Yep... the thought is that they were staged somewhere in the UK...

Six of the reasons cited are:

1) wrong headdress for troops (ie. the hat was wrong for troops in Iraq)
2) the vehicle that the pictures were taken in hasn't been deployed outside of the UK
3) the troops and "prisoner" seemed exceptionally clean
4) photos seemed to be of unusually high quality
5) the troops weapon was "marked" for a comabt zone (stencile of serial on butt).
6) the troops boots were laced incorrectly too.. British (and some Canadian) military practice is to have the laces straight across, not criss-cross.

It seems the press and media in England has been quite good at not checking facts and making things up lately.

Well it was the Mirror  which I like to think of a Enquirer that tried to break into the "legit" market.... but just couldn't shake that tabloid feel of reporting.

Oh well thats what they get they go for sesationalism over substance....

I think that it is easier to tell in better pictures. When stuff gets "grainy" and people fuzz stuff out, it's harder to tell the real from the fabricated.
