BlairLynn 07-28-2004 06:41 PM

I'll be rushing this fall for the first time. I'll keep you guys posted.

TriDeltaGal 07-31-2004 11:46 PM

Good Luck! I can't wait to read all of your stories!

breathesgelatin 08-02-2004 12:46 PM

BUMPED because I'm making HUGE edits and updates to the thread today... Sorry for the delay, but thanks to everyone who has posted information! :)

velli2004 08-02-2004 12:50 PM

I'm rushing in a couple of weeks at LSU!

breathesgelatin 08-02-2004 01:29 PM

Another bump to say: I'm adding the start dates for all the recruitment stories--if you know the start date for a recruitment I couldn't find, please drop me a PM and I'll edit it appropriately!

Multiple, multiple bouquets of violets to breathesgelatin for her amazing job at being the "Keeper of the Recruitment Stats"!!!

gphiangel624 08-03-2004 01:23 AM

Just an FYI, recruitment at UC Riverside starts October 1 (which is info night).

KatieKate1244 08-03-2004 07:30 PM

I'll be rushing this fall at WVU Tech. At least I think its the fall, I've not been able to find much information on greek life there.

twhrider13 08-04-2004 12:45 AM

Just wanted to say that it doesn't look like my friend is going to be able to go through rush. She was looking forward to it, but things happen. Also, Jax State's rush is from August 26-29. :)

efcheerBB 08-04-2004 01:17 PM

breathesgelatin,

Amazing job with keeping up with all of the recruitment threads and everything. Thanks for keeping all the rush threads organized for those of us who are addicted to rush stories.

I'm rushing this fall!

I'm rushing this fall at the University of Florida. I am super excited!! I'm just starting to get nervous about the tough competition. I've heard that it is very cut-throat. Any advice on how to approach the situation. Do many girls not get placed in a sorority?
And... is anyone else rushing at UF? I'm afraid that I do not know anyone and would love to make some new friends beforehand!!

lyrica9 08-06-2004 02:34 AM

hey, "lyrica9's friend at mizzou" has registered! her sn is texlahoma.

breathesgelatin 08-10-2004 10:43 AM

OK, general opinion poll based on a PM I've got.

Please PM me if you have a strong opinion one way or the other on this issue and I'll tally the results in a few days and change the thread accordingly.

Would you rather have:

A list of PNMs arranged alphabetically

OR

A list of PNMs arranged by recruitment start dates

Thanks for playing! :D

astroAPhi 08-10-2004 02:35 PM

Start dates.

ETA: But after they get their bids I think it would be a great idea to put them in alphabetical order.

So I was talking to my co-worker today and she MIGHT go through recruitment this year. She will be attending Baldwin-Wallace in Berea, OH. She isn't sure of the time that she'll have with school and playing tennis, but she might go through to at least check it out. I told her that there was nothing wrong with starting recruitment and deciding that you might want to wait a year before actually joining. She is very open to the idea so I'm hoping that she will go through with it.

I told her to keep me posted on what she decides and also to fill me in if she goes through.

ETA to add dates and chapters:

Baldwin-Wallace College - Berea, OH

September 30 - October 4

5 NPC Sororities:
Alpha Gamma Delta
Alpha Phi
Delta Zeta
Phi Mu
Zeta Tau Alpha

honeychile 08-15-2004 10:51 PM

Shouldn't this thread be stickied? I know that I depend on it during Recruitment Season!

tatianamik 08-15-2004 11:01 PM

My two cousins both decieded at last minute not to rush.

UGA Rush

Ok, so the first two days of Rush are over....the first round is done! 18 houses in two days was completely hectic. We had to report for breakfast at 6 :30 am.
Day one was from 6 am to 6 pm, we were able to ride buses most of the days, and all the houses had snacks and water outside, so that was nice.
The door songs were all so cute, really loud, but fun. There were about 50 girls in my group that traveled from house to house so the sisters were able to switch PNMs and WE were able to meet a lot of girls in each of the houses. Some of the houses simply said "Hi how are you, where are you living" and then passed us off to a sister. Other houses the PNM's were introduced to two or three different girls and the conversations were much more substantial.
Tomorrow morning we have another 6 am day, breakfast and then a meeting with our rho chi's at 6 30.
Potentially, we have the opportunity to visit 12 houses for house tours tomorrow, for our round two, but we've been warned that 75% of the girls will not be invited back to 12. I'm not so sure that there are twelve houses I like enough to go back to, but I am TOTALLY excited to see the houses!
All the girls have looked so cute, the first day (Saturday) most girls wore cute sundresses, from Lilly, Anthropologie, Gap etc. Today (Sunday) was noticably more casual, a lot of girls wore skirts...including me.
A cute thing our Rho Chi did, was to have us guess which sorority she's in on a piece of paper, after we had visited all the houses today...
well I need to get my 5 hours of sleep!
until tomorrow

Fun! Thanks for the update and I hope everything goes well in second rounds! :)

breathesgelatin 08-16-2004 04:16 PM

We have a bunch of recruitments in actions right now, but not many threads. I think PNMs are learning to come here for advice but not necessarily to broadcast their entire lives--that's a good thing! Anyway, I will post everything I get to the thread and let me know if you've pledged anywhere even if you're not doing a thead! :)

FSUZeta 08-16-2004 04:17 PM

thanks for posting bayley!!

best wishes for an awesome recruitment!!please keep us updated if you can.
