KICK BUTT EP
Tonight's ep was OFF THE HINGES!!
I cried when Terri told Lem that she loved him. I finally saw her see her limits. She was able to break her hard mold and be real with Lem. Kenny pissed me off with that jail rhetoric. I really think that by seeing Lem in jail, it would have calmed Ahmad down from his "OZ" like dreams. He really was worried about his uncle. Can I get Ahmad to have some Black friends though? That slimy azz athlete pissed me off. Damon please don't lose yourself being his agent. That athlete is just UGH!! Totally coincides with Michael Jordan and other athletes who run around on their wives. Next week's ep will be intense with Lem looking for the arsonist. I was soo feeling the sista judge who regulated in her chambers. Braxton does not look half bad now that he is less corny. |
CT4 ,
Girl was that episode off the chain or what?! My brother had called me last night and at 5 of I was like look I have to get off the phone Soul Food is about to come on. I agree with you on all points that you made in your post about the show. |

Damon wanted to get into the agent business and that is some of the things that come with it. SPHINXPOET! |
The greatest sitcom...
Soul Food has to be the best sitcom right now. I love the show. Last night's episode was the bomb too. I was upset that Kenny wouldn't let Ahmad see Lem, but he's a very sexy man to me, so it was all good.
Damon's fine self doesn't need to get caught up in that mess with the athlete. Why do men do stuff like that? How could he call his wife fat and she was carrying his child? Lord help!! The show was the bomb...I can't wait to next week. Is Lem going to learn that he has to let the streets go? What is he going to get into next? |
Drama

His desire to find out who burned down the store is a natural one and because he has ties to the streets, he will be far more successful than the police. |
I caught the end of it...
I'll have to see it on Sunday. Anyway, I walked in the house @ 1:45 am just as the guy was calling his wife fat (I have to look at the West coast version).
Did they ever show what happened to the little boy that Treach was about to "deal" with? I got all mushy when Terri and Lem said their piece at the end too. But, I have a feeling I can count on my girl to come back later with something nice/nasty. Why did it look like they're about to make Terri start begging for Damon?? I want that chick (Damon's ex-girl) to get hers, though. I also want Max to find out about Lila (especially her & Kenny going to that game together). That would be a juicyyyyy episode. :p |

FYI
Season 3 does not begin until June. This is Season 2 section B.
I saw Wednesday night in a future ep preview that Terri told Damon that she is still in love with him. |
I have a question. Why is Damon apart of the same mess that cause him to break up with Terri? That seems dumb, hypocritical, and etc. to me.
|
Good Question
Quote:
At any rate, his job as an agent will keep the plot lively and me fired up @ that bastard of an athlete he represents. |
I got a lot to say
First I want to talk about that selfish azz athlete: Did you see him kick soccer girl!?!?! If ya azz was not such a sorry athlete, you might be rolling in endorsements. But since your number one priority is to have sex with every woman other than your wife, you like a Faith Evans song, "YOU GETS NO LOVE!!"
Moving right along, Riley's dad: Boo if it was not for the relationship that Kenny's family has with Damon, your kid would not have had a shot in Hades in being a contender for a commercial. I almost choked when I saw him after Holyfield/Lennox Lewis bout looking like a rejected BLUES CLUES!! UGH BOOOOOOO on you and your son for giving my peeps Black eyes. Terri, girl, calm down. You don't have to do all you doing. Although I give her much respect for getting old dude to stay with the law firm. NOW ON TO AVERY, GEEEEEEEEEZUZ I was blown away that his little azz was the fire culprit. Now see, Lem, dang please do not get caught up in FILKY/PHILKY's dirty work, BTW, WHAT TYPE OF NAME IS FILKY!!! Avery's grandmother living large with her big azz screen tv but living in straight denial that an 11 year old should be taking care of his grandma like that. I know she knows what Avery does, don't get me wrong but dayum you had to realize that sooner or later Avery might have either been killed, jailed or strung out. Did they ever say what happened to his mom and dad? I was really touched by Lem going by there and I know he will take care of Avery' grandma and keep in touch with Avery. Next week looks to keep everything going on the intense side of Soul Food. Did you all see Terri laid out on the floor at the end of the previews? All right I think I covered what was on the TOP of my head but once you all drop your POVs I will be back with more. Sphinx, KimL, TickledPink, C&C1913, et al where are you at?!!!?!?! |
CT4, I don't even know where to start.
First let me get this off my chest because I have been thinking about this since last night. Is Lem crazy?!! I don't care, but there is no way on this earth that I would get into anything with Filky. That I got your back for life bond is going to come back to haunt his azz....trust me on that. When I saw that big TV screen at Avery's grandmother's house at first I wasn't sure what I was looking at, then I realized that it was a big screen tv. Yeah she is straight simple if she doesn't know what Avery was up to. She cracked me up that she was going to call the polic on Lem, but in the same breath said see you next week so she can get her money. What kind of mess is that, you living off an 11 year old. That was really deep when it was brought to light that Avery is the person that had the store burned down, and what about when the detective came to pick Avery up, he still has a smart remark to say even though it was proven that Lem was innocent. Damon's client, he is really bad news. I was like no he didn't just push that girl down. Terri is way out of control. Her we go back with her having to be in control of everything, and have her hands in everything. Next week when her azz is laid out on the floor I hope she finally learns that she can't do every damn thing. I just have one question, the Wilma Flintstone outfit that Terri had on when she went to the construction site, what was that about? I just wasn't feeling the way she was dressed seeing that she works in a law firm. I know people have busniess casual, it's here at my place of employment. But everytime I looked at her I kept thinking that she is dressed like Wilma and Betty from the Flintstones. :p |

Now really though what is up with Bird's hair: I Dream of Jeannie, old school ponytail with no hair hanging from scrunchie, flip, etc. She is straight unbeWEAVEable.:p |

My first thought about Terri's outfit was it was cute but wrong place wrong time to wear it and secondly it darn near made me think she was going there to sell more than the firm
Terri is ALWAYS trying to do to much but I still don't feel like the male partner should have fronted on her like that at the meeting that could have been done in private. The male partner has been dissing her alot lately. Lem made a BIG mistake making a life long bond with Filky. That is one check brotha man done wrote that his azz won't be able to cash without getting in some type of trouble. Last night I also noticed I don't like the way Lem talks to Bird. To me he is always snapping/barking orders. Like when she came in the house with the baby and she said," Hey baby what's going on?" He didn't say Hey Bird, Hey Dawg, NOTHING but "Go put the baby in the bed" Mad or Upset, negro betta speak to me when I enter and speak first then carry on the conversation. Damon's little sorry athlete is a trip. He wants to blame his shortcomings on Damon when in all actuality it is his sorry behind. Next, where were the parents when the sorry athlete pushed and kicked the soccer kids? Athlete or not I would checked his sorry behind for putting his hands on MY child. I can't wait to see next week |
My thoughts...
I could not wait to log on to see what you all had to say about last night's episode. I'm going to start off with LEM: When is he going to learn?! I specifically stated last week that it seems like he would never learn his lesson. Somebody replied and said that he was fronting or something, but sure enough...he's right back at it. When it's all said and done, I think Lem is going to get hurt.
Avery: I knew he had done it when Filky and Lem saw him in that shack or whatever it was. That little boy...I don't even know what to say about that situation. It made me really think about how it really is in the "REAL WORLD." There are so many little boys and girls that are in Avery's shoes. And to know that grandma could care less. I noticed that big screen TV, but most importantly, I saw all of those Jesus pictures and Crosses...but she was cool letting her 11 year old grandson do whatever he does in the streets. That's so sad. Terri & Bird need to do something with their hair. I mean Terri's hair gets worse every week. That greasy flip has to go! I liked it best when it was short. Bird needs to chill on with that phony pony. It's UGLY! Kenny is so fine to me! I loved when he popped ol' dude in his eye! Why did that guy look like a raccoon when when he went to their house?! I loved it. Lastly, I can't stop saying how fine Damon is. My goodness...that brotha is all that and a pot of MUSTARD AND TURNIP GREENS!!!!! I look forward to watching Soul Food. I go to Bible Class to get my spiritual food, after that, It's SOUL FOOD! The show is the Number one sitcom that comes on SHOWTIME. They're doing it up!!! Look forward to some more discussion! I'm OUT! |
I definitely think that Lem's decision to have FIlky's back for life is going to come back and bite him in the azz. You can't make a deal with the devil and expect not to get burned.
I had not thought of Avery as the culprit but can see it afte al ahe has been thorough and Lem giving him back (like a pair of shoes) to Filky. He is a mixed up, scarred 11 year old who had a whole lot of misplaced anger. Lem made himself a target of that anger and that is all she wrote. I think it is very sad to see how that child has to live an how his grandmother was and waht he had to do just so they coudl get by. You can see Terri gradually warming back up to my husband....I mean Damon.:D The sheer fact she even asked to talk to him was a switch. Considering her experiences with cheating men and everyting that they have been through, it will be interesting how they try and manever them back together. I thnk Terri is really feeling the presure at work. As well she should. WHo knew that Maxine's little bid for Alderman was going to amount to political and professional suicide for Terri. Last week when her assistant to ld her people were talking about her costing the firm large accounts I knew she had something to worry about. Hopefully she will succeed in turning it around and get back on a good foot with the partnership before things get too out of hand. I love this show. A friend who does not have Showtime saw it for the first time while at her mom's over Christmas and was hooked. If you are reading this and don't watch it- start. If you know someone who has never seen it, encourage them to watch. I will be one angry sista if this show ever gets cncelled. PS- And yes, Terri and Bird's hair need some work! |

AMEN TO THAT!!! I don't want to see this show cancelled. I look forward to watching Soul Food on Wednesdays!!! |
Dang!!!!
I didn't get off until 3am, so I missed the west coast version, too!!! Anyway, I'll catch it on Sunday and come back with my thoughts. But, I do have to say... didn't they say they found "ejaculate" on the counters? So Avery is doing that??? Wait, don't tell me. :p I'll be back on Sunday! |

Now, to my comments.... I was shocked that Avery was behind the store burning. Also, the crack-house/crackhead scenes was very depressing to me...there's nothing like a dose of reality. Lem IS crazy!!!!!! What in the world is he thinking? Did I misunderstand or does he think that Avery will rat on Philky & he want have to live up to his end of the bargain? I can't wait for Terry & Damon to hook-up! |
Re: Re: My thoughts...

Taking Avery from Philky is his way of getting him out of a "bad situation" that will grow far more dangerous as we see that Philky is not the most stable person in the world. However, promising what he promised is a wee bit extreme. Lem seems to have forgotten about his wife and son as well as sisters-in-law, brother-in-law and nephew and nieces. Lem has come a long way, too long, to get caught up in that life again and take others with him. He owes it to his family to do the right thing. Oh and that twisted azzzzzz cop made me wanna hurl last night!! |

LOL!!! I was thinking the same thing! How 'bout I thought he was gonna kill that crackhead--whose house they busted in-- I was like 'oh no, Lem'....
|
Soul Food!
I do agree with all of you who said that Lem has come a long way. Actually, he's come too far to play this game again. Let's PRAY ("Father God in the name of Jesus...") that he gets his stuff together and won't let down his wife, son, and family again. I'm sick of Terry bailing him out, if you ask me.:D
until next week... |
Re: I caught the end of it...
I heard something about Terri and Damon being together and the ex walks in on them in his apartment. Ok..now WHY does she have a key if she and Damon aren't like that? Can you say I am CONFUSED?

Tonight's the NIGHT!
I don't know about everybody else, but I am so excited about watching this week's episode of SOUL FOOD! I'm anxious to see how Lem is going to going to handle this situation that he's just gotten himself in. I'm also dying to see Damon's fine self! Dang, that dude is so good lookin' it's ridiculous. I don't know what's wrong with Ms. Survivor Terry! She's TOO strong willed at times. Girl, you know you want to get back with him...do tha dayum thang!
Is anybody as ecxited as me???? |
I disagree
Quote:
Anyway, I understand Terri. To have 3 men cheat on her, 2 husbands and a boyfriend, girlfriend is struggling with trust and what is WRONG with her that leads men to the arms of other women. Not to mention Kenny WAS her boyfriend. Terri has issues that she needs to work through, true enough and being away from Damon and tonight's episode will HOPEFULLY help her begin to put Terri back together again. |
It's the middle of the show after the second dream sequence and I am SCREAMING!!!!!!!
|
GOOD EP
First of all: CTHU @ Lem and Bird scratching ESPECIALLY when LEM was scratching @ his interview and got caught. DID Y'ALL SEE LEM'S BOOTY!!:D  Lem, boo, from now on get NAME BRAND MASSAGE OIL, Please.
KUDOS on TERRI's acting tonight. Girlfriend had me scared for her. I was in tears when her and Bird sang What A Friend We Have in Jesus.:( I don't fault Bird for going to Damon. Damon was actually able to crack Terri's shell. Max's vagina poem was tight. I cannot even hate on her for that one. Go head Max. Chrissy Poo, girl go ahead and go on some where. Damon wants Terri not you.:p Next week, oooooooooooooooooooooooo    did y'all see LEM'S MOMMA kiss LEM ON HIS MOUTH. : Then OLD LILA gets with KENNY'S DADDY and they get caught freaking in the bathroom. That dream sequence had me screaming too but not out of shock but out of ;) , LOL. Go head Damon do your thing. |
O-bee Kay-bee
I was sooooooooo psyched, I thought the dream sequence was real! They got me. Damon is so beautiful! I love him.
I wish Chrissy would just GO AWAY! She's so unattractive & annoying. Terri did act her behind off tonite! She had me scared. Max's poem was the bomb! Bird & Lem were hilarious. |

I really like Max's poetry too. I wonder who writes it for her. She does a good job reading it as well. Did you notice how Kenny was looking all crazy when Max first started reading, then when ol' girl jumped up and said "Your man must be good!" he started sticking his chest out!! I was LOL on that one! I agree w/ ya....Miss Christy needs to just cut her loses. Talking 'bout "No, we need to talk now." then backtracking with a quickness when she realized she REALLY didn't want to have that conversation! LOL I'm glad Kenny & Lem are going to be working together, but I have a feeling Filky is going to try to have him doing some ol' shady stuff like stealing cars with the tow truck. What is up with Ray or Roy (head of the law firm) He seems like he really has it in for Terri. Like she can't do anything right. She hired the paralegal back kinda smooth, but if I had been the paralegal Miss Terri would have had to say the words. I would not have let her get off that easily.... O.k. That's it for me! Can't wait to see the other comments... |
