I find him funny as well. None of my friends want to go with me next month to see him in concert with Tommy. :(

ScholarOn 09-13-2006 12:02 PM

Steve had me laughing hard this morning and the Monkey Down song, OMG, I was dying laughing. Tommy had me cracking up talking about being someone's "Boo", he was too accurate.

With the Strawberry letter I was waiting for Steve to say whorish, that's what he called the lady last week. He said in a way that made it funny as hayle.

BTW... is Eugene real? Or is it Tommy?

:) :)

Did they say why she was not coming back?

bigburly 09-18-2006 01:26 PM

From what I remember, he mentioned hardly anything other than going back to tv journalism.

I remember a long time ago when Jacque was talking about a job at ABC. That has been almost a year ago, but maybe she got an offer.

Sorry for the late response.

jitterbug13 09-18-2006 08:04 PM

Interesting...from BV Buzz

Where's Jacque Reid? That's the question that's flooding my email box. Well, here's what I can tell. Reid is gone from the nationally syndicated Steve Harvey Morning Show. Harvey's former Los Angeles sidekick Shirley Strawberry is his new co-host. Was the parting of Reid and Harvey amicable? Not from what I hear. But nonetheless, Reid is a great talent who'll likely be back on a television or radio network you know and love before you know it!

I have been caught too many times laughing or shaking my head with Steve and the crew on my way to work. I can't even get out of the car until I hear the top 10. Any one else feel that way?

If they added her to the show, I'd never get to work. That woman is funnier than Steve to me. I do miss Miss Reid, when you get used to one radio personality/co-host, it's hard to get into another one.

bigburly 10-03-2006 04:59 PM

I can't wait to get to work in the mornings so I can listen on line. I loved the Strawberry Letter yesterday and today. Steve was on point especially with the woman from yesterday. I wish my husband would give me a lame azz excuse like that dude did in the letter. I can't believe the woman believed him!!!!!

Yesterday's letter had me   She should have been left him from the point of seeing that condom wrapper in his pants and especially after hearing the reason!

Ok, I don't usually listen to this show, but on my way home this morning from the gym I was going from this show to the TJMS, and I happened to catch Eugene giving the TIP for the day....I thought I was going to fall out in mycar from laughing so hard.

Somebody might not be too happy to hear about you tippin' over to another radio station....."Zippidy doo-dah, zippidy day" (Redbone tune before he, you know, do what he do) :)

bigburly 10-13-2006 10:25 AM

I missed the tip yesterday. By the time I tuned in, the crew was still laughing. What was the tip?

Speaking of the TJMS, I was up early this morning and I heard the comedy from that guy Lavelle I think his name is, and he had me laughing so hard in my car all by myself.

StarFish106 10-13-2006 11:55 AM

Lavelle Kirby is a fool....

LMAO@ Steve and the Bruhs!!:p

jojapeach 04-26-2007 10:08 AM

I feel like I'm really late on this, but I'm just starting to catch on to the SHMS. I love listening to Steve just being Steve, and Nephew Tommy is a fool on his own, too. It's the best thing to happen to urban radio in Atlanta in a long time.

I was listening to The Bert Show, but I gave Steve a chance and had to run with it. The Strawberry Letter is always hilarious and/or insightful; it's especially insightful when the young girls write in.

Here's an article I found on Steve Harvey's success with the morning show. It's quite impressive when you think about it.

Steve Harvey going against the grain: ‘King of Comedy’ brings civility, God, and big ratings, to morning radio

UrbanizdSkillz 04-27-2007 12:39 PM

The show is even BETTER live. The entire crew cuts up worse off air than on air!! SHMS is the best thing to hit Atlanta morning airwaves in a looong time. I've been listening since the show hit the airwaves here.

jojapeach 02-04-2008 10:37 AM

I feel like I've been blind all of this time

Did anyone else hear Tommy say, "There's gonna be a Kappa in the White House y'all'? I have never heard that before, and I can't even find anything to support that claim.

If it's true, I kinda wish he never made that known. There are people out there that will not affiliate with you in any way just because you are Greek, and I would have to wonder if Barack Obama wanted to keep that part of his background under wraps just for that reason. Again, I have no proof of Tommy's claim being true, but can anyone back that up?

Hubby and I also heard it this morning, and as soon as I heard it, I had to ask him, because he's a Kappa and he usually tells me who is and who is not. He says that Obama is not a Kappa and he also said that he wishes people would stop saying that.

jojapeach 02-04-2008 01:57 PM

^^^ I wish they would, too. There's no reference to him anywhere as a Notable member. There's not even recognition on the Kappa national website or Sen. Obama's website. Research is really good.

I'd love to hear a flood of letters advising Tommy to do his research if he has false information. If you or anyone else hears it, please let a sista know because I don't hear Steve in the AM anymore; I'm too far north of the station tower to get a good signal in my place. :(

christiangirl 02-04-2008 02:06 PM

^^^I am now officially hooked. I don't see how I ever got through my morning commute without it!!! :D

likeaTREE 02-06-2008 01:08 AM

The SHMS is absolutely hilarious. I knew the show was absolutely entertaining when my son said mama turn on Steve Harvey before you drop me off... I am most definitely hooked.
