Me

I'm Caesar Cubillos (get it, "Cube"? )

I'm a 2-time graduate of the Univ. of Texas at El Paso was initiated at the Zeta Epsilon Zeta in Fall 1995. I served 4 semesters as High Alpha, 3 semesters as High Beta and 1 semester as High Iota. I was also IFC president for 2 years as well as IFC secretary before that for 1 year.

In addition I was on the UTEP cheerleading squad where I was an All-American in 1998. Because we got to travel so much I met brothers from chapters at NMSU, UNM, U of A, ASU, Fresno St, SMU, SEMO, TCU, Tarleton St, as well as others that I can't remember off the top of my head. Sadly, some of those chapters are now gone.

Today I run a business in El Paso that was founded by my grandfather as well as working part-time in promotions for Regent Communications -- El Paso's KLAQ 95.5 FM, KSII 93.1 FM and KROD AM 600. I just got married in September and inherited a 13-year-old son (future Lambda Chi!). My wife is pregnant and our 2nd child is due on June 19.

HONKY660 05-06-2006 03:36 PM

Alright another brother from my chapter on Greek Chat. Good to see you on here Ceasar, I have seen ya since your wedding brother.

Cube TX 05-08-2006 10:09 AM

well...

Well, I didn't WANT to see you after that fluke of a Super Bowl win by the lousy Steelers in the luckiest game in the history of modern athletics! I figured I'd have to endure a bunch of bragging!

Oh well, I'm going to be calling you sometime soon though. I just moved into a house on the west side of town and we'll be having a housewarming deal pretty soon.

Baby is due in one month!

LesStandrd 05-17-2006 09:03 PM

I'm Jon Lindahl a 2003 graduate of Denison University, Gamma Iota Zeta.

LXA has one of the strongest houses at Denison [Thanks to Brother Peter, among others, see post above]

When I was initiated in the fall of 2000, I was our 16th member in a struggling house, today there are over 50 brothers with the highest fraternal GPA on campus.

I wish they would just get their act together and get all the great things they do posted in the Cross & Crescent. Maybe we can get them to at least post here!

I've never been prouder to be a brother of Gamma Iota!

TheReverend 03-05-2007 05:26 PM

Hey everyone,
I just signed up here on GC so I thought I'd introduce myself - I'm the current High Theta here at the Pi-Beta Zeta at the University of California, San Diego. I was a founding father for this chapter when we were colonized almost two years ago, and was our first High Phi (probably explains my deep love for our Ritual). Since we're so young, we are still trying to establish that solid foundation to last (ie more solid by-laws, Watermelon Bash, venues for Ritual), but have accomplished a lot over the last 2 years such as developing a solid recruitment plan, having some pretty amazing parties, and raising over 3,000 pounds for NAFD - over double what we did our first year. Lambda Chi Alpha is becoming a force to be reckoned with on our campus.

We are also actively looking to strengthen relationships with all brothers in San Diego, both alumni and undergraduate. If there are any alums on this board living in San Diego - we want to talk to you! Also, any SD undergrads - hit me up!

In Zeta Alpha Chi,
Ittai Barzilay
Pi-Beta 2

Tom Earp 03-05-2007 05:30 PM

Brother Ittai, it is good to see you on site and welcome!

May have to chat sometime!:D

Love That area of California as you may know!:)

Dave J 1233 03-06-2007 01:48 PM

Hello.

Hey everyone, I'm from Alpha Omega Zeta at Ohio University. I also just recently joined GC and strangely enough I'm also the High Theta for my chapter, though not by personal choice. The office of High Theta has pretty much been flatlining at our Chapter, so the reason that I got the job was because they believe I can fix it, even if this is just my second year in Lambda Chi. I too hold a deep love of the ritual and I've already told all of my brothers in no uncertain terms that I'm going for Phi next time.

Yours in ZAX,
David Jones

Tom Earp 03-06-2007 03:33 PM

Welcome aboard GC and the LXA thread!!!!:D

There is no unimportant Officership in a Zeta, they are all equal in having jobs to do!:)

Even though I never held an officership in LXA, just President of the local, I would love to be High Rho today if I was in college today.:)

Truely one of the most underated and most important job today!

LO AM 03-15-2007 02:05 AM

Hi Everyone. I'm an associate member of Lambda Chi Alpha-Lambda Omega Zeta chapter at Central Michigan University. I rushed this semester as a first semester Junior. I decided I wanted to get more involved on campus and meet more people. I've met some of the coolest people this semester and am excited for the upcoming greek week and everything else that's going on before the semester is done.

Thread is one where a topic is posted such as this one and then posts are added to it.:) .

Hey all,

I'm Brendon DiVincenzo, and I am a new initiate of the Alpha-Iota chapter at Northwestern. I'm generally all about making the house as sweet as possible. I am also a founding member of Formula SAE here, and that is really the reason I'm not an officer. You guys can IM me at: The NU Mafia and my e-mail is bdivincenzo@gmail.com.

My current project for the house is getting a golf cart :D

Any one from Rose-Hulman around here? I need to talk to an alum or officer from Theta-Kappa Zeta. Any suggestions?

EM1843 05-21-2007 12:14 PM

I think it's about time that this thread be un-stickied and restarted. Too many people have come and gone and I don't recognize some of the newer posters. Also we should refrain from posting things other than just a general introduction to keep the thread short and easy to browse.

Does anyone else agree?

Ottor 246 05-21-2007 12:25 PM

Yes. While it's good that we come on here and discuss stuff in a conversational way, we do tend to get drawn off-topic. I say start a new thread, and ask our moderator (for this thread only) to delete unrelated posts.

JonoBN41 05-21-2007 12:26 PM

Yes, I agree, although it may not have to be restarted, just cleaned up. I asked Tom a year ago to go through and delete all his Howdies (which are nice, but they don't need to stay there for long) so it's easier to look someone up. He declined to do so.

I think all we need is for a moderator to go through every now and then and get rid of all the irrelevant fluff - keep it nice and clean and easy to reference.

Sorry, thread jacking has always been a bad habit of mine.

Tom Earp 05-21-2007 03:08 PM

Well, I do not have to worry about that any more!

If not saying howdie to Brothers is bad, then I should have been more attenative!:(

Sorry.:o

What's up everybody? My name is Shane Foley. I just finished 5 years on staff and wanted to say hello. I have read the postings here, but have never posted. In fact, I have often been amused by some of the comments and inaccuracies that have been written. I have also noticed that people were dead on with their comments. I would be happy to answer any questions people may have as my perspective may be quite a bit different from what you have heard before.

GammaZeta 06-29-2007 11:54 PM

"I have often been amused by some of the comments and inaccuracies that have been written. I have also noticed that people were dead on with their comments."

I guess everything is relative...

Welcome to the board! Maybe you can use some of your insider knowledge to help some of the newbie members break through some of the "red tape" at HQ?

For those of us unfamiliar with you or those who have never dealt with or met you, maybe you could tell us more about your former position(s)?
