Its really sad when this kinda stuff goes on and they have the audacity to use God as a "helper" in their own personal madness. I know this is nothing new, but to have a college to formally breed insanity is a bit much.

I started reading the rules and I definitely know some people who would love this school (like people in my mother in law's church)

Note to self: Do NOT show this to my Pentacostal Mother in Law...she will pray for her grandson (my stepson) to go to a school like this

If I remember correctly, they don't have any national groups, they have their own greek-letter organizations called collegians.

What happens when you get your degree in Marriage and Womanhood and you can't find a husband? Your education has gone to waste!

I think that guy and girl are standing to close to each other. Behaviour like that could lead to dancing!

Perhaps the final thesis towards that degree involves actually getting married. Like you can't complete your course of study without it. Gives a whole new meaning to being in college for your MRS degree.

No joke - I have a senior is my seminar class (that I teach) who is going to BJU in the fall. Seriously... he is BEYOND excited.

When he told me... I had to turn away to keep form laughing.

One of the grad students (UofT School of Theology) in my Scripture in the Christian Tradition hails from BJU (so many jokes to make)... and I gotta admit he has provided me with the most amusement this academic term ~ nothing beats watching him try and score points against the prof. A Prof that happens to be a priest that taught ecumenical theology at the Vatican - and is fluent in Aramaic, Hebrew, Greek, and Latin (and can quote various translation of scripture in each as well). I think the grad guy was shocked that a Catholic priest could go toe-to-toe quoting scripture... and the works of Calvin, Luther, Wyclif, etc.

If Fr. Donovan was such a nice guy he might actually get offended... but he usually views it as an chance to explore various interpretations (literal/allegorical/theological/spiritual) of what happens to be in question. didn't read this whole thread, but got the jist. i was at work on saturday, and there were 3 girls that came in for updos and make up and stuff......going to a Baptist Independant college "function"....couldn't call it a dance b/c they have a 6 inch rule.....meaning that a guy and a girl cannot be closer than 6 inches to each other. her and her b/f had never kissed, held hands or anything, but that he had put his arm around her once, but they didn't tell anyone!!!! :eek: the horror!!! :eek:

how does this prepare anyone for the real world? i mean, the 6 inch thing is one (weird) thing, but actual degree-obtaining classes on understanding your husband.....come on!

Someday, I hope that the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster will have a college of its own.

OHH- I think I saw a girl's ANKLES in one of the pictures.

I'm surprised they allow the "young ladies" to watch men's intramural sports. I would think that the sweaty men might arouse "inappropriate thoughts" in the young ladies.

Since they're privately funded, then Title 9 doesn't apply.. sadly.

Anything is possible when you make up your own school. I like that a non-student woman married to a student can get a Certificate in Wifery and Motherhood.
