Boule 2002

I really wanted to go to Boule since this is my first one as a Soror but I do not think the prices for Boule typically fits the pockets of Undergraduates. But I will definitely go to Boule 2004 and even more Boule 2006 since it will be in my home town oF DETROIT (D-TOWN) and of course back to Washington D.C where it all started!!

PS General question...are undergraduate chapters supposed to receive funding from their Grad chapters for Regional Conferences and Boule? Just Curious!

Just trying to confirm....?

Soror are you saying Boule 2004 will be in Detroit. I am sure that it will be in Nashville, TN in 2004. I am not sure about 2006, however, it would be great if it is in Washington, D.C.

Taking it back to 1908

Skeewee Skeewee !!!

Boule 2004 is in Twang City, aka Nashville. I think Detroit is 2006. St. Louis is also on the agenda, but don't exactly know which year it is.

Dancerella1908 06-07-2002 03:33 PM

I have also heard that Boule 2006 is suppossed to be here in Detroit. That'll be alot of fun.I'm looking forward to it. :D

Sorors 2008 in in DC...it was announced at the FWRC last month. We'll be "home" for our 100th anniversary. The whole thing gives me goose bumps. Certainly that will be a Boule NOT TO MISS.

Discogoddess 06-19-2002 05:27 PM

Anyone game for a get-together?

I know this had been briefly discussed earlier, but since we're now right up on Boule, is anyone interested in gathering to put names/faces together? I'm thinking Sunday the 7th might be a good day/evening.

Btw, once you're in Orlando, look for invites to my chapter's "Supreme Soiree" to celebrate our own chapter soror, Linda M. White, as she prepares to become our Supreme Basileus!

Happydaysf91 06-19-2002 10:54 PM

I'm game...

Let me know the time and the place. I'll be there on Friday evening -- I'm arriving early so that I can attend the Leadership conference on Saturday...

Sorors:

It looks like Sunday evening is the time most of us are available.

I'm finding that many hotels on International Drive, near the convention center, don't take reservations. However, I found one that might be kind of interesting: Bahama Breeze. They serve Latin American/Carribbean food, and have live entertainment every evening out on their patio (where they serve appetizers). The wait can be more than an hour, depending on the size of the party (I was told even up to two hours for a party of 10 or more), but appetizers are served on the patio while you wait. My suggestion is that we go there after the public meeting, which begins at 6 p.m.

If you're interested in this place, somewhere else, or in just meeting at a central location and trying our luck on the I-Drive strip, please email me right away.

Looking forward to meeting you, sorors!

Discogoddess 06-28-2002 08:38 PM

Another thing...

If you're going to be around Friday or Saturday night and want to hang out, I heard that these are the best nights to go to either the BET Soundstage at Pleasure Island, the Roxy nightclub or Club 436 (don't know where these last two are, but have a contact in Orlando that can give directions).

If you're interested in hanging out, let me know via email or PM.

Jody 06-28-2002 09:53 PM

Hey sorors! I will see you at the Leadership Seminar on Saturday. I'll have on pink and green (LOL!)

Happydaysf91 06-30-2002 10:58 AM

IDEA

Since a lot of us here are going to the leadership conference....why don't we try to meet up there and maybe have coffee, snacks, lunch or etc. afterwards.

I would love to meet all of you all....

Let me know....and if there any Florida Sorors on here that are familiar with the convention hall/area where the leadership conference will be held let the rest of us know a 'good' spot that we can 'hang' around and wait on the others. We can either meet beforehand and sit together....or we can simply meet afterwards.

Let me hear from you......

Skee-ya....

Discogoddess 07-01-2002 02:57 PM

Soror Happydays:

I haven't heard back from anyone regarding my Sunday dinner suggestion, so I think it makes great sense for us to meet either before (preferable, so we can sit together) or after Leadership Training. How about lunch around 11:30 a.m.?

Btw, I'm leaving Thursday, so it would be great if we could decide on definite plans by Wednesday.

Skeeeeeeeeeeee you soon, sorors!

Discogoddess 07-02-2002 03:23 PM

Greekchat Lunch in the works...

Alright Boule-bound sorors, here's the plan:

For those of you who are free on Saturday, we will meet for lunch prior to the Leadership Training Institute. Please email me for full details.

Of course, I'm open to meeting sorors who will be arriving later than Saturday at another time, so please email me so we can touch base.

Hope to see you there, sorors!

Don't know, soror. Perhaps you or another soror can be the lead on that one. I do know that BET Soundstage and Roxy are supposed to be good night spots on Friday/Saturday nights.

SWEETAKA 07-03-2002 10:28 PM

Wednesday NIght Activity

Sorors,
The Kappas of the Winter Park Alumni Chapter are welcoming Sorors with a gathering at The Palladium International from 9pm-3am. (just don't be late to workshops the next morning) The address is 7430 Universal Blvd # 407-248-0098. This is not too far from the host hotels.

Also on a side note: Make sure you have an umbrella handy, especially during the afternoons. We have daily afternoon showers.

flyygyrl1908 07-08-2002 12:26 AM

I hope that all of you are having a wonderful and safe time at Boule. I just hate that I can't t be there with you. Let me know how everything turned out!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Much pink and green love!!!!

4ever-blessed 07-13-2002 12:48 PM

SKEEEEEEE WEEEEEE my Sorors!!!!!!

I had such a good time at Boule'. This was my first Boule' and I must say that I was sooooo impressed with my sorority. Not that I had any doubts, but now I know for sure my sorority is the absolute best. I was shown sooo much love by sorors.....and frat. Sorors, please share your thoughts on Boule' 2002.

Oh, did anyone catch the AKA helicopter at the 2nd plenary session (I think)? I just loooooved it.

Skeee weee my sorors, skeee weee!!!!

AKA2D '91 07-13-2002 01:55 PM

I had a wonderful time @ Boule, even though, Tuesday morning ( I think) I had to pay that fine.

A chapter Soror and I took pictures in the helicopter backstage after the Induction on Wednesday. Ya'll, that's another story in and of itself. Email or PM me for a "scoop". ;) :D

I haven't check out the new webpage, I guess it's the same as the presentation in Soror White's address. I did manage to get extra copies of the CD yesterday.

I purchased the commemorative medallion (3 more to go) I was  that you couldn't purchase by way of credit card.

I didn't get a chance to take picturs in front of the convention center. We were going to wait until yesterday, but by the time we got out of the closing session, it was raining. :( I did, however, get it on video.

All in all, I had a wonderful time.

:D

SWEETAKA 07-13-2002 06:31 PM

Had a great time!

I had a wonderful time at Boule--so much so I don't even know where to begin. I loved the helicopter--especially as Soror Norma White road through the crowd of Sorors who were running behind it taking pictures(really cute). The Gala was what the young folks say was off the chain--food everywhere--music everywhere and can you imagine an entire room of probably
100s +++++++ including our most beautiful Golden Sorors doing the electric slide to a live band! OMG! And oh yeah --the Alphas presented Soror Norma White with a DIAMOND necklace! For all those Sorors who made it to the welcome--how did you enjoy it? I just love being an AKA! I probably could write a book because I did not want to miss a thing. I hope all who attended had a great time as well. Those late fines earned a lot of money-----

Nitra 07-14-2002 09:06 PM

I had a wonderful time also! SweetAKA, you are absolutely correct the Gala was off the chain! I was right out there with them doing the electric slide!!! :D

I would also like to give a loud and hearty SKEE WEE to Courtney Clark (Gammu Mu Chapter-AAMU), who was elected Undergraduate Member at Large!!!!!

Discogoddess 07-15-2002 12:02 PM

Sorors:

I'm sorry I didn't get to meet more of you, but I really enjoyed having lunch with and experiencing the Leadership Training Institute with Soror Happydaysf91, and meeting Soror AlMighty14 there as well. Of course, I was happy to see my buddy, Soror LadyAKA, too!

Though I was MIA at quite a few sessions (hanging out with the hubby, brother and sis-in-law), I enjoyed the conference. Wish we could condense some stuff though, and offer an option for sorors to register at a lower price point, without getting the tchotkes (I SO WASN'T feeling that purse!).

Take care, sorors!

AKA2D '91 07-15-2002 04:11 PM

That purse! Ewwwwwww! It stinks! I hope our membership committeee exchanges gifts for Christmas, cause it will be a Christmas gift.

Soror DG, you must have missed the last session, because Soror
White did say that Boules will begin on Wednesday and end Sunday with an Ecumenical (sp?) service, that means LONGER days for "business".

I too ran behind the helicopter. :o

SWEETAKA 07-15-2002 05:00 PM

The PURSE

I kept telling Sorors that purse was not apple green. Lawd--what was they thinking'? And who was running behind the Disney characters all the way out of the building?? :)

AlMighty14 07-21-2002 11:29 PM

BOO WHO????

I was really disappointed with Boule and the many mishaps I had the pleasure of experiencing. You know what though I still managed to have a really good time dispite all the confusion,

I got to go to the B-Ball game, but HC Chamique Holdsclaw wasn't even there playing, and I followed her through UT, "Lady Vols. Our soror wasn't even there to represent... I was disappointed,
HC some fool behind kid nearly killed himself at the end to the game.
HC the kid tripped and looked like he was doing cartwheels as he fell down the stairs.
HC it was loud as all get up
anyway back to Boule 2002
I was feeling those wanna be Coach bags they were better looking than the purses we were given at the SARC,

HC the leadership conference was off da chisel my nisel 4 risel...
HC I will be saving monies for SARC (Miami), leadership (Vegas), Boule (Nashville), hope to see you guys next year at leadership....

SKEEEEEEEEEEE-WEEEEE
