Good news, everyone!

February 8

Mary Anne (one of the sororities) is having an informal recruitment tonight, Wednesday, and Thursday. I will be there. I know my chances, but I'll give it a try. I might never know what will happen.

Buttonz 02-08-2005 07:57 PM

Glad to hear about you giving it a chance! Good luck and please keep us updated!

who knows what might happen?
i'm glad to see you give it a shot

I've just got back from Mary Anne, and I've enjoyed it very much. There were about 5-6 other PNMs. I was expecting more, at least 10-15. But anyway, the girls were very friendly and I felt very comfortable. They had a Mardi Gras cake and an array of fruit for the PNMs. Tonight was mostly about getting to know the girls. I talked to them about school, hometowns, sports, music, and all that stuff. I avoided the killer B's, of course. They told me about the Chili cookout that will take place next week. They have invited me to the cookout.

Now, I will be back tommorrow and Thursday.

On a side note, you guys were right about informal recruitment.I feel much better with informal recruitment than with formal recruitment, because I don't get rushed with IR and you get to know the sisters more, like in an hour as opposed to 10-15 with FR.

fingers and toes crossed for you

Some people just thrive in an informal environment. We've met great sisters through COR/COB.

Definitely. Our president is a COB girl. It's a lot easier on the sisters, too!

Well, I've just got back from day 2 of Mary Anne. There were new sets of girls than yesterday. Today, I have painted a planting pot for a philantrophy that had something to do for the environment. Also, the girls were telling me more about the philantrophy projects.

There were the same number of PNM, but there were a couple of new ones tonight.

As far as socializing were concerned, I didn't get to talk much as I did yesterday, but I got to talk enough. (I'm usually quiet, but when a person gets to know me, then I talk.)

Now, tommorow, I will have to dress to the nines because the sisters are doing some type of rituals. So it's black dress pants and pink dress top for tomorrow.

A little secret, many of the sisters were from last semester's pledge class.

sounds like a big night.
enjoy it...and perhaps you will have a new home.

I'm going to assume that the party is a Pref Party of sorts. We do "rituals" for our Prefs. I think often the term "ritual" is loosely thrown around.

February 10

I've just got back from tonight's events. This time the event was shorter than Tuesday's and Wednesday's events. The sisters were dressed in very nice clothes, and so did I. We talked about everything, just like we did the previous days. All of the sisters from last semester's plege class and some from other pledge classes were there. I had some mini pastries and lime sherbert punch.

25 minutes later, the ritual began. And that was all.

Well, I really enjoyed tonight. I hope things go well.

mmcat 02-11-2005 08:22 AM

all the best of luck to you and mary anne.

So what is the next step? Did they say they would call you? Are they giving out bids soon? I am so nervous!!! Jeez I hope this works out!

KSUViolet06 02-11-2005 07:17 PM

Okay, usually I don't get too into these threads, but this one here has me on pins and needles! Good luck, and update soon.

I don't think it was necessary to mention that. This is her rush thread. It should be up to her to decide when and if to post about whether she got a bid or not.

I think we pretty much figured that bids had been extended since the events were finished. So, she either got one and is busy or she may not want to post for a while for a number of reasons if she did not get a bid. But, I feel it should have been left up to her to post about bids getting handed out.

We should keep in mind that rush threads involve real people with real feelings.

Sorry guys. I was away on the weekend because I had to go to a funeral. So I'll let you guys know soon.

Rollergirl2001 02-14-2005 03:46 PM

Hi, guys. Well, sorry to say, but I didn't get in. I wasn't called back. Well, I guess this is goodbye for me on greekchat.com. If this site is up and running when I go through AI, I'll be back. Until then, I'm leaving you all for now.

astroAPhi 02-14-2005 04:08 PM
