I'm with you on Kayte! I was hoping an alligator would emerge from the swamps and drag her under. But even so, I'm sure we'd still hear her complaining and whining from the bottom of the swamp!

I think the reason nobody likes Team Air Force is because they're so good and the biggest threat. They're in shape, smart, and level headed. They never lose their cool.

adpi*violet 08-07-2006 07:55 PM

Bump! Who is going to watch tonight?

tunatartare 08-07-2006 08:21 PM

I definitely will be.

blueangel 08-07-2006 08:25 PM

ME! Go Air Force!!!

tunatartare 08-07-2006 09:42 PM

Was anyone else cracking up when Brooke told the cars to be quiet?

adpi*violet 08-07-2006 10:10 PM

Wow! That was close. I think the producers/writers of the show should have picked a different name for the cryptix. That way the Southie Boys wouldn't have been able to just guess it based on Philadelphia, but would have had to look for the answer like the other teams.
Go Air Force!

efcheerBB 08-07-2006 10:39 PM

Tonight's ending was really close. I am so happy that the Genuises are still in it though. I loved how the teams would look at the painting and just move on. :)

AznSAE 08-08-2006 10:54 AM

i take it that the ending will be sort of like survivor. all three teams finish, but have no idea in what order. then the results will be revealed live? its just a guess.

i was hoping that the southies would have continued arguing and the other two teams come from behind and solve the clue.

Can someone recap for me? I missed it last night.

Brian Devinney's Recaps at Reality News Online are almost as much fun (sometimes more fun) as watching the actual show.

Still BLUTANG 08-14-2006 09:30 PM

i thought they said not to use the computer?!?!? did air force just cheat?

tunatartare 08-14-2006 09:53 PM

I don't think it's cheating because they said they couldn't use their computers....

anyone venture to guess what the code to the cryptex is?

I think it is LIGHT. "Oh say can you see by the dawns early LIGHT.... Also they kept showing the flames around the room which were Lighting up the room.

That's a good guess -- I hadn't though of that. I was speculating that it's SCOTT, since "the answer is right in front" and Scott is right in front of Key ("Francis Scott Key"). But light is right in front of them, too.

ooooooooooh. i was very :(  :( for a little bit last night, i kept thinking, they going to let them get to the end and then disqualify them.

as far as the cryptex, MASON was the first thing that popped inmy mind, but when the geniuses said it didnt work, i drew a blank. LIGHT sounds like a good choice!

blueangel 08-15-2006 09:09 AM

I really, really want Air Force to win. I can't believe they got so lost. It's hard to tell how behind they are because of the way the show is edited.

Excellent guess about "light"!!! I'm impressed!

It seemed pretty clear from the previews for next week that all 3 teams end up in the chamber, so I suppose it's still anyone's hunt.

blueangel 08-15-2006 09:32 AM

I hope so.. Air Force really deserves it. They've been so level headed throughout the entire hunt. I hope the southies don't win! They're obnoxious.

It's also bothered me that they've moved ahead twice by guessing without actually solving the clues. (Wiping the map of Paris with water and guessing that "Liberty" was the key to the first cyptex just because they were in the town with the Liberty Bell.) I'm all for luck, but in a hunt based on solving puzzles to move ahead, I want to see a team actually solve a puzzle to move ahead.

SydneyK 08-15-2006 11:42 AM

I wondered if the cryptex code is FSKEY (for Francis Scott Key). I like the LIGHT and SCOTT ideas too, though.

SydneyK 08-15-2006 12:51 PM

Sorry for the double post... but I just thought about this.

The Genworth Financial "hint" that started out as "I Seek Thy Reef", but was then revealed to be an anagram for "The Key Is Free" has made me think MysticCat is right about SCOTT being the code. I've never heard of something being FSKEY-Free, or LIGHT-free. But, I've definitely heard the expression, "SCOTT-free."

Maybe I'm making more out of it than they intended, but now I really think the cryptex code is SCOTT.

My DVR didn't record the ending!

Can someone tell me what happened after the Southies got to the top of Key Industries?

I always go for the underdog. Go Southies! I wouldn't mind if the Geniuses win, either...anyone but the Air Force!

madmax 08-15-2006 05:33 PM

The one guy on Air Force looks like Jeremy Bloom's twin brother.

Team Geniuses was in the chamber trying to figure out the clue to open the small cryptex without any luck, Air Force was trying to figure out where the chamber was, previews for next week's finale, and that's about it.

ShaedyKD 08-15-2006 10:32 PM

Give me a break! I thought last night was going to be the finale. I really need to start studying and be finished with my summer reality shows. Someone just tell me who wins, my money is still on Air Force.

Thanks!

I've been keeping up with the weekly challenges on the NBC.com website and they mentioned at the start of the season that they'd have a live finale, so I had a feeling this wasn't the season finale.

tunatartare 08-21-2006 09:09 PM

BUMP!

Live Finale is on NOW!!!!

ADqtPiMel 08-21-2006 10:08 PM

That was a stupid excuse for a finale.

tunatartare 08-21-2006 10:11 PM

I was hoping someone would ask Kayte Fogal "why the **** are you so annoying?"

adpi*violet 08-21-2006 10:40 PM

Very anticlimatic. Laird was definitely not as good as Jeff at directing live conversation. (Think Survivor reveals- didn't measure up at all.)

blueangel 08-21-2006 11:10 PM

That was pretty bad. They should have ended it when the Genius's found the treasure. The second hunt composed of viewers was a good excuse to do my laundry. Got my colors and whites done!

Did the young grad students come back naked?

tunatartare 08-22-2006 09:05 AM

For a little bit, I thought that the code was going to be MASON because they showed the compasses on the cryptex.

The one who figured out the code was Francis.

AznSAE 08-22-2006 11:00 AM

i sort of knew that they would win and i am glad that they did. there was a waching party last night, but i couldnt go. sam won the money for the right reason. he didnt need it, but its going to a good cause. i didnt think they would each get $1 million.

i wonder if they can leave the chamber for bathroom breaks and food?

when is the next season? sign me up!

I was pulling for Air Force, but I was glad to see Sam win after what he had been through on the race -- not least of which was having to put up with Charles. I truly hope Charles is never my doctor.

Just curious -- what's the good cause Sam is putting the money toward?
