The only famous alumni my school, from Lake Hamilton High School in Hot Springs, Arkansas, was a Playboy model form the 90's.

Lots of writers/producers/agents

Leighton Meester was friends with one daughter. I had friends on that list. (yes, many of us tend to stay here, which is why I said on another thread to Leslie Anne--Go Normans!). Both girls had/have friends on that list.

I did NOT know that. I loved her in Into the Woods.

Ha! I remember her!

preciousjeni 07-04-2010 01:17 AM

I graduated from the same high school and college as Kyle Chandler from Friday Night Lights (and Early Edition...I loved that show!)

We both went to George Walton Academy in Monroe, GA (go bulldogs!) and the University of Georgia (go bulldogs!). Yes, bulldogs. The HS was like 30 minutes from the university. lol

ETA: Whoops! Apparently he didn't graduate from college. He stopped just short.

ellebud 07-04-2010 01:22 AM

How could I forget John Ingle, drama teacher (Beverly Hills High): General Hospital
Joanna Hall was a star at Beverly as well. Nicolas Cage dropped out of Beverly when he did not get a role that went to David Schwimmer.

Hey, ellebud,
What role went to David Schwimmer? Nicolas Cage was at Beverly only one year. It was the year I wasn't there -- my sophomore year; his junior. Um, 1981-82. David was in my class. Such a sweetie.

I loved Kyle Chandler in a short lived tv show, Homefront. Apparently, I was one of the few. :( In the 1940's parlance of Homefront, hubba hubba!

ellebud 07-04-2010 03:48 AM

I LOVED HOMEFRONT!!! We have excellent taste Honeychile.

As for Nicolas Coppola (Cage) he lost out in the spring musical. I'm sorry but age is getting to me, maybe Hello Dolly?

That list is so weird: people who are friends with my kids/dated my kids (I also have a son who is older), my friends...people you (Leslie Anne) knew and were friends with...we're all different generations at the same school. OK....I'm a lot different generations.

The weirdest thing about Jon Ingle: A friend, non Beverly, produced a television show. She cast John Ingle as a day player. I campaigned (nicely) to give him a contract. She told me that half the network came in with the same quote, "He was my drama teacher at Beverly!!! Give him the contract!"

Mountain Brook High School: Courtney Cox. (Might be more, but that's the only one I know of)

According to the teachers that were there when she was a student she was a nice girl but wasn't in any of the theatre department's productions and did career co-op for two years.

Isn't it funny how that works? I went to college with a current R&B singer and she was never in any of the choirs or productions. Not even a campus talent show.

Yeah I know...but I guess in high school she looked just as glamorous as she did when she began acting, because I've seen the yearbook proof. It's weird to think she could've been a Mountain Brook housewife because she just LOOKS like a movie star naturally.

The only famous alumni that my high school has is Eliza Dushku. (Watertown High School, MA)

ilovetheviolets 07-05-2010 10:39 PM

No hollywood celebrities...but some pretty successful people. I went to a very small high school (I graduated with 45)...so here you go...

Jake Burton Carpenter who started Burton Snowboards
Matthew Blank who is the Chairman/CEO of Showtime

dgdramadawg 07-05-2010 10:52 PM

From my school (Marlborough High School in Marlborough, Mass):
Marcia Cross from Desperate Housewives/Melrose Place
Gregory Maguire (author of Wicked and other novels)

Marcia's mom was my 6th grade math teacher while MP was on and would always tell us not to watch the show because it was inappropriate for our age group.

MUSK81 07-07-2010 11:44 AM

Nobody famous from my high school, but Jennifer Garner graduated from my older son's alma mater, George Washington HS in Charleston, WV. As for Kyle Chandler, I've absolutely loved him in everything he's been in, especially Homefront. I don't know how it could have been cancelled - everybody I know loved that show! I personally think they somehow managed to survey the people in this country who didn't watch it and skipped all those of us who did.

lovespink88 07-07-2010 12:45 PM

A local reporter went to my high school and grade school. That's about it, lol

I loved the show "Homefront"! Not many people remember it.

honeychile 07-07-2010 05:49 PM

^It had a small but very loyal following. If they ever make a box set, I'll be first in line!

IrishLake 07-07-2010 07:18 PM

I graduated from a very small Catholic high school in northern ohio. No famous people, so to speak, but a lot of very successful people. The closest thing to fame comes from a prominant wrestling family. 4 boys, 8 state championships, 3 runners up, multiple other places, all went on to Kent State to wrestle in college. KSUViolet may know them, or at least the family name.
