He's a cutie. However, the do-rag and the "property of Monica Arnold" have to go.

I googled her and it is...i didn't know arnold was her last name...and definitely didn't know she was pregnant and had a baby.

Has anyone seen pictures of Brandy's baby?

I don't like to trip off of babies, but why does that hat he's wearing remind me of the hats Blossom used to rock?:o :p

SHAQ & KOBE DADS AGAIN

Kobe, Shaq Become Fathers Again
By The Associated Press

Monday, May 1, 2006

(05-01) 15:16 PDT (AP) --

Just like old times, Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal are celebrating. The former Lakers teammates became fathers again Monday when their wives gave birth to girls six minutes apart.

Gianna Maria-Onore Bryant was born at 2:03 a.m. PDT in Orange County, Calif. Kobe and Vanessa Bryant are already parents to 3-year-old Natalia.

"The arrival of our new daughter Gianna early this morning is such an incredible blessing for me and my family," Bryant said in a statement. "We are all full of beautiful emotions after such an incredible day."

Shaquille and Shaunie O'Neal became parents for the sixth time when Mearah Sanaa O'Neal was born at 4:57 a.m. EDT in a South Florida hospital.

It's the third girl for the O'Neals, with Mearah joining sisters Taahirah and Amirah and brothers Myles, Shareef and Shaqir, who turned 3 last month.

Both mothers and their new babies were said to be doing well.

Fatherhood helped O'Neal and Bryant end the feud that led to the breakup of their pairing with the Lakers. When the Miami Heat played at Los Angeles in January, O'Neal congratulated Bryant on the birth of his daughter and the impending birth of the second one.

Bryant and O'Neal are both in the playoffs. Bryant's winning shot in overtime Sunday gave the Lakers a 99-98 victory over the Phoenix Suns and a 3-1 lead in their series. The Heat and Chicago Bulls are tied at two games apiece in their series.

Bryant didn't attend practice Monday or travel with his teammates to Phoenix for Game 5, to be played Tuesday night.

"I told him not to worry about that, to come when he can and get the rest he needs," Lakers coach Phil Jackson said. "Hopefully he'll get there tonight, or if not, shootaround tomorrow.

"There's a huge emotional feeling about having a child that's just beyond belief. We're happy for him. The timing's right, he'll have some rest, but I'm sure it's not easy to sleep after all those things happen."

Congrats to both families! How cute.

But WTH @ When the Miami Heat played at Los Angeles in January, O'Neal congratulated Bryant on the birth of his daughter and the impending birth of the second one. That little girl was born how long ago and he is just now congratulating Kobe? WTH??!?!?!?!

Somehow I think my days of watching the View are coming to an end. :(

Rosie? Lawd! I believe she was chosen to get a broader audience to watch the show. The View seems to be the Susan Lucci of talk shows/hosts. Ellen won another Emmy Friday night.

This morning, BW mentioned that Rosie would take Meredith's place. Star did NOT say a word!

You know folks cannot tolerate an opinonated, educated AfAm female, especially SOME non-AfAM women.

Star will be okay if she's on TV or not....with BGA or not. :p

BV Buzz 5/1/06--News on Mark Curry

Hangin' Tough

Comedian Mark Curry ('Hangin' with Mr. Cooper') underwent surgery last week after a freak accident at his home. According to friends of the funnyman, Curry was burned severely after accidentally dropping an aerosol can near a water heater, which caused a bomb-like explosion. The blast burned the majority of his body and a small portion of his face.

At press time Curry was being treated in a burn center in Oakland, Calif., where he also underwent surgery. Despite the severity of the accident, Curry's spirits were apparently high. On his voicemail, the comic sang a medley of songs including "Fire" by The Ohio Players, "Hot In Herre" by Nelly, "Disco Inferno" by The Trammps, and the party chant "The Roof is on Fire" by Rock Master Scott and The Dynamic Three. He also asked that no one send flowers, because they're not allowed at a burn center, but asked callers to send up prayers for him and consider sending a cashmere sweater once he gets out.

Most recently, Curry appeared on the Game Show Network's 'Poker Royale: Comedians vs. Pros' and guest-starred on Kirstie Alley's Showtime series 'Fat Actress.'

Prophetess Juanita Bynum, pastor of the Global Destiny International Center in Atlanta, has signed a deal with BET to host a new talk show. Details about the show are sketchy, however those who attended her The Threshing Floor conference said that Bynum said her show would be like "Oprah Winfrey's show, but with the Holy Ghost." Bynum was previously a show host on the Christian channel TBN. No word on when her talk show will premiere on BET, but in the meantime you can catch her singing alongside 'American Idol' winner Ruben Studdard and jazz great Jonathan Butler at the UBA Carousel of the Arts recording 'Gospel Goes Classical.' The live music concert, with Dr. Henry Panion, III and the GGC Symphony Orchestra and Choir, will take place on Sun., May 7 at the Alys Stephens Center in Birmingham, Ala.

Can't Say Names…

Sources say that a newly-popular reality show star has not only broken up one relationship, but she has also been quietly having an affair with a married NBA hoops star. Sources tell me that said TV talent has been secretly sleeping with a NBA baller in between partying and making appearances with a her new rapper-boyfriend. Let's hope this love triangle doesn't cause these two pint-sized men to come to blows. HOOPZ!!!!!!

NEW YORK - Halle Berry says she wants to adopt a child — someday. "I will adopt if it doesn't happen for me naturally," the 39-year-old actress said in a recent interview with TV newsmagazine "Extra." "I will definitely adopt. And I probably will adopt even if it does happen naturally."

DUTTON'S BLACK SEPARATIST MINISERIES CONCERNS HBO

Film wonders what would happen if lower class blacks were given their own state.

*Consider the plot of the forthcoming 10-hour miniseries being developed by actor Charles S. Dutton for HBO: African Americans in a black separatist movement are given their own state within the U.S. under a multibillion-dollar reparations package.

But...

The new state must only take in the poor, imprisoned and downtrodden blacks in the U.S. The theme of the series is supposed to ponder the possibility of blacks prospering in an environment where there is no white man to blame for their predicament.

"HBO seems a little afraid of it; it's very provocative, the actor tells entertainment columnists Marilyn Beck and Stacy Jenel Smith. The cable network reportedly wants Dutton to write the story as a novel first before moving forward with a miniseries.

Dutton says that other networks have expressed interest in airing the project as is, and he will soon decide whether to stay with HBO or move on.

"With this, I'm holding up a mirror to society, and every aspect of the story actually has a historical precedent," Dutton said of the project.

In the meantime, the actor/director stars as the father of Omar Epps character in Part 2 of a special House episode airing tomorrow on Fox. The show marks their third appearance together in a film, following the TV movie First Time Felon and the motion picture Against the Ropes.

---------------
I'm confused as to why only "downtrodden" blacks can participate in this show. wouldn't it be more realistic to show a mix (college educated, high schooll only, families, singles, etc)? How is anyone (black or any race) to prosper if every situation around them is dismal?

I am taking a risk with this one, but I suspect that Dutton wants to look at poor/downtrodden AfAms because of the perception (not necessarily reality) that the "blame the man" attitudes are entrenched within those sectors.

I too love Soledad. She would have been perfect for the part, but I like to see her doing the news. I really think that she is a talent that is over looked. Ann would have been a good choice too. Ann has done excellent stories and she has co-anchored the show for many years, why not her. As far a Rosie, I did like her show, but when she was going through that mess, I kinda started not liking her. Now what are they going to do all day, sing and dance.
