They are not trying to kill TAR. They are trying to kill Courting Alex and Out of Pratice. I hope they take Yes, Dear with it, even though the other two shows are better than that one.

And I think they are responding to discontent with TAR being on at 10 pm this season. I know there has been a lot of grumbling from parents who liked to let their kids watch this show as a way of learning about the world.

That makes sense - would still prefer it at 9pm on Tuesday nights, but I guess the young'uns MAY be in bed by that time.

Yeah I'm working tonigh and can only tape 2 things on the DVR at once, so I'm gonna skip it sadly. But OTW and ANTM win for me... stupid TAR...

queequek 04-05-2006 06:55 PM

LOL I cannot believe y'all ladies will skip TAR tonight

It had some good moments, though. I loved the crack at the end -- "We're wearing a new cologne. It's called Sword."

Then there was (as usual) the tantalizing but unfulfilled hope that Lake would spontaneously combust.

But can anybody tell me what Lake and Michelle were wearing at the end? Was that some kind of wallet so the Sicilians couldn't pick their pockets?

I could NOT get over that - very bad look, Michelle! :p

My favorite moment of the episode was the "sign-in" sheet at the amphitheater :D

Haha I was wondering about what they were wearing. Was it a very secure wallet or some type of garment designed to remind them of their bond to the lord? Either way, it was very weird, and why was he not wearing a shirt?

I almost got sick at the end. I LOVE YOU I LOVE YOU I LOVE YOU MAY THE FORCE BE WITH MY LOVE FOR YOU! I am so glad they're gone -- I mean, they're nice but just ew.

I had to rewind the scene of Phil dancing to watch it again because it was THAT awesome.

I'd forgotten that - serves me right for watching the tape at 11 pm!

Definitely another of the best moments from last night! :D

that one girl crying about carrying a stinky fish was something else.

YES! No more saccharine sweet nerd love. :D Anybody recall the rankings (blah-blah & blah-blah, you're team number one...)?

It bugs that sometimes watching this show is like watching an extended commercial. Hmmmm, is travelocity.com an advertiser? Why I have absolutely no idea.

3. -- Joseph and Monica (Team MoJo)

4. -- Fan and Barry (Team Frankenbarry)

5. -- Lake and Michelle (Team Dadgummit, Baby!)

Thanks, MysticCat! How come everytime I see your name, I think of the rapper called "Mystikal" and then I find myself humming the words to the song "Shake It Fast (But Watch Yoursel)." That's probably more than you needed to know. :o :D :p

And thanks to Lake, I'm now using the word "dadgummit" on a regular basis. :o

Fran and Barry are still holding on? Wow. Who knew? Eric and Jeremy are annoying but they're good races. Ray and Yolanda seem to be directionally challenged and always stopping to ask for directions appears to lose them a lot of time. The only thing I noticed about MoJo is that Joseph is some hottiefied hottie hotness. :o :D

That just made my entire night! :o

And there was GREAT rejoicing!

I loved it when Monica said "Greece is where thinking began." I know she meant "thinking" as in "western philosophy," but there was something about it that just sounded so, sorry, blonde.

Am I terrible for deriving some schadenfreude from the hippies fall to almost last?

And Ray and Yolanda finally moved up!

Could anyone else tell -- is that the Kappa Alpha Psi coat-of-arms that Ray has tattooed on his left shoulder? I rewound and froze the frame, and that's what it looked like, but the picture was grainy enough it was hard to be sure.

Yes :p  (ETA: Although it looks like next week could be a tough week for them, too!)

When it looked like they were going to be last, I was saying to my mom "Oh, please let it be a NEL, please, please PLEASE!" Then when they came in 5th (even with the penalty), I was then switching to the "Okay, elimination leg is all right now!" chant ;)

Ooh, I can go listen to Dadgumit's interview on the Early Show now :p

valkyrie 04-13-2006 11:33 AM

If this had been a non-elimination round, I would've been SO pissed. Lake was one of the worst guys ever on this show. I mean, one second it's "Shut up, bitch!" and then it's "Good job baby!" and then it's "You screwed up dangit!" and then "Good job baby!" Just ew.

I was SO glad R & Y made up so much time and that the hippies weren't eliminated. They're cheesy, but they're just having so much fun with everything it makes me like them.

::kicking rocks and walking slowly away::
:D

I want Fran and Barry to go next. They annoy me.

Morag 04-14-2006 03:01 AM

History of the previews suggest it will be either MOJO or Franbarry next to go, unless the Frat Boys really blow it! Unless, of course, it is a non-elimination round finally.

blueangel 04-14-2006 10:51 PM

I think they should make a rule that anyone using the word, "baby" is eliminated on the spot. It is so annoying. Don't these couples have names? "C'mon, baby," "Baby, let's go" "You can do it Baby" "Go Baby go"...... shuddup! I have never called my boyfriend "Baby," and if I was ever called Baby, I'd probably resort to my judo training ;)

KDAngel 04-15-2006 02:25 AM

So what happened this week? ANTM and Gilmore Girls (I think) won over TAR again for me... stupid new time slot...

Eric and Jeremy got the fast forward, three teams got 15-minute penalties at the mat for not following directions, BJ & Tyler drove for and hour or two in the wrong direction, and Lake & Michelle were Philiminated. The teams are in Greece, and the current standings are:

1. -- Eric and Jeremy (Team Frat Boys/Casanovas/Beach Bums) -- their prize was red-carpet tickets to the premiere of the heavily-product-placed "The DaVinci Code."

2. -- Joseph and Monica (Team MoJo)

3. -- Ray and Yolanda (Team Finally-Doing-Better, except if they hadn't gotten a 15-minute penalty they would have been in second place)

4. -- Fran and Barry (Team Frankenbarry)

5. -- BJ and Tyler (Team Hippies)

I'm starting to wonder if they've done away with non-elimination rounds this season.

KDAngel 04-17-2006 03:31 PM

Thanks!!

Unless the network's website is acting as a red herring, there's got to be a few coming up (or maybe additional continuation legs?) - the site lists 14 episodes.

Something will definitely have to happen -- that's 7 episodes left with only 2 teams to be eliminated before we have the final 3. I have been thinking there might be a few more 2-episode legs. There may also be a recap episode or a "scenes you didn't see" episode before the final episode or two. Maybe there is still a non-elimination leg to come.

KDAngel 04-19-2006 10:52 PM

Well there ya go- no one went bye-bye. At least I'm assuming they didn't b/c the 15seconds I saw BJ/Tyler were turning over their possessions.

blueangel 04-19-2006 11:14 PM

Darn it! I was hoping they'd be eliminated. I got really turned off with the hippies with all of their mugging for the camera. They really grated on my nerves in Italy when they made fools out of themselves by constantly saying "bon journo" to everyone in a whacky accent. Ugly Americans!

Yeah for the older couple! I hope they win.

Morag 04-20-2006 01:06 AM

There should be at least one more non-elimination rounds. I think Phil said there were two.

I had very mixed feelings. I do not like watching the hippies at all (except for the imitation of Lake last night -- that was priceless.) I think they are annoying and definitely mugging. You can be entertaining on the race (Jeremy to the camel: "Don't give me any lip.") without the subtext of "Look how wacky and entertaining we are. People love us!"

At the same time, they and the frat boys have been the best teams race-wise. Both have made some stupid navigation mistakes in the last two legs, but they still are overall better than the other 3 remaining teams. I could live with them not being eliminated because they are good racers.

I try to like FrankenBarry, but I just can't. I doubt they'll win. If they do, I'll be glad to see the requisite older couple finally pull it off, but I still won't really like them.

And I said it 6 pages ago:

Ray and Yolanda . . . said that the race is the most amount of time they've spent together, I'm predicting either a melt-down or that they work surprisingly well together. My money is on the melt-down.

Okay, so maybe it's more like a deep freeze than a melt-down, but I knew it would come.

AznSAE 04-20-2006 10:25 AM

i think one of the couples got sand in their food last night, lol.

i am rooting for the old couple.

queequek 04-20-2006 07:33 PM

I still love Fran and Barry, and I admire Fran's ability to read maps, which is very important key in this game. I like it that they won the trip to Rome, but didn't they just depart from Rome a couple days before?

Ray/Yolanda and frat boys seem to find the navigation challanging. Err as much as I love Ray to be a Greek, he should know better than fly the bird to Yolanda, especially after the tattoo crest showing last episode. Talking about respecting ladies, geez ....

I play neutral on the hippies, yes they're ugly and too frantic sometimes, but definetely add flavor to TAR. They always try to respect the locals by learning the local language, which very rare for Americans. LOL I can't imagine how grungier they will be after have to turn in their possession, i.e. no changing clothes, deodorant, etc? As if they were using them before the non-philimination.

MoJo is very bland, nothing happen (yet) except Monica's break down carrying a fish. Whoop de doo, fish juice all over you.

I can't believe they would go to Aussie first than Asia. And not so much in Africa, eh? (yet). Places I would love to see them going: Perth (Australia), Djibouti, Ghana, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Nepal, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Japan.
(hint: how about the shot of Mt. Fuji in the beginning of the episode?) ;)
