IT SUCKS!! If you're trying to use it like regular Blistex, forget it...it does NOTHING for moisturizing your lips. It's more of a gloss, and a poor one at that. It tastes like medicine and doesn't stay on for more then 5 minutes. Don't waste your money.

Thats exactly what I came to this thread to write! All it does is make your lips shiny for a few minutes. I had to wonder if they even TRIED to formulate a lip balm, it is that ineffective

JeffersonStKKG 01-21-2007 03:09 PM

Oh I am such a lip-gloss addict! This thread should be called, LGA (lip gloss anonymous..haha). I have such a varied assortment depending on my needs.

I use: Rosebud Salve (preferably the strawberry kind), Stila Lip Glaze, Lip Smackers (I'll never grow out of it..haha), Neutrogena SPF lip gloss, Benefit Benetint lip stain/gloss, Aveda lip balm, Kiehl's, Blistex Lip Infusion, DuWop gloss and Dessert Beauty gloss. I recently tried VS lip gloss and like it, too.

Well, not only am I a lip-gloss/balm-a-holic..clearly, I'm a shopaholic as well :p

MJo19 02-05-2007 02:19 PM

I got one of the BEST chap-sticks last weekend. The Savannah Bee Company in Mint Julep. It is wonderful.

Jill1228 02-05-2007 02:45 PM

I am partial to MAC Lipglass and Pout (me and Sephora have a close relationship)

I gotta try that Bigelow lipgloss now...

this thread is a bad influence

I bought this last week and have to agree with you. It DOES nothing as far as mosturizing goes and it does not stay on very long.

Gina1201 02-05-2007 09:15 PM

I love Beauty Rush from Victoria's Secret.

AUDeltaGam 02-05-2007 10:25 PM

I just bought the sephora brand plumping lip gloss, and I think I'm in love :)

Stef the Pef 02-06-2007 03:19 AM

My current love is Clinique's RSVPink super sparkly lip gloss. It's like a layer of hot pink glitter for my lips.

I have H.I.P. in some color and I must admit I'm not so enthused about this product. I find it flat and doesn't really shine. Its great for color but does not have gloss properties. I have several glosses but I'm really loving the one I bought from earth savers in macadamia nut. Its pricey ($25) but I'm going back for another.

Stef the Pef 02-18-2007 10:14 PM

Probably old news, but I just discovered Burt's Bees Lip Shimmers in Champagne. It kinda tingles when I put it on. Mmmmm.

I just ordered this over the weekend-I'm excited to try it!

aephi alum 02-19-2007 01:23 AM

How did I miss this thread??

I'm a lipgloss-and-go girl. Heaven knows my commuter-rail trip is long enough to put on a full face of makeup, but 99% of the time I just shove a lipgloss in my pocket and book it for the train. Eyeshadow lurks in my work bag in case I decide to go out after work.

I got a sampler of 5 MAC lipglass shades a few months ago, in various shades of pink, and I usually carry one of those. When I wear red, I use a Prescriptives lip gloss, which I call "lip-repellent" - I have to reapply it so often that it's seriously annoying. I won't be buying Prescriptives again. The MAC stays on, though I usually have to reapply after lunch, but that's better than reapplying every five minutes.

Honeykiss1974 02-21-2007 11:28 AM

Estee Lauder recently came out with a brand of lip gloss called DoubleWear Lip Stains. They "claim" that they are long wearing (I guess as much as a lip gloss could be) so I bought one a few weeks ago. I really like it and it actually does last a while too.

My other recent purchase was Tootsie Roll lip gloss.

OtterXO 02-21-2007 01:08 PM

I just got one of the Lorac Mocktails glosses as a free gift with a Sephora purchase. They sent me "Sex on the Beach" which is a sheer pink gloss. I have to say, it does smell suspiciously like a tropical drink and is pretty on. It doesn't last very long, but what gloss does? :)

i feel you. when i found myself slathering on layer after layer to get it to shine, i meekly went back to mac! last weekend i got lipglass in Viva Glam 6.

RoyalEmpress33 02-21-2007 04:40 PM

I'm not an addict but I like the Shinylicious lipgloss in 'pink sorbet' by Mayebelline.:)

Still BLUTANG 05-08-2007 04:20 PM

i took my mom to the MAC counter last night... i am trying so hard to get her out of Fashion Fair. I got Pop Mode (absolutely love it, i don't know why i haven't tried this shade before) and mama blutang got desire.

You too? :D My mom has an oooooooold Fashion Fair blush compact in the most unnatural shade of red for someone of a medium caramel color. I finally made her throw it out.

As far as lips go, I use Rosebud Salve as my general chap defense (it's so good, and it works wonders on any little dry spots, and breakouts, too). When I'm going out, my favorite gloss is Stila Lip Glaze in Brown Sugar (it has just a little touch of shimmer, and lots of shine).

1908Revelations 05-08-2007 05:55 PM

I heart MAC Luster Glass in Beaux!

Educatingblue 05-09-2007 05:04 PM

I am sure somebody has already mentioned these, but I love Rimmel and Avon!

I'm addicted to MAC lipglass (or any variation thereof -- Plushglass, Chromeglass, Lustreglass, Lip Gelee...)... Prrr, Florabundance, C-Thru, and Oh Baby are my standbys.

They're expensive, but last forever. So worth the $14.

neosoul 05-09-2007 11:09 PM

Just got Toasty Almond and Grapesicle Beauty Rush from Vickie C... awesome...

mystikchick 05-10-2007 01:48 AM

i don't know if they still make it, but coco mademoiselle lipgloss was a stunning orange/pink/gold gloss that i wore to my prom freshman and sophomore year. i'm in love with my lipgloss from bath and body works - it looks a deep red in the tube but it comes out the most gorgeous sheer shade of red, not too dark or too light (goldie in leslie) juicy tubes are nice but too sticky - my hair winds up plastered to my lips. in the last few days i have also found the maybelline lipgloss - strawberry tart is a really nice, very lightly tinted shade.

i'm also obssessed with flavored chapstick/lip balm...:o

mystikchick 05-23-2007 04:19 AM

also, a GREAT chapstick, like instant moisture, is Alba Botanicals - i have one in pineapple and one in passionfruit. they're organic and so so good (taste and effect). nothing leaves my lips smoother, and they're not greasy/waxy

i'm not obsessed...:o

Scandia 05-23-2007 06:40 AM

I have been wearing lip gloss since fifth grade and have not been able to stop. I have one tube in my desk, one in my nightstand, and one in my purse.

Coco lipgloss? This I have to get!

--totally obsessed with all things Coco
----totally because her favorite stuffed bunny is a Coco. :o

risingstar 05-23-2007 10:11 AM

V.S. lip glosses that I have: Coconut Craze, Honey Do, and Sugar...something, the label is gone. I love V.S. lip glosses because they smell so good, they're extremely glossy, and they last.

I am also a BIG fan of MAC glass.

OneTimeSBX 05-23-2007 10:12 AM

i'm so excited! there are lipgloss-aholics like me!!

i dont care what kind it is (my fave is MAC lipglass in Shock-o late) it will get purchased. right now i am really loving Bonnebell VitaGloss20 because it isnt heavy, and L'oreal Colourjuice in iced latte. its the perfect item to buy on a budget, because 5 bucks can do soooo much...

KSig RC 05-23-2007 10:32 AM

obv obv obv

guardedbystars 05-24-2007 07:59 PM

I just bought two lip glosses yesterday -- DDF abd this cool thing from Juice Beauty -- it was in this pack I got from Sephora.

I really used to like Dior, the squeeze kind. The color is really nice and shiny, but it's sticky.

I really like Trish McEvoy.

KDAngel 05-25-2007 10:53 AM

I recently bought Aquafina's Hydrating Lip Oil and I must say that I really like. I feel like I reapply it often (but I think I do that out of habit regardless of whether or not I need to), but it goes on smooth, doesn't stick and definitely moisturizes your lips. :)

I use Alba too - I have the coconut cream one. They are good.

Not lip gloss, but I also use Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm. I tried the Honey, but I didn't like it.

I tried the Sally Hansen Lip Inflation in Sheer Mocha, and I really like that. I really don't need the 'inflation', but I love the color, it's shiny and not too sticky, stays on for a long time, and cheap.
