It breaks my heart over and over again to hear about PNM's dropping out of FR because they didn't get invited to top tier houses, and if more of them were like you, I think they would see that one of the smaller chapters could be a perfect fit.

Hey yall!

Today was SO crazy and stressful. Sorry for not updating yall sooner, but I have been really busy and this is the first chance I've gotten to post!

This morning we all went to convocation. Out of the four sororities I visitied last night, I was invited back to:

Rodeo
Pecan

I was sad that I wasn't invited back to cowgirl, but I guess it just wasn't meant to be! Of course, I was thrilled to have been invited back to two chapters here!! Here's what happened this night (pref night):

Rodeo- I still really like the girls here and feel very at home with them. They are very sweet girls and I hope they know that I am truly interested in their chapter. They had some really awesome decorations and I loved getting to talk with the girls some more!

Pecan- This is a wonderful chapter at UT and the girls seem like a lot of fun. Pref night here was very emotional and heartfelt - a lot of girls cried! I was happy to be invited back here, but I know 100% that this chapter is not what I am looking for. I am honored to have gone this far in this chapter at UT, but it is not what I want....

After that, we all went to pref convocation. I know in my heart that I want to be a part of rodeo...so.....I "suicide bidded" for rodeo. My stomach is absolutely in knots tonight that I won't receive a bid tomorrow! But, I know that I did the right thing for myself, so hopefully everything will work out ;)

Yall are so sweet and encouraging! Thanks for the kind words! I'll keep yall updated BUT I might not be able to post until really late tomorrow night...Thanks again for everything yall :) :)

question though for the others reading this thread, if she suicided Rodeo and doesn't recieve a bid can she still possibly be snapped bidded by houses who didn't reach quota?

I dont think so. I think she may be only eligible for Rodeo for a bid or COB if they dont make quota(and has not received a bid from them).

I dont know, but she MAY be eligible for COB parties if the other groups she preffed with do not make quota, though I doubt it. HOwever, they usually know who suicides and who doesnt, so if they see she suicided Rodeo, they will think she doenst want to be in their chapter and may not bother with an invitation? Know what I mean?

As it was explained to me though(because I did suicide for Theta on my bid card) If I didnt receive a bid, and they didnt achieve quota or chapter total, then I would be eligible for Theta COB parties but not a snap bid. I happened to get very lucky and get a bid so I didnt have to worry about the rest, but suiciding is very high risk and you have to be aware and be willing to accept the consequences/possible disappointment of doing so, because I would say most of the time it's not always a favorable outcome.

Women who attended more than one preference party, but single preference are not eligible for snap bidding. However, she should be eligible for COR with any chapter that is eligible for COR. I hope it works out for her. Suiciding is risky and not advised. But, it works out for many women and I hope it works out in this case. Good Luck!!!!

That just sounds so... wrong. ;)

I suicided, too, and it worked out better than fine. Sometimes the way rush plays out... you end up with final choices at which you only feel comfortable with one.

You might cut/get cutted early on from groups that would be a good fit, but didn't seem like it at the time. Then as rush goes on, you realize that the other places aren't as good a fit as they seemed in the beginning.

I hope that utexasgirl ends up as happy as I did! :)
