White shoes? Eww...socks with the rubber grippy things are so much more comfortable and you don't have to worry about slipping and tearing out a stitch...or a plug.

I am a proud charter member of my chapter of LOCKS FOR LOVE and while it was hard work, it was worth it!

I dunno, I'm way too busy with work and everything, besides, I want to be part of a group where wherever I go nationally, people will recognize the name of the salon!

EDIT!!!
Oh but that's not to mean that I'd be too busy for Britney, Jessica, Paris, Nicole or Lindsay! Just too busy to found my own!

That's ok. No matter how awkward and weird you are, there's always an HT group for you.

Could it be true??? Could there really be a hair transplant option for me? I tried on five different occasions to get hair transplants ten years ago... I was unsuccessful every time! I was always so sad when I saw all my friends coming back from the salon with their hair transplants...I gave up on trying to find my hair transplant salon "home" but the dream never died.

AXO Alum I'm so happy that you're posting your story, because I know know how easy it is to get hair transplants even after unsuccessfully trying for years. THANK YOU GC!!! Without GC I would have never known about this option for me! I'm coming home, salon! Tonight I start my new journey!!! OMGZ!!!!!111!one!!11!eleventy1!!

Please put me on the list as a PNHT (potential new hair transplantee!)! I'm so happy6 to be coming home, future transplant sisters!!!

You can't just waltz into any salon you like. There are requirements you know. For instance, what percent of your hair have you lost? We need to see pictures to best direct you.

but what if her salon requires white shoes and she hasn't bought them? I think AXO Alum should buy shoes AND socks in every color so when a salon calls her, she's prepared to run over and get her HTs!

Drolefille 10-13-2006 03:59 PM

I am reporting everyone particularly those who are so cruel as to post "Alopecia Awareness" in their signatures. This is a PHYSICAL DISORDER!

I am now leaving in a huff yet will lurk and continue to report people.

valkyrie 10-13-2006 03:59 PM

Some of you are HYPOCRATES and your self importantness is underwhelming.

Hair transplants are for everyone and they will be discussed here no matter what you or anyone else thinks of it!!!  :D

Oh my, we forgot about the SOCKS requirement.

Socks are a must. Especially with dresses and dresspants.

kstar 10-13-2006 04:00 PM

I just want to make sure that you are getting your hair transplant for the right reason.

Don't just do it to fit in with us people who have a thick, full head of hair. Do it because it was what you were meant to do.

And don't shop around- you should only get a hair transplant from some one you have a personal connection with.

tunatartare 10-13-2006 04:01 PM

My salon requires that people wear Ugg boots when getting hair transplants.

You're old and not a member of a group that HT's.

99% of everyone hates you, and you need to stay out of HT's business and their member's lives. Even if you do know the HT Past International President and have a personal vendetta against one of that HT's members. That does not give you the right to try to have her her HT's pulled out one by one!

valkyrie 10-13-2006 04:06 PM

wonder if any HTs have placed a chapter at any DeVry sites,
or have the guts to admit it?
One of these days the University of Phoenix will offer hair transplants
....perhaps one of the non-collegiate hens' clubs will
step up and offer HTs. Are there any male non-collegiate ones? I
know a few service clubs have HT chapters, but they have
not been very successful and do not have many satisfied customers.
Interesting...I counted potential sites for wanna be HTs in the
Denver area. Theoretically about 30 HT facilities could fill the bill if
no follicular requirements...but then, they could have one big citywide
transplant, servicing all who are hair-impaired...but would they count that as 30 or as one or fluctuate and how could they find a comb large enough for all this hair? They might even pass up The Hair Club for Men, Rogaine, or
Bad Toupees in numbers of hair enhancement procedures, never mind be they undergrad, grad, alum, extension, male, female, canine, feline, or what have you. This is getting kinda silly...but it s gittin' late...Cheers!

My friend valkyrie speaks the truth! :D ;)

I don't know about non-collegiates, but I know that I am very proud founding chapter member of LOCKS FOR LOVE! Even though it is a completely different process to join than HT, I still feel qualified to offer my opinion. After all, I am very close and personal friends with the Former Surgeon General who has said that HT will soon be available to all!

Exactly. This thread is someone's way of trying to make herself feel better and to gain attention. Everyone knows that the best places that do hair transplants don't publicize it. At all. They don't need to, they're just that good.

OOH I LOVE ONYX it is my birthstone I hope you get a HT soon! Just because you are an otherkin and did not fit in with any of the HT women in college does not mean you will not fit right in with the older HT women in your community!!!!

valkyrie 10-13-2006 04:29 PM

all het up H transplants

one of the reasons we "groom with a broad brush" is to avoid the
incessant "knots and tangles" so common with bushy-haired men.
So, you can point out good H transplants, yes, and for every one of them you have five bad ones. Use reason, and sometimes you
must comb and use product then pull out the good hair and let
the losers continue to bald. Is that too tough to understand, or do you
have that bur in your new hair already?
Sigma Eta Tau (Society of Hair Transplantees) and Theta Eta Tau (Women with Transplants) wanted so bad to divest
themselves of baldness...angry and hairless...can you live with that?

If I had been drinking you would owe me a new monitor. That community is the funniest thing I have EVER seen on the intarwebs.

Glitter650 10-13-2006 05:08 PM

You know seems like soo many people want HT that maybe it'd be good to move this from CC to it's own forum... what do you all think ? I mean people need a place to discuss their experiences about HT and how they felt once they felt their locks blowing in the breeze after they found the perfect salon.

I will pay for a free hair transplant for the first person who can explain this sentence to me.

People will NOT treat you with respect if you come in here with some wild story about how you're the Mother of All Things and everyone better wear a sweater.

Ummmm.... just because I don't have a personal connection with a salon doesn't mean that I wouldn't be a good transplantee. I have researched a lot of them and I know that I would be able to bring a lot to the table.

Now that I'm older and more mature, I feel that I have a lot of good things to contribute to a salon and their hair transplant program. For instance, I could even become a salon advisor at a local franchise! Also, my parents were really against me getting hair transplants at 18 so even if I had found a salon who wanted to perform my procedure I don't know if they would have paid for it.

I have had a lot of experience with other hair activities, but nothing would ever compare to the sense of belonging I would get as a hair transplantee. Yes, I was a member of such organizations like Cornrow Club and Wiggin' Out Over Wigs, but these could not compare to the pride and honor I would get when everyone found out that I got HAIR TRANSPLANTS.

greekalum 10-13-2006 05:38 PM

Oh, please. The fact that adult hair transplants exist is not ritual! JimBob posts new adult hair transplants in his bi-monthly newsletter, "HairDid Doings."

And your organization's newsletter wrote a whole article about adult hair transplants! How can it be ritual??

/persona off
You will not be respected if you act like you are everybody's mother and tell them to put a sweater on just because you're cold too.

Um...

You will not be respected if you act like you're better than everyone else and then try to make everyone else agree with you?

Before us who had no hair get all too puffed up, let us remind
you that we certainly had bald people who refused to mix with those who have hair. I recall in '56 the HT chapter got their panties all in a wad over Baldingham having a member with copious hair (I gave him my toupee). He
was a charmer, and now a multi-millionaire with flowing locks. But generally, the hair was gracious and soft, I am pleased to say.
Today, if we had a good transplant or a gentleman's hat that could cover a sizeable bald spot, perhaps
we would be right at home at The Hair Club (GO HT!) SHT founder
Cy Sperling told me by the time all the new-fangled hair-type things
came up we had already initiated an alopecian at IL Wesleyan
and wig-wearing woman at Illinois....so, we weren't necessarily entitled to beat
our chests...while this kinda ruffled my toupee, I was certainly
proud to hit the road for the Hair Transplantation Society and not have to ask if a
man was bald or whatever....(toupette) during the 50s.
It is too bad that we have taken a step backward with these old
methods of hair replacement, and we have lost a modicum of dignity and discretion.
So long as you let us old bastards rave on and on and do not ask from whence our shiny new hair has come, you might find
that within our harangues that there is something of substance and on our heads there is hair as pure as if we grew it ourselves.

I'm suspending this thread in space and time for a few days until the anger dies down and cooler heads prevail. I will release this thread from suspended animation when I feel as if both sides of this HOT BUTTON TOPIC can be heard without anyone feeling slighted or personally attacked.

Synchronize watches...thread suspension...begins...NOW!!!!

greekalum 10-13-2006 07:00 PM

Stop getting your panties in a wad!

If internet discussion of certain topics is a "hot button" for certain Hair Transplantors, then they should have a policy on it.

I feel that certain folks have greatly exaggerated how some transplant societies feel about adult hair transplants being discussed on the internet. Are they speaking for the society or just for themselves?

If it was that important, the salon would have a policy.

Did I read some where that you are a National Officer of your organization? Ah, I think you may have posted that somewhere. So you should be careful about acting all high & mighty - You know that there are people that valkyrie is talking about that knows about people getting all puffed up about the HT situation. Or are you as impotent & selfless as You proclaim to Be?

ACHIOSnap - you have made me so happy that you have chosen to join the journey. Maybe Xylo can help us both find the right place where we will fit in & fulfill our dreams of HT.

I want my jewel to be the Tiger Eye - because its the eye of the tiger (dun-dundundun-dundundun-dundundunnnn-theeyeofthetiger-dundundun-dundundun-dundundunnnn) - can't wait to get my badge!

As for shoes - I cannot wear Uggs (which is short for UGGLY) nor Crocs. And those socky things with the rubber grips - uh, no. I prefer socks though - especially with flip flops. My cousin Hickey bought me some socks once that are a different color for each toe. With those bloody white flip flops he gave me, I am stylin at my finest. Every time I wear those with my princess costume & take out my Cabbage Patch Doll, I feel like I am queen of the world. And people like me - I know that they do.

So forget you, Crazy Larry's - there are plenty of hair salons on my list that I am shopping around for that will be the best fit for me. I especially love the newest one I found who has Rapunzel for their spokesmodel & one of their members. I always check out the famous HT clients online so I will know which ones have the most popular clients. That is very important to me in finding a HT salon that fits with fulfilling my lifelong journey.

So since I am a Disney freak, I will name my current top 5 with Princess names:

Jasmine - goodness, who couldn't love this place! I mean I think that I fulfill all their criteria, and I do a lot of work for the people that they specifically cater to (even though its not something that I personally have knowledge of) - especially when I help my cousin Hickey deliver guns to people like them. He says that some people can't go into the Wal-Marts or gun shows to buy guns for themselves, so he does it for them. He is such a good guy.

Snow White - let's just say the whiter the better - I think that having pale skin & black hair is just so awesome & I would love to call myself a Snow White client. Plus their company's colors are awesome - black & white!!! Couldn't you just die?!

Cinderella - okay, so they got a few mice running around, and some crazy ass skinny guy calling himself the Fairy God-daddy (my cousin Hickey says that means it is probably a good salon) who makes all HT candidates dreams come true. I am so excited because I have put a lot of service work into working with animals, and mice just never seem to come out on top. Its sad really. So I am super excited about this place.

Aurora (aka, Sleeping Beauty - yes, she does have a real name) - OMG talk about a dream I've always wanted - this place is to die for & I think everyone searching for HT should come here first. They are the best & even though they cost more money than I have, my cousin Hickey says he can make me a loan and that I can work off the money by meeting some friends of his at the motel a couple of nights a week. He says that I can do that undercovers work he sometimes does - I think that would be so exciting since I've always wanted to be a police officer.

Belle - I mean they actually use The Beast as their mascot because they have such a successful HT business. I can't imagine having such beautiful hair like the Beast & maybe even get my nails done like his. But I don't want to get ahead of myself. I know that is a lot to hope for, but I can always hope, right?!

So that is the update for now. Thank you again for all of your help, everybody! I am so excited about my journey & fulfilling my dream!!

 Some of you act like you don't believe in unicorns and the mystical powers they grant the residents of sleepy college towns.

I have not been granted the full gift of impotency quite yet but rest assure that I'm as impotent and selfless as the powers that be have made me be. How did this HT topic become about me, anyway? I just wanted everyone to play nice. I know people take HT seriously and I am just warning you all that a lot of puppies have cried and died as a result of this thread. HT should never hurt puppies. Never.

Actually, it is. If she were meant to have nice, bushy but not too thick eyebrows, then it would've happened. No sense in trying to chase a dream that was clearly never meant to be. All you can get out of it will ever be, at most, second best.
