Wolfman, that's pretty funny!
Oh my "sorority nerd" moment for the day.. I realized that the house facing me has sailboats on the shutters...and I thought, "hmm, some nice Tri Sigma should move in there!". and I saw the house that my parents want to buy and thought.."It's blue and white, those are the tau delta colors...oh! and I can redecorate my room in a Tau Delta Theme!!!" |
when everyone you work with knows what sorority you are in because you have pens with letters... then they all return the pens when I lose them... then to top it off there was a gentlemen wearing my letters one night in the restaurant and I had at least half the staff ask me if I'd noticed...

I saw a girl wearing a shirt with anchors on it the other day and I wondered if she was a DG...haha, I'm a dork :p Or I saw a cute beach bag at Target with an Anchor theme and I wanted to get it for my former RA, who is a DG. |
I can agree to most of these things.
I'm making my mom let me paint three sigmas on my wall, much to my dad's dismay. also, i always have my sigma pens with me at work. i dropped one off for a guest to sign her credit card receipt with AND SHE STOLE IT!!! Seriously, who steals a sigma pen when they aren't a sigma. What a witch. In three months being a server, that was the first stolen pen i had. |

Seriously, the world hunger and AIDS bit needs to go to that house's neighbors. If you're proud of your frat, why not show it? |
...when you know people who have a tattoo of their pledge pin/badge over their heart
...when even though you aren't a fan of roses, you find yourself in love with yellow ones ...when you spend hours trying to design a tattoo of an anchor that doesn't make you look like a sailor ...when you have a liscence plate frame with your letters, a decal with your letters, and a cling with your GLO written out on your car, all at the same time ...go you to work one day wearing a letter t-shirt, a letter windbreaker, and carrying a letter sweatshirt (in case it gets cold) and your letter bag ...your badge for work is on a lanyard with your letters on it in your colors ...you decide that mother nature MUST wish she was in your sorority (i mean, really, GREEN grass, leaves, bushes, etc. YELLOW sun...) ...your parents ask you if you actually own any non sorority related clothes anymore ...your mom starts carrying "mom" keychains and chatting up other sisters when she meets them even though not only is she not in a GLO, she didn't even go to college ...even though yellow makes you look like you have the plague, you wear it anyway because it's one of your colors i think i'll stop now :D |

I'll add.... you get the sorority tattoo AFTER you graduate from college. (I think I'm getting mine this summer.) ;) |
*When you move into your room and start putting your clothes away, you get excited that you can FINALLY fill an entire dresser drawer with letters.
*You're at the house so much, people assume you live there. One of my good friends is in the sorority next door, she came to visit me and asked, "Where's Jocelyn's room?" *You have a recruitment dream at least once a week, and wake up with a new idea every time. *You spend an ENTIRE Saturday going to malls, fabric/craft stores, and party stores with your big and grandbig (current and former VP Recruitment) looking for ONE type of glass vase for your centerpieces. *When new members start their meetings, YOUR screename, e-mail, and phone # are given out as a good source of Sigma information. *You're known as the "Attendance Sensei" to your sisters. *You move into the dorms, pack a bag, and spend the entire week before school sleeping in the guest room @ the house, just so you can help with recruitment workshops. *You get asked to come up front during workshop because every 5 minutes you have a new piece of advice for the first time rushers. *You ALREADY have presents to give to your little (which you don't have yet). *You win the "Sigma Who Bleeds Purple and White" Award at formal, after winning "Most Dedicated New Member" last year. *You are already contacting alumnae chapters located near the grad schools you're applying to. *When your school's Greek Advisor walks up to you and says, "I had to meet you. Someone in my office mentioned to me the other day that there was this awesome Sigma that she sees EVERYWHERE promoting her chapter and wearing letters." *You CRY A RIVER the first time you see your chapter's new house with letters on it! *You've decided to apply for the Leadership Consultant position with HQ in 2006 (crosses fingers). *You stressed yourself out trying to find grad schools with both of your orgs represented (there are only 4 and I'm not particularly interested in any of them except KSU). Wow this was long. |
