Rose-Our Founder's Day celebration is this Saturday! Can't wait!
Bud-I'm running a 10K next Saturday.
Thron-We may be moving to West Virginia for Mr.RN's job. They're in no hurry to tell us though.:mad:

rose - UGA DG's anchor slam is friday :) :)
bud - my boyfriend and i may be fostering the cutest little beagle!
thorn - i'm poor. and i have a HUGE test tomorrow!!!

Rose = Gamma Epsilon (Kent State) was awarded the Kent State Organization of the Year at their banquet this past week. AWESOME!

Rose = I passed my Praxis III teaching exam and can now get my professional 5 year license!

Rose = We pick up our new puppy Charlie tomorrow. He's a Salt and Pepper Mini Schnauzer and is 7 weeks old!

Bud = Looking forward to finally being able to celebrate Founder's Day next Saturday. It was postponed due to weather. Found out that my little and another good friend will be coming in town from the DC area for it!
Oh and it is also the Akron Alumnae Association's 100th anniversary.

Thorn = Back in the job hunt again.....boo!

Rose: Chris just found out that it is VERY likely that we will be relocating before December (YAY! I'm getting out of central Maryland!!!) -- to EUROPE! Hopefully soon I can get more specific!

Bud: Only 5 more Monday's before schools over for the year! I'll miss my kids (well, some of them). It's been my hardest year as a teacher so far and I'm DYING to have it done!

Bud: Chris and I are not acting on it yet, but we have done serious baby talk - I'd say by this time next year, God willing, I might have a bun in the oven! :-) Maybe. Haha!

Thorn: My kids are crazy at school this week! I had to send a kid to the office for the first time ever. Gah!

CJ, Europe??? How cool!! Do you know where yet?
I am envious!!! Want to switch places with me, har har!

Rose- I finished my first year of university and wrote my last final exam of the semester!
Bud- I have an array of birthdays to look forward to this weekend, and sometime in May I'm going skydiving with two of my dg sisters!
Thorn- my boyfriend and I broke up this past week, and it has been BLIZZARD snowing outside [usually the snow is gone by now!]

Yeah, we are psyched! We are not 100% sure of the location yet. We should know more in the next 1-2 months. We always knew it was a vague possibility, but his bosses are really putting the pressure on now, so it's looking like a real chance!

Rose: I just finished my first year as a school counselor!
Bud: On June 13, I will be a HOMEOWNER! I just bought my first house!
Thorn: But that means I have to pack up everything!!

Rose: 5 more days of school until summer!!!

Rose: I'm still looking for a job for the fall, however, I did get hired by a district close to our house to do summer school for two weeks. Hopefully that will get my foot in the door.

Bud: Charlie starts puppy school in June!

Thorn: I have to start cleaning up my classroom and moving things home. It's sad that I have to leave my kiddos!

Rose: I was just named vp:Foundation of my alumnae chapter! :)
Bud: I close on my house THIS FRIDAY!!! Can't wait :D
Thorn: packing! :mad:

Rose: I'm going to be a mommy!
Bud: February 28th is the due date!

Yay CJ!!! I have been dying to congrats you, but my Facebook is jacked, and I didn't want to say anythig here until you announced. CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Oh, and if your morning sickness is heinous, get your doc to give you some Zofran!! It will make life more pleasant!!

Rose: I got a new job! I'm a Title One Tutor for Grades 3, 4, and 5! I just started this past Tuesday so I'm really trying to get my stuff together so I can set my schedule and start pulling my kiddos!

Thorn: Please keep my uncle in your prayers. He has been in and out and is currently in the hospital with mega heart problems. He just had an emergency surgery yesterday to get a leg pump put in which also moved him to the top of the heart transplant list at University Hospital in Cleveland. If he doesn't get a compatible heart in two weeks he'll have major heart surgery. Thanks!

Rose - YES WE DID!

Bud - I applied for several jobs this weekend, as well as an auto loan, so I'm excited to see if any of these things come to fruition!

Thorn - I'm behind on pretty much all of my bills and one loan in particular that I know I could just pay off if I made an effort...very frustrating!

Thorn: Update on my uncle....he passed away on Friday around 6:25pm. Please keep my family in your prayers. His youngest son just welcomed his first son yesterday around 5:30pm (not even 24 hrs after his father passed away). He is really struggling (along with my aunt and the 3 other boys and their families....as well as my mom) with being happy about his son but not having his dad there to meet him.

I'm so sorry for your loss, you and your family are in my prayers.

Rose: I got director of rituals for the 2009 year!
Bud: I'm going to see my boyfriend this weekend and going to the OSU-Michigan game!!! GO BUCKEYES!
Thorn: apartment hunting is not easy and we're feeling a time crunch...

Rose = I leave for Ireland tomorrow for a month long internship.
Bud = Not quite done packing and people wanting me to do things all day that do not consist of packing.
Thorn = My poor little puppy is trying to unpack me because he hates it when I leave. It makes me feel like such a mean person.

Rose: HannahGirl is coming to visit today (and she'll stay for the weekend!!)! Yay!

Bud: Father's Day is Sunday and I can't wait to give my husband his first Father's Day present:

Thanks, yep, I took them! I bought the letters at Michaels and caught Alex when he was in a happy, smiley mood right after a nap!

I'm going to go in the opposite direction today.....mix it up a little!

Thorn - still have 3 weeks of grad school. plus the day after my last class is my first official start back to work. ugh....no rest for the wary! and I have yet to do anything around the house that I want to get done this summer. 14 credits of grad school in one summer....don't think it'll happen again!

Bud - even though school is coming quick....I'm looking forward to going back! I can't wait to see my kids and my co-workers!
At the end of this 14 credits, my teaching license will not be PK-3 anymore. it will have 4th and 5th added to it!

Rose - my license is going to be changing for the better! hooray!
Football season is about to begin!

I'M PREGNANT!!!!! We are due in February....no official date yet but I'm thinking around Valentine's Day. Hopefully I'll have a picture after my next doctor's appointment on Aug 13th.

Thorn = I have to deal with my crazy crazy English professor as I stumble through a paper that she refuses to properly explain.

Crashing a bit but I just wanted to share a funny DG-related story... I suppose it's a rose for something cool that happened, and a thorn for the people involved not having a clue!

A few months ago we were launching a new project at work called "Project Anchor". Our company colors are a bunch of bold bright colors: blue, lime, gold, orange, pink, etc. The project manager was tasked with finding a blue anchor with a pink rope and was searching all over the internet without luck. She asked me if I knew where to find one, and my first thought was "that's the Delta Gamma symbol and colors!" They had no idea (GDI's) until I mentioned it, and I had to show them deltagamma.org as proof. They wound up changing the colors so as not to infringe :D It was one of those moments that still makes me laugh a few months later.

Just wanted to share some Panhellenic love :) And back to your regularly scheduled programming!

I have to go in reverse order here.

Thorn: I got fired from my job. This is in the wake of my separation from my husband, who took the sole car the two of us shared, and kept the house too, so I was crashing at a friend's and relying on her for rides to and from work. The loss of my job couldn't have come at a worse time.

Bud: I applied for an Anchor Grant. I'm hoping that the people writing my letters of recommendation do so in a timely manner.

Rose: A friend's mother is the director of a daycare center in the town I'm now staying in with my parents, and a girl who works there put in her two-weeks' notice today...so he texted me this afternoon to say I could start Monday! God is amazing! This center is within walking distance from my parents' house, so not having a car won't be much of an issue. I read a Bible verse this week that gave me DG chills..."We are cruelly attacked, but not without hope; we are made low, but not without help." 2 Cor 4:9.

Y'all keep me in your thoughts please! LITB ladies!
