answer to the MLC question i posted was C....Omega Psi:D

NutBrnHair 10-16-2003 12:29 AM

QT, I looked it up, but I didn't want to "guess!" Omega Psi...that's it!

Next question?
