Kill yourself on the front porch of his fraternity during the social. They'll feel real sorry and bad as they cut you down.

learning2frat 02-20-2006 11:34 PM

That wasn't a very nice post. The PKA fraternity men at my school say stuff like that sometimes when I try to get into their awesome fraternity mixer social parties too. All I want to do is join a fraternity, I came here to maybe get some advice and all I get is someone who tells me to kill myself. I don't like it when you do that becuase it hurts my feelings and makes me feel unimportant.

Class #1:
An AKA
An Omega
A Delta
A DZ
Forgive me for being non-pc. This white guy said he was in a fraternity, but he didn't say which. I assume it was an IFC one.

Class #2:
I don't know.

grizzlyWG 02-27-2006 04:55 PM

No clue, I only go to class the first day, let the teacher know who my dad is and then never come back...So far i ahve a 4.0.

oldrowPHI 02-27-2006 04:58 PM

utealum 02-27-2006 04:59 PM

Suuuuure it does.

oldrowPHI 02-27-2006 05:01 PM

Worth a try. I could probably figure it out myself anyway, just for kicks. ;)

utealum 02-27-2006 05:10 PM

Well, you claim to be an Ole Miss Phi Delt. There can't be that many Phi Delts whose fathers are Ole Miss University officials...

Does Ole Miss have an Old Row? I figured he was a UA Phi, which doesn't say as much as being an Ole Miss Phi.

utealum 02-27-2006 05:19 PM

Well, he posted the Ole Miss house as "his." I would think an actual top tier fraternity active would have better things to do than brag about it on the internet, but what do I know? Maybe things have changed since I was in school.

My thoughts exactly. A true Old Row really shouldn't need to brag.

Its not bragging that hes doing, jsut setting the facts straight so certain members of the greek community (READ: GREEKCHAT) dont ruin the fun for everybody.

utealum 02-27-2006 05:33 PM

How is Greekchat ruining your fun, exactly? I thought being from a top tier Southern frat meant no one could touch you.

You're speaking of the political correctedness of many of the members here, correct? I agree, the truth isn't always so rose-colored.

oldrowPHI 02-27-2006 05:37 PM

when did i ever say that I went to Ole Miss and that the Ole Miss house that I posted was mine? Oh yea, I didn't

To an extent, yes, while im in school or my cousin, the system will remain, relatively unchanged. however, im worried that when my kid goes to college that my fraternity wont be a watered down club like many on this site and national orgs want it to be. I earned my initiation and i think other should have to earn theirs as well. Is that so wrong?

Bama fans turning to basketball as their source of pride. Must suck.

Tomsoda 02-27-2006 06:50 PM

Although I myself am not in college, I am told that there is a fair number of Greek exchange students at my local university where I lecture on occassion.

War chicken.

Haven't talked to you in a while, shinerbock. How are things on the Plains?

shinerbock 02-27-2006 07:31 PM

It's been as hot as 80 degrees down here lately. Now I understand why Yankees come down here in the winter.

AznSAE 04-15-2006 03:02 PM

the semester is about to be over, but the guy that usually sits 2 rows in front of me wore a kappa alpha order shirt today. i think he went to lsu because he always wears the shirts/hats from that school.

sigtau305 04-18-2006 01:39 PM

I have a Chi Delta Epsilon Sorority member in my Statistics Class.

PES_PLAYA 04-18-2006 07:25 PM

I go to uni and there are hardly any greeks around, and the greeks that are present in the uni are from Cyprus, but I want to meet greeks from the UK as I was born in here.

I have greek cypriot parents and can speak a little greek.

LionTamer 04-19-2006 02:10 PM

I was sitting in a math tutorial the day that bids came out, totally wound up with excitement.

I started babbling to a little freshman girl who had the misfortune to be sitting next to me. At that time, very few freshman rushed, so I didn't even bring it up. The TA read the roll, and one of the names was the guy I had been stalking the previous year. I was mortified, and told the freshman the whole sordid tale. At one point she loudly blurts out: "so who IS this Albert guy??", and he tapped her on the shoulder and pointed to himself (he had slid in behind us without me seeing). I tried to crawl under my desk and hide.

That afternoon, as the new pledges assembled in the ASA suite, I hear "Hey!!! It's my Math Buddy!!!" and there's the little freshman - one of only 2 in our pledge class.

She told me later that she came VERY close to turning around and leaving when she saw "that insane chick from math class" sitting in the suite when she arrived, but decided to tough it out.

And we're still friends years later.

Drolefille 08-30-2006 09:26 AM

Don't know about all of my classes yet, but there's an ADP in one of them. The best part? She's from St. Louis U just like me! :)

caz815nupike 10-08-2006 04:31 PM

Finally!

I haven't had Greeks in my classes for a while...and I don't think I've ever had a class with Pikes before..but now

Bus. Law 201

That's all I've noticed so far..

cutie_cat_4ever 10-08-2006 08:40 PM

One of my friends is a Chi Omega who's a engineering major (like me), and oh my, she's one of the smartest person in our class :) whenever we take tests, she would always compete with this other guy to see who finishes first. She would always (if not mostly) be the first one in the class to finish tests :)

SigKapSweetie 10-22-2006 11:00 PM

In my med school class, there's a Tri-Delta who's also from UF, a Sig Ep, and (I think) a Theta Chi.
