Wait Kath, I lied . . . in terms of local french fry love, Michael's Frozen Custard fries are second only to Monty's Blue Plate's spicy waffle fries.

Amaaazing.

I don't eat deep fried food anymore but I might have to make an exception for those.

Interesting. I couldn't tell if it was actually on the meat.

I didn't realize people ate hamburgers with eggs so I thought maybe they mix it in with the meat or something like that.

I never knew they did until I went to Fatuburger...seems like a protein/cholesterol overload to me, but what do I know?:)

And it's the croque madame...the monsieur is just cheese and ham.

You would have loved having breakfast with my ex. He used to order eggs over easy with a rare steak. I couldn't even look at it!

I LOVE Checkers/Rally's fries. They are always good, no matter what. @ mc d's you have to PRAY for good fries. Sometimes they are great but other times they taste like cardboard.

I could kind of see that though; I guess it's like eating steak and eggs.

yeah baby.

ETA: my only beef with the Animal style fries is that they put all that shit at the top. They should put the cheese in the middle of the fries, and then mix in the yummy grilled onions and sauce...and for the hell of it another layer of cheese. Oooooh yeah.

Alright. All this talk make bobby crazy for In N Out. I'm headin over right now.

Rally's gets my vote, followed by Arby's curly fries. Unfortunately, this thread made me crave fast food!

Dayam those fries look good! Just seeing the palm tree logo is making me hungry. Those of us who only get to visit In-N-Out when we're on vacation aren't savvy (or brave) enough to order the off the menu secret specials. I was wondering if "animal style" was an urban legend that was shared with tourists so that the regulars can laugh when they try to order it!

Anything else we should know about?

Here it is. Most of IN n OUTs secret menu. Don't worry if you order these the workers won't think you are nuts.

secret menu

And Rudy, animal style fries is just french fries with that secret sauce, grilled onions and cheeze on the top. Soudns simple but its really yummy.

ETA: I use to only order the protein burger, but I got it as a 4x4. Caution, that shit gets really messy man. And it's kinda weird because the bun isn't there.

Now I just order two double doubles, but everyone ask me why I don't just eat a 4 by 4. Well, a 4x4 doesnt seem as filling.

AOX81 10-19-2005 01:53 PM

I would have to go with Arby's curly fries...yummy!!

My very favorite fries are McDonalds. I dunno, they just taste the best to me! (Though I am TOTALLY craving an animal style burger and fries after reading all this about In-N-Out.)

As far as the egg on hamburger thing goes, I'm guessing maybe it's a European thing? I had this Swedish aunt who used to insist on putting a fried egg on top of her hamburger whenever she made them. (Don't hold me to that though, I have no idea if it really is European or not!) Sounds kinda strange to me, but whatever floats yer boat...

mmcat 10-21-2005 01:17 AM

as long as the fries are hot....
i went to fudruckers a bit ago and the fries and the burger came out cold. a total disaster. but they tasted interesting.

Rollergirl2001 10-21-2005 04:22 PM

McDonald's and Wendy's

Tom Earp 10-21-2005 04:36 PM

Not fair; I wish there were In N Out's around here. I'm going to have to run and get fries of some sort after work.
