Awh.. this moring I heard my cut. D'Angelo's "Me and those Dream'in eyes of mine" from the Brown Sugar CD. Brought back soooooo... many memories of living in a dorm on Southern's raggedy campus.

Singing....

...Ooouu wee baby,
you redefine the,
vision of love it seems,
Your love be the cherry in my chocolate covered dreams....

Anybody know what and where D'Angelo is now?

What's the name of the one that goes:

"It's getting late.
Why are you still here girl?
Have you made up your miiiiiiiind.
You wanna make love toniiiiiiiiiight."

I think the title was TONIGHT.
That was the sh__!
You didn't even have to spit game.
All you had to do was put that song on
and IT WAS ON!

OMG, my husband bought me a turntable for my birthday (two weeks ago) -- when my dad moved of his longtime apartment, I had to get all my records. The first two records I played were RFTW's "Oh Sheila" and Soul II Soul "Back to Life"!

The local station plays "I Found Lovin'" by The Fatback Band often, but I don't mind a-tall.:D

For those of you old enough to remember...

Does anyone remember Aaron's Hall's first CD in 93 with

"When you need me". It came out around the same time that Shai and Jodeci's (second) cd came out, so some of yall may have slept on it. If you did, YOU MISSED OUT!

That dayum "Don't be afraid" was a FOOL!

I had it on tape. I remember it all too well because I only listened to the B side for the ballads. I purchased the CD last summer for like $1 and was jamming to the ballads last week on my drive to and from work. But yes these songs were the ISHT esp. Don't BE Afraid. . .I think it's in the car. :o

CrimsonTide4 03-17-2005 04:04 PM

Going back to the year 1991, when loving AP was all that was on my mind, Launch just started playing Prince's Diamonds and Pearls. :o :o

bobbyearl93 03-17-2005 06:50 PM

I think this was out in 91, too.

"I've been searching..."

by Glenn Jones

Although my personal favorite was the song "Call Me".

Oh yeah, Remember that dayum Can You Stand the Rain?

"I know! I know! All the days want be perfect..."

That was the last time Ralph Tresvant actually contributed to a good song.

That was played on Launch today as well. That reminded me of summer after 8th grade and my love affair with Justin with the blue eyes. :o :)

Storms will come
This we know for sure
Can you stand the rain?

Y'all keep skipping the best line in the song

"Come on Baby, let's go get wet". I was always "Okay, Ronnie let's go";)

beauty_6049 03-24-2005 09:16 PM

Yeah, I loved that song. Sweet Love too!

bobbyearl93 03-26-2005 02:35 PM

I saw the Candy Girl video a few days ago.

Remember this:

"Hey everybody, check out Ricky's girl! Woooooow!
"Hey everybody, check out Ronnie's girl! Wooooow!
"......."

Then Ralph says, "Hey, what about my girl? She's bad. She's bad. She's bad, I know she's bad!"

Believe it or not, Bobby Brown has come a LONG way.

tnxbutterfly 03-29-2005 10:08 PM

I've seen recently:

the video for Whip Appeal by Babyface
Treat 'Em Right by Chubb Rock
and some video by Tone Toni Tony where they are all naked

Conskeeted7 03-30-2005 10:59 PM

I heard My My My by Johnny Gill on the radio today. I hadn't heard that in a long time.

I also heard Secret Garden. I can't remember all of the singers though.

abaici 03-31-2005 05:37 AM

Secret Garden.
El DeBarge, Al B. Sure, Larry Ingram, Barry White.

Did I miss anyone?

nikki1920 03-31-2005 10:22 AM

JAMES Ingram.. lol. Not Larry

Conskeeted7 03-31-2005 12:50 PM

Yes...that's who it was. I forgot that Al B. Sure was in that song too. I remember Debarge and Barry White, but couldn't think of the others.

strivingsf 03-31-2005 04:40 PM

There'll Never Be ~ Switch with the brother from DeBarge. When I was little my auntie would play this all the time.
