next time let me know so i can let you guys know about Deaf day so we can go to Disney really really CHEAP!! ;) and meet up with each other.....also if some of you are taking ASL, it would count for credit or just simply be around deaf people/ learn about their culture or some signs!!! Me and my girls went to SO CAL recently for deaf day at disney and six flags magic mountain!!

Is the event just limited to Greeks? I guess in a way it'd make more sense only because that way everyone has something in common...the fact that we're all Greek... But I just want to get a general idea if I could possibly bring someone who isn't affiliated with any Greek organization

You can definitely bring someone who isn't Greek. Just make sure I know he/she is coming with us so I can include him/her in the count. And give me a name or something so we know who is coming with you.

I'm not going to be able to make it this time, after all. The young adults ministry that I'm a part of (okay, basically the secretary and administrator of) is holding our summer bbq at the beach that day, and I have to be down there early to help reserve the spot and see that everyone's having fun :D

Hopefully I'll be able to make it next time (let's plan another one for later in the summer, okay? :cool:

This turnout is pretty awesome. I'm sorry that you can't make this one polarpi, but hopefully another later in the summer. Definitely a plan.

I am still VERY insistent that I will be going to this gathering. I just got a new job and work Saturdays from 9-9, but I'm going to see what I can do to get off early, probably no earlier than 4 which would put me at House of Blues around 4:30ish... I don't forsee this as a problem (getting off work early), but it's still a new job, so who knows.

I'll let you guys know for sure by the end of this week... but if I end up being ::cough cough:: "sick" that day, oh well. :rolleyes:

Bobby and I were discussing this the other day, but how would you all like to meet since we all dont know each other. Back in Boston, for adpi get togethers someone would bring blue and white balloons and tie it to one of the chairs at the table so people who showed up late would know who we were. I know at previous gatherings people have worn letters, but if there is going to be drinks invovled I dont know about anyone else but I will not be wearing mine. Thoughts? Suggestions?

hbadpi: We could have some sort of signal markers like you said with the balloons so that late arrivals will be able to spot us once inside the restaurant. Or someone could leave their name at the front entrance and that person would be the main contact person. And I am quite sure that at least a few of us will be wearing letters so that's another signal marker too.

We could probably do what HBADPi has said and just have someone's name at the front of the restaurant or something. That, or if one or two people want to wear letters, that's fine (I won't be wearing mine that night). I'm just going to be looking for Bobby since I know him all ready, but if anyone has a better suggestion?

As for how to find each other....Generally, the first set of people to arrive just stand around out in front of the restaurant for a bit. You have to have a little bit of courage and just look at the other people standing around and say "GC?" Sometimes someone will be wearing their letters or a lavalier; that helps. Trust me, we'll find each other!

If I'm remembering correctly there is a fountain in front of the House of Blues we can meet over near there. I will be wearing my Phi Sig letters and will talk PhiSigScooby, MareImbrium, and SapphireSphinx in to wearing theirs so just look for a bunch of Phi Sigs standing together near the fountain.

There are pictures of me on the GC yahoogroups photo site, in my alumna initiation thread and probably elsewhere on this site too. But, just for grins, I'll save you the effort.

This is me with my supervisor from last last day at work (at Cirque du Soeil) - the picture was taken several weeks ago. He's a funny colour because the poor thing had to stand outside for most of the day for many weeks while checking employees in and out of the site. Anyway, that's me on the left.
