Equal tie between Samoas and Thin Mints.

Samooooooas..... is it girl scout cookie selling time yet??;) |
Whoa, this thread goes WAAAAY back
Thanks for the merge :-)
I already have homemade peanut butter cookies here at home so I ordered one box of thin mints for the DH and a box of Samoas for ME :D Our neighborhood brownie came by Friday afternoon to take our order. We should get our cookies first week of March.... |
My vote goes to Samoas as well...hands down. :p
|
Lemon Coolers are the best, I also love Do-Si-Dos.
|
Nothing like Thin Mints fresh out of the freezer! Yum!
I just placed my order for my GS cookies. :) I can't wait! <---getting the Thin Mint "shakes" :D |
That's one thing I'm going to have to get used to being back in the South; ordering Girl Scout cookies. Back in Michigan, you could just go to the mall on the weekend and just buy cookies at whatever kiosk that the girls had that day.
I did order some from this lady in my office who was selling them for her daughter. I'll be getting mine the first week in March too. *sigh* My favs (and what I ordered/bought in Jax and in Michigan): Thin Mints Samoas Peanut Butter Patties Lemon Coolers All Abouts Cafe Cookies (cinnamon/chocolate flavored shortbread; new this year) |
Am I the only boring one here that likes the shortbread cookies ?? . . . as a kid I was never into chocolate or candy (even though mom never banned it), I guess it stuck with me because I still I can't get with any of those other flavors

Just bought some friday:D |
Mine are Cartwheels. As I said before, they are the devil!:o

i love Samoas and thin mints. i bought the cafe cookie, to try.... they are goot! they are like a cinnamon trefoil....real good and light.
|
I love thin mints. The freezer thing is right on point.
I will also buy the shortbread because I wont eat them as fast. They are sooo great with a cafe mocha. U all are going to make me track some girl scouts down for a box now. |
The new Thanks a Lots--they are the BIZOOOMBBBBB!!! (slobbering like Homer Simpson)
|
I don't know if it's been mentioned but I think the new Cafe cookies are GROSS :p. I have heard that they are dipping cookies, for the purpose of dipping them in hot tea or coffee. I just can't get into them. The Lemon Coolers are my favorite. They are delicious and reduced fat. A sista is trying to watch her weight. ;)

My favorite
Hands down, my favorite GS cookie is DoSiDos.
While peanut butter is far from my favorite "flavor", I will kill a box of DoSiDos in a minute. They taste so good, they have me chantin' the following: Do si ladies, do si do Come down lightly on your heel and toe That old school (1800s) fiddle promenade type music, popularized by Malcolm McLaren in his song Buffalo Gals. Anyhow, my honorable mention are the Thin Mints. As for Trefoils, good name for APO pledeges, not so good as a cookie. JMO. |
I like the peanut butter ones (Tagalongs I think) and the ones that used to be called Samoas (I think they are Caramel Delights now).
I don't eat a lot of sweets, but it's hard to turn down the Girl Scouts when they attack you in the grocery store. I think I'm one of the only people who isn't a thin mint fan; I just don't like them all that much. |

Samoas are the best. I put them in the refrigerator and eat them cold, usually with a tall glass of milk.

i too hate the cafe cookies i have a whole pkg sitting under my desk at work right now. I ate the whole box of tagalongs in one day. the first day i got them back. yummy! |
Thin mints are my favorite, but they have to be straight out of the freezer. I got some in the freezer now.
|
one thing i noticed is that each region/area has it own cookie they sell. so any cookies that you haven't heard of...then just know it is just for that region or area....
Like I have never heard of Thanks - a - lots |

But they are still good....*drooling* |
Sorry to crash, but my Gold Award daughter said to thank everyone who buys Girl Scout cookies everywhere! She has had a great experience over the last 13 years with GSUSA. Cookie sales help Girl Scouts nationwide.
So keep eating those Thin Mints. P.S. In Massachusetts she sold Caramel Delights. In 6 other states we've lived in, Samoas were for sale. |

Love the new Cafe Cookies. They remind me of Biskoffs. My hands down favorite are the Trefoils.

The reason that cookies differ in name/taste from place to place is because there are two bakeries that provide Girl Scout cookies so they offer different recipes or different names on the same recipe for your favorite cookie.
My favorite is definitely the samoas. No matter what anyone says, caramel delites aren't the same! P.S. Alum-congrats to your daughter! As a 15+ year Girl Scout (I'm now a GS trainer) the Gold Award is an amazing accomplishment! |
Andy Rooney from 60 Minutes were talking about the Girl Scout cookies. Keebler (yes, the elves) makes them in Louisville and another company from Richmond, VA makes others. Knowing know that Keebler makes them partly explains why these cookies are sooooooo goooooood!!:D
