trideltadarling 06-28-2006 07:33 PM

I'm biased ofcourse, but I'm going to venture a guess and say Tri Delta because we have 6 chapters in Ohio and it's a convention year...with convention being merely a few days away :-)
Ofcourse I don't know the geographic layout of Ohio to know well enough if we have chapters in the right place to be near you...

ASUADPi 06-28-2006 11:45 PM

Okay being the absolute total dork that I am (lol) the following chapters were guessed and have conventions this year. (like I said, I'm a dork)

AChiO
AGD
APhi
TriDelt
DG
DZ
PhiMu

Something in me still thinks it's DG, but I would love it to be Phi Mu (then you can be a Macon Magnolia w/the ADPi's, :D).

Like I said, I'm a dork and I just went to the national websites to find this out.

But you know, any of those 7 chapters are lucky to have you!!!!!

Jimmy Choo 06-29-2006 12:57 AM

And all 7 of those chapters listed have the required 4-12 chapters she specified earlier! I also was being a bit of a dork and wanted to see if that would help us eliminate some groups. :) Was that a complete group of everyone having convention this summer?

GeekyPenguin 06-29-2006 02:17 AM

We have 4 chapters in Ohio, 3 of which are north of 70. Therefore I have decided to guess us just because nobody else has.

ASUADPi 06-29-2006 09:18 AM

The list of the 7 chapters were ones already guessed (per her clue) and they have convention this summer (also per a clue she gave).

Yes, there are other sororities having convention this summer that have chapters in Ohio, but they were not guessed.

Now, if I missed a chapter that was guessed, I'm sorry. I just read through the entire thread and I thought I wrote them all down (actually I circled them on my list. LOL).

And like I said earlier, MJo19, any of those 7 chapters are incredibly lucky to have you!!!!!!!!

ASUADPi 06-29-2006 09:20 AM

AChiO
AGD
APhi
Gamma Phi
TriDelt
DG
DZ
PhiMu

(edited to add Gamma Phi).

Hmm do I think Gamma Phi or DG. (Brianna shrugs her shoulders).

Jimmy Choo 06-29-2006 02:01 PM

I haven't checked yet to see which of these have 4-12 chapters in Ohio but so we all have a complete list to start guessing from here is a list of everyone who has/had convention this summer.

KKG
SDT
DG
AGD
Theta Phi Alpha
Alpha Phi
Gamma Phi Beta
Kappa Alpha Theta
AST
Chi Omega
TriDelta
Sigma Kappa
DPhiE
ZTA
AChiO
Phi Mu
DZ
ASA

Now we have a list to work with when the real guessing can begin :D We've all thrown our guesses it but who knows, we could have been off.

tunatartare 06-29-2006 02:03 PM

From that list we can rule out Kappa, SDT, Theta Phi Alpha, and Chi Omega because they don't do AI except in rare circumstances (usually alumnae of an absorbed local).

Nor does ZTA unless a local has been absorbed or the person has had a strong previous connection with the fraternity in the past. So, I think you can rule ZTA out as well.

I thought that the chapter had already been guessed, hence ASUADPi's list?

adpi*violet 06-29-2006 05:26 PM

I don't think MJo gave a clue that said it had already been guessed. That was skimming pretty fast though. As far as I could tell the two clues are chapters in Ohio between 4-12 and convention this year. Comparing the 2 lists that other posters made for those two things... this is what I came up with.

Alpha Chi Omega
Alpha Phi
Alpha Gamma Delta
Delta Gamma
Delta Zeta
Gamma Phi Beta
Kappa Alpha Theta
Phi Mu
Sigma Kappa
Zeta Tau Alpha

Not familiar with Ohio geography, so I can't work that clue. That and it would take up a lot of time, which I can only spend a little time procrastinating from my homework!

Yes. Here is what she said:

"but the GLO I will be *hopefully* joining has been guessed here on this thread!"

Here is the list...

AChiO
AGD
APhi
Gamma Phi
TriDelt
DG
DZ
PhiMu

MJo19- I have to applaud your patience. I don't know how I would do it. :D
I'm hoping you get the answer you want and soon!!!! :D

Jimmy Choo 06-29-2006 09:44 PM

OOOPPPSSS..... my bad! :o

MJo19 06-29-2006 10:09 PM

I honestly don't know how I am doing it. LOL. Good things come to those who wait..hopefully the final yes or no comes soon!

Drolefille 06-30-2006 09:25 AM

Hey, I'm all for anything that keeps SK in the running ;)

LouisaMay 06-30-2006 09:39 AM

There was about a 3 week lapse from the time I sent in my paperwork and the arrival of The Letter.;) Believe me...I know how hard that wait can be.

LM

AGDee 07-02-2006 08:47 AM

I don't think it is Alpha Gam for the following reasons:
1)The day they said the paperwork was forwarded to the alum coordinator was during our convention and I was sitting by the Area Alumnae Coordinator in business meetings.
2) She would have used the term International not National.
3) We have 6 chapters in Ohio, 3 are above I-70, 2 are below and 1 (THE Ohio State University) is right along I-70. So, we're kind of half and half.

MJo19 07-03-2006 01:11 AM

I emailed with the Area Alum Coord. and she said she was personally checking on my AI Application Status....with this being a holiday weekend and all..I'm trying to relax and trying not to think about it! (easier said then done!!!):p

AGDee~I Loved the capital THE in THE Ohio State University. Did you go there?

trojangal 07-03-2006 07:02 AM

Keep busy...and try not to obsess!

Crossing fingers and sending good thoughts to you!

Bahahahaha.. nope. I went to school in the shadow of the Wolverines (Eastern Michigan University, about 10 miles from Michigan) and we are well aware of the importance of the THE to those Buckeyes. Up here, it's said in the almost sarcastic, tongue in cheek, gently mocking tone reserved only for putting down the Buckeyes, in honor of the greatest football rivalry ever, of course!:D

Also, when our Chapter Roll is done at Convention, our International Reunion Day, etc, we have been told to make sure that the THE is in there.

MJo19 07-03-2006 01:10 PM

Haha. Not "That State Up North!" as we refer to it down here! Surprisingly, the THE is left out when most people talk down here..we just call it Ohio State or OSU. Yes, being born and bred about 40 minutes from Columbus, it is programmed from birth to not like Michigan, or the colors maize and blue together...

On the AI side of things, I got an awesome message from my sponsor. I got pushed ahead in the agenda, which means, a vote could come as early as this week!

Excellent! I'm so glad that someone is personally taking care of you :)

heh, at Otterbein we always emphasize the THE, again, just joking.

scbelle 07-11-2006 03:42 AM

*bump*

Any news yet, MJo19? I think I got some of those pins and needles you were sitting on... I'm sooo excited for you to find your home. :D

MJo19 07-11-2006 12:53 PM

awwwwwww! No no news yet! I am keeping busy though. I finished a scrapbook and today I am finishing the border of my room (I'm doing that stamping thing). Not to mention the LOADS of laundry I still have yet to start lol.

MJo19 07-13-2006 01:01 PM

On a side note..there was a mouse in my hosue last night..and I have 3 cats!! One of them seemed very interested in the window by the tv in our family room, so I turned on th elights and this lil gray mouse went across the floor. Of course I screamed and jumped up on a chair, and this scared the cat away. Luckily 2 out of the 3 remembered what they were and went to action with one of them eventually obtaining the mouse. But I don't think he ate it, and I can't find the body so maybe he did..all I know is now I am paranoid lol!:o

scbelle 07-13-2006 01:18 PM

Well, I've gone a week without hot water... my home heating oil tanks are empty and I placed an order a week ago, but apparently it didn't get faxed into the right people. Sooo, I fixed that today hopefully. I've been having to take "real" showers at the gym!!! At least my lack of hot water is pushng me to go work out every day. lol!

At least some of your cats still remember what they are supposed to do..... the last time I had a mouse in my home my cats looked at and just walked away!!! They have become so lazy they won't chase bugs, mice, nothing!!

MJo19 07-17-2006 03:44 PM

I'm so so so so so nervous! My sponsor said she would call me tonight, because she is swamped at work. There was a smiley face (and lots of ....), but I am nervous and excited. Is this finally the yes/no vote? eeek!

tunatartare 07-17-2006 03:47 PM

Good luck! Sending good thoughts your way!

Drolefille 07-17-2006 03:49 PM

Double good luck! :D

scbelle 07-17-2006 03:54 PM

We're all rooting for you to find your home! :p
Is it harvest time?? Are you ripe for the picking? I'm sorry, I had to bring back the crops. I think it's too funny. :D

MJo19 07-17-2006 04:34 PM

It depends on if I am sweet corn or field corn. Since it is time for sweet corn around here, then yes I am ready to be harvested!! Field corn has to wait until about October to dry out and stuff.
~and that was your corn education for the day~

LouisaMay 07-18-2006 09:13 AM

Oh boy!!! I can't wait to here:) Fingers crossed for you.

trojangal 07-18-2006 09:32 AM

Okay...so what's the news? :)

Xidelt 07-18-2006 09:34 AM

:) {{{{{{sending good vibes!}}}}}}

MJo19 07-18-2006 10:24 AM

well...I didn't hear anything. It is a busy time of year and things pop up and all that fun stuff..I'll let you all know when I know, promise!
