my biggest annoyance...crowded trains (taking the T at rush hour or on the day of a Red Sox game is awful).

can't think of anything else that annoys me more

definitely agree..

although i'd like to add:

1. the people who try to get on the train when you're still trying to get off and then give you dirty looks when you try to get past them to get off.

2. people that either get off the train and stop right in front of the door or right at the bottom of the stairs so you have to stop short and then try to get around them. i find this happening all the time at park street.

lazy people who refuse to try

hard headed people who refuse to consider change.

absolutely - people who give you weird looks when they're standing by the door and you're trying to get off.

there are also the people who try to squeeze on the train when it's already packed, and give you a dirty look because you won't move, even though you're so close to the other person you feel like you should buy them dinner.

i'm also a huge fan of the people on who stand on the steps of the green line trains and don't move when the door opens even though there's plenty of room for them to move in the train, so it's impossible to get on or off the train thereby causing it to take forever for people to get on or off.

Especially when they're talking to other people and look at you like you're just interrupting their conversations. I've even seen people use their kids as buffers, surround themselves with children so they don't get pushed out of their space.

These are all big reasons why I walk to work now - luckily my apt. isn't too far from the medical area.

yeah i need to figure out the best way to walk to work and just start doing that. or move to cambridge. i'm so tired of the green line.

It really is the worst, especially the B line...I don't know why, it seems like there are more tourists on the B line than other lines.

The C and D lines don't get too bad; however too many of the D line stops are in desolate locations (even though it goes through nice areas, like the Chestnut Hill stop).

never been on the D line. sometimes i take the C line to harvard st. and walk from there to comm ave to avoid the B line. there are just too many stops and too many annoying BU students on there at times, no offense or anything!

Haha, none taken, I remember how it was trying to get around B.U. on the T. Especially going out to Case or a hockey game (if I was feeling lazy).

I'm right off the C line so that's what I usually take, but sometimes I get on the D if no C is coming or if I'm doing a job out in the Chestnut Hill/Brookline High School area. Some of the T stops are in pretty empty areas, so at night it can get kinda sketchy (which you wouldn't think).

kddani 06-24-2004 11:23 AM

One of my biggest annoyances on here is people who call other people racist just because they don't agree with their views or opinions.

Dionysus 06-24-2004 11:43 AM

When people put their feet on the dash board.

When people get all of the got damn food at buffets. I've known some people to bring foil whenever they hear "free food!"

When people park their pick-ups and motorcycles on their front lawn. That makes our neighborhood look tacky! I'm glad we're moving soon.

When people won't shut up in the movies.

When people sling their hair, especially when there is food around.

On a much smaller scale, on-campus transit is frustrating when the bus is overcrowded and the people near the doors are forced off the bus to allow people off, only to be pushed out of the way when people try to get on the bus. I mean, hey, I was being nice and getting of the bus...don't you try to take MY spot!

Mypeeves

-Dirty bathrooms
-People who chew with their mouths open
-People who smack when they eat
-Greek Life Advisors who know nothing about NPHC, LGLOs or MGLOs...ummm isn't that apart of your job??

ThetaPrincess24 06-24-2004 07:46 PM

My biggest annoyance right now are these two girls that sit together in my microbiology lab.............if those two would shut the hell up, and listen to what the lab instructor has to say, we would get out early every day (Lab runs from 9:30 to 11:25am monday - thursday) and move the labs along faster............

One day last week, everyone was looking at one of the girls giving her a dirty look to shut the hell up, and she said, "I swear I'm smart and not stupid. I make good grades." Well there is a difference between memorizing material and spitting it back out on an exam and actually applying the knowledge you have gained. Her statement means nothing........I hope she quits the program because i dont want her being a nurse and the possibility of her having to work on me one day..........

Not sure what the heck you're talking about. I was simply applauding something that I found entertaining. "Calling someone out" on the internet is kind of silly, don't you think?

Now, the way this thread has been going, you're about to "call me out" for saying I wasn't "calling anyone out". Prove me wrong and I'll be a happy man.

preciousjeni 06-25-2004 11:20 PM

kt, I wasn't trying to be mean!!! I was referring specifically to the "And that's not a compliment." There have been some nasty things said on all sides, so if you're going to comment, it would be good to make comments on ALL the nastiness. :)

Well, I didn't think there were any comments that Imperial had made that were worthy of my praise.

He's just not witty enough to generate anything notable. So far, I've seen equivelant comebacks to Pee Wee Herman's standby "I know you are but what am I".

If I see something noteworthy, and I am watching... I will award points.

ETA: Imperial, I'm not trying to slap at you or anything man, I'm just saying that if you're going to play with these guys, you need to crank it up a few notches. And I'm not talking about 4-letter words.

I'm not really sure what anyone is trying to prove anyhow. This thread has started (like many before it) to be pretty pointless.

when people who themselves are weak of heart try and challenge someone else's manhood. you shouldn't attempt to call anyone out on this site if you're too much of a bitch that you have them on ignore.

and before anyone talks about how i should call them out....

rudey is a grade A bitch. coming to my frat's forum in attempt to call me out, but this idiot still has me on ignore.....uuhhhh, evidently someone didn't learn how to add. i'm glad your day has been affected by my comments. i will continue to be silent on my comment due to the fact that it pisses you off to no end, and this hissy fit that you're throwing is showing your feminine tendencies more and more. stop showing your panty lines, bitch. your heart pumps kool aid and as i've said before, you shouldn't call anyone out because you yourself are less than a man.

oh well, be offended.

When folks REALLY think that they're good at insulting people by poking fun at when they use slang on a message board.

Dionysus 06-26-2004 10:34 PM

When people think it's cool to call out people on the internet. Real cool and classy people GOSSIP! It does not matter where. It can be on different websites, IM, email, telephone, or even in real person! Hell, when I met two GCers in real life we stayed up until 3am gossiping about other GCers. It's double cool when someone acts buddy-buddy to the same people who they talk shit about! :D

Imperial1 06-26-2004 10:41 PM

When people wanna be my enemy on gc and then put on a mask and try and be cool with me on another message board.

I'm getting bored with people being mean to each other on GC. It used to annoy me until it started to happen several times a day.

Dionysus 06-26-2004 10:51 PM

When people have delusions that people are either for them or agaisnst them...when in reality the person feels neutral.

So it doesn't annoy u no more that it happens?

Imperial1

Peaches-n-Cream 06-27-2004 12:08 AM

No, it doesn't annoy me anymore due to the overwhelming frequency. I'm numb to it sometimes and confused by it other times. Lately, I have almost come to expect it. I think that the hostile and snide remarks make the greekchat experience less pleasant. I hope that it will end soon.

cutiepatootie 06-27-2004 12:26 AM

I agree with peaches n cream this constant bickering on here and members being snide to one another is annoying

another annoying thing currently at this very moment is the fact it is almost 9:30 at night and 2 houses down from me is throwing one big LOUD wedding reception in their backyard. Houses are so close you can reach out and touch the other one. In this heat i am forced to shut the doors and windows and listen to rap and R&B and all that kind of annoying music....should go out and blast my country music so they all leave and take their cars with them all parked up and down the street blocking my driveway

Hell, rap and r&b ain't the only annoying music when it's loud. Shoot, heavy metal and square dance folk music can work a sleepy nerve. Wanna know why I wasn't offended by your calling rap and r&b annoying music?

Imperial1

cutiepatootie 06-27-2004 12:45 AM

Hell i dont care if your offended by my remark i detest music like that. It is crappy music and the base is vibrating my house and waking my 4 yr old up. that is unacceptable especially in a quiet nieghborhood like this with tons of houses with little kids and at this time of night.....there is a thing called RESPECT for your neigbors .....added no one was informed of this reception and no one was informed that the entire street would be lined with cars all belonging to that reception.

I actually wasn't offended by it. I think most of the rap and r&b you hear on the radio nowadays lacks creativity. However, you still could've just said that they keep blasting their music really loud. The genre of their music is irrelevant to the fact that their playing it loud. Don't act like country music don't have base to it. That same base country music has vibrates the same way rap and r&b's base does.
