i've ordered from joe toga before. they are kind of slow on delivery (i.e. they shipped after my deliver by date), but for the price you can't beat it. also they have a great selection of wood items. |
I personally have found Fratrow.com to be the best - I ordered my sweatshirts late Sunday night and I received them Wednesday. Comparatively reasonable prices, and good quality stuff!
|
as much as people think greek101.com is expensive. the shirt i order was fabulous and done very quickly. they had a ton of fabric to chose from and you can see a preview of what it will look like with colors and all (altho you have to be aware of monitor discrepencies) they were great to work with! for individual shirts they are awesome, but it sucks they only sell certain things in like multiples of 24. lame if you have a chapter of 8! or just want soemthing for yourself.
i also buy alot of DZ stuff on ebay. have yet to ahve any problems. found some really cool vintage jewely and an old blanket and a scrapbook page with NM pics from 1904 at our founding chapter (2 years after founding). I only paid like $20 for it. it rocked. I always keep an eye out for unique stuff. much stuff is mass produced or alumns selling stuff which kinda sucks, btu you can find some sweet deals. i also got a great deal on letters for me and my bf on greekclothing.com i think also known as greekave.com. i am waiting for them to get here, but they did alot of confirmations and let me know they were on teh way. i am syked to see the quality but the prices were phenominal. i got a full zip hoodie and beanie for like $45, a hoodie for $30 and a tee for $8. was super excited and their site has alot of stuff. also, does anyone know a good place to get a cheap embroidered polo? I want one or two with my crest and a little embroider DZ or soemthing. they are so expensive from what ive seen online. my undergrad used to use a locla place but that is an hour away from my grad school. any good online places for polos? |
Anyone in Pittsburgh?
Hi! Does anyone know of a good reasonably priced greek shop in Pittsburgh? Thanks!

Wooden "Membership Pin" Plaques, etc.
If anyone has seen the wooden items (badges, coat of arms, creeds) made by Pinstation on their website, ebay auctions, or ebay Store, I would just like to say that I ordered the Lambda Chi badge and can recommend it. They are a licensed vendor.
It's really well made and finshed off nicely. Having worked in a sign shop, I know how much work is involved in creating a finished product like this. I knew before I even placed my order what I would do with it - gold leaf it - something else I learned at the sign shop. I got done this morning and it's absolutely beautiful. A one-of-a-kind item! (just so you know, I have no stake in this company whatsoever. I did find out after ordering, however, that one of the guys is in my fraternity - which is pretty cool. He seems very nice) Jono |
Can verify this also. They make only wooden items but make for many Greek Organizations.
I bought two items, a Coat of Arms and a Badge. Suggest You check it out if You are interested in items like this. |
Beware the Bee Charmer
Well, I am bumping this due to my horrible experience. Do not shop at the Bee Charmer (www.beecharmercards.com). I posted about this elsewhere, but for those who didn't see it, I ordered a bag, never received it after a few months and she sent me a bad check as a refund. Even if the woman does refund my money again ( I am doubtful) she has been a horrible, nasty, mean lady about the entire ordeal.
I reported her to the BBB. |

Maybe you had a bad exprerience. |
We've always had good experiences with http://www.greekshop1.com/. I know the website looks atrocious, but it's a good company. They've always done great work for us. They're always very prompt with our orders, and when they aren't, they call to let us know.
Also, a great site for designing your own t-shirts (like for rush or mixers or whatever) is http://www.customink.com/. They have a thing where you can plan out your design and everything, and it's very handy. They're always very prompt and courteous; I don't think it's ever taken them more than two weeks for them to finish and order and get it to us. |

maybe it's a recent thing. we haven't ordered from them in awhile, just because we found better prices at adgreek.com. adgreek takes awhile, but the prices are good

I'm bumping this because I was wondering - I am graduating in May, and I want to have one of those tee shirt quilts made out of some of my GT & OPhiA shirts that I probably just won't be having so many opportunities to wear in a few months. Have any of you done this, and if so, do you have any recs for companies that are really good or really bad, etc?

I pm'ed you. Search the ChitChat. This is the most recent thread:

The Greek Shop
I had already posted this on the GOOD GREEK STORES thread, when I saw that I should post this here instead. So...
I want to highly recommend a store! Those of y'all who have had good ebay experiences probably already know about The Greek Shop, or at Greek And More. They also have IRL shops, one in Clinton, South Carolina, and in Myrtle Beach, called The Beach Greek. The highest feedback I've ever given was to Jennifer and her sister's shops, as they are completely professional. Everything arrives when you're told that it will, and carefully wrapped to boot. (This is the best part!) I have NO idea what their affiliations are, but they know their stuff, and will go out of the way to help you! I even mentioned that I had gotten in too late to snipe on an auction, and she found an identical item! Some chapters use The Greek Shop exclusively; I know when I see the name "jena216" on ebay, I won't get ripped off! |
I'll be visiting Spirit Concepts today, and most likely the bookstore..... somebody told me that it is no longer Longs, but Barnes & Noble.
|
They are right. They have a new Gateway area that has opened on South Campus. The bookstore is in Barnes and Noble. Spirit Concepts is also still open. Be careful where you park. You can park behind Spirit Concepts, just make sure you park in a space that says "Spirit" on it in yellow on the pavement. OSU is known for being quick to tow cars...There is a parking garage where you can park to go to the bookstore. It is only $1 for 3 hours...

I just made an order from college crib. Ehhh. I only used them b/c they had a discontinued mug I wanted. I got a second mug that cracked after 1 use. :( I had to return some notepads that had the wrong org on them. The return procedure was CUMBERSOME. Their sale prices are decent, but it was too much of a headache to return stuff.
|
I've never had a problem with sororityspecialties.com. I always had a super quick delivery when I worked with them.

The Greek Boutique is awesome!! They are so easy to work with, and give a discount on group orders.
Do NOT use Graphic Cow -- we used to love them, but then they screwed up a shirt and refused to fix it. My tee shirt chair has the copy of the proof that she accepted -- they changed it and told her that they keep the same order number, even on changes, so there is no way to prove that she didn't proof the wrong one (okay, she literally has the copy of the one that she proofed - she made a copy just in case!) -- anyway, they won't fix it, but will print new ones for $5 each! That is ridiculous!! It would be like saying "UCLA at LA" that is the type of mistake they made. DUH - if it says "LA" on it, then people can probably figure out it is UCLA at LA!!! (No - I am not at UCLA, it was just the first thing that came to mind!) NEVER AGAIN!! Blue Cotton is also good - good quality tees and they can ship them fast. |
