Umm...I have to spend my money getting to Boule. You will probably see some repeats of what I was wearing at Leadership, with some tweaking. Those Kate Spade bags that I have will get serious wear.
:p

Soror-

I was thinking the same thing. I am having a dress shortened (I wore it at Leadership) and I am having a suit altered I wore to my regionals last year. I am queen of recycling my looks, so I am with you all the way. Gotta make do with what you have, at least that what my grandma says!

If it's pink and or green, then it's coming to Nashville. I ain't too proud to rock the same gear. No fashion show here- just substance!

I hear that. I may, however, stick with skirt suits all the way or wear my white pantsuit on a day w/a certain event isn't scheduled.

Soror, I ain't hatin' on you - if you can afford it, go for it.

Me on the other hand, I got mouves to feed! Maybe I can purchase one of the tassles. . .

Steeltrap 03-04-2004 04:02 PM

It's cute

But for $1,800, I could get several bags. I'm not a Dior saddle person. I need a bigger bag.

I'm really feeling Dooney & Bourke right now. Most of their signature items are available in pink. The signature line is really nice. The great thing about D & B is that you really don't see a lot of people rocking their bags, compared to some of the other name brands.

I got a pink D&B purse last year and wore it only to funtions/chapter and it got dirty quickly. As cute as they are, I would not purchase another one unless it was leather.

I purchased my pink purse as well last summer but my bag still looks brand new. I've carried my purse to sorority events and personal outings. I also store the purse in the bag that it was shipped in so that it won't get dirty. You may want to consider that if you don't already store your purse in the bag. Anywho, there are no specific instructions for cleaning the signature line; however you can follow any of the instructions on the D&B website. Since the cabriolet bag is made of fabric you many want to follow those instructions:

With its built-in resistance to staining, Cabriolet cloth can be easily cleaned with a damp cloth or a soft bristle brush used very gently. For greasy or more stubborn stains, use a damp, soft cloth or brush along with a mild bar soap.

I love Dooney's. I think that their leather is the most durable of all the name brands out there. I've had two, one green and one all tan. I still rock the tan one. I haven't bought a purse in a while. Hmmm....

Um, I would NEVER EVER spend $2,000 on a purse. Uh-uh. Absosmurfly not. Soror AKAnka, if you got loot like that, can you sponsor a soror for the "trip"? ;)

AKAnka 03-05-2004 11:17 PM

Sorors....I'm not ballin' like that. I just had plenty of time to save for that. I don't do things like that often. It was a gift for myself. I won't get to do something like that for at least a year.

Coach has a pink and green hampton that is really cute. Juicy has a cute pink and green bag as well. AFFORDABLE REALLY!

Soror AKAnka,

The bag you are referring to is no longer available. I have the bag but have not seen it for purchase since about 2yrs ago. Please let me know if you recently found it so I can complete the accessories.

$1800+

I have spent as much as $350 on 2 COACH bags, and 1 of the 2 carry almost daily. Enjoy the bag, I think if you casn afford it go for it. I don't particul;arly think it's an attractive bag from the pics, but I'm sure it looks better up close.

AKAnka 03-08-2004 03:32 PM

Soror if you are referring to the Dior bag. I went to Saks and they had to order it for me. The shoes if they aren't still in the store I am sure you can special order through saks as well. That is all I have seen. (bag and shoes). Oh and the pics don't do the bag justice it is def. an eye catcher.

MsRevlon08 03-09-2004 01:08 AM

Coach bag

Soror AKAnka,

I was referring to the pink and green coach bag.

WenD08 03-22-2004 01:07 PM

it's official! according to Lucky magazine, the trend is pink and green.
we know that those colors are not a "trend", they are a classic:D
i saw that Coach has a pink and green wristlet for $ 58.00. i'm debating.
it feels "plasticy", ie. i can't justify paying that much for something not
completely leather...

AKA2D '91 03-22-2004 01:45 PM

AND PEEPS HAVE SAID THAT PINK AND GREEN DOESN'T MATCH!

 :D

But I saw one of these numbers at Bloomingdale's last night. The eBay price is crazy, but so is $145 for a RUBBER bag.

I saw a cute pink and green Juicy bag in Nordstrom's yesterday.

I want the P&G Von Dutch bowling bag.

Sorors...

Banana Republic's sale started today. www.bananarepublic.com. Not much P&G, but a lot of cool pink or green things on sale.
I'm going at lunchtime, but not to get pink, strangely. I'm going to buy a white dressy bag.

Thank you so much Soror Steeltrap. My coworker was supposed to be on the lookout for this pink coat that I wanted to go on sale. Now, I've got it in addition to some other things.

Pink and Green items at Old Navy

i went to Old Navy this weekend and saw pink and green flip-flops for $ 10.50. even though i just bought some AKA flip flops, i'm still buying Old Navy's b/c they are too cute. for the DSTs, Zetas, and SGRhos, they have flip flops in red and blue, too.
also, Old Navy had cute white bags w/pink and green on them. i have lots of conference bags so i don't need one but they were cute as well.
this is such a good year for our colors:D;)

That I would agree with. Although I'm trying to be on shopping restriction because of baggage issues, etc...

So true!! Due to my recent financial mini-crisis, I have put myself on shopping restriction. However, the cloud is lifted and i am soooo happy. However, I may end up with a closet full of pink and green clothes.

Steeltrap 05-04-2004 08:19 PM

Comes in plus sizes, too

http://slimages.macys.com/products/0...=10.0&cvt=jpeg

Available at Macy's. I'm not a fan of the Lauren line (I prefer more expensive things, LOL), but this looks useful for Boule.

So is this, although it's pricey. Comes in lime green, hot pink and other colors...

as if there weren't enough pink and green items out there, there's more: Old Navy has these cute Dr. Scholls'-type sandals. http://www.oldnavy.com/asp/Product.a...30&wpid=245826 - is the link to these sandals that sell for
$ 24.50. really cute. plus, i saw some pink and green gym shoe-type shoes. i don't have price on those but they look really comfortable. a must for Boule when going from workshop to workshop;)
i swear, you'd think i work for Old Navy/Gap the way i'm pumping them up:p

HederaNaturale 05-11-2004 10:03 PM

I've had these shoes
http://akamai.ninewest.com/images/pr....MGRLPLEPD.jpg
for a few weeks now (found them the weekend AFTER Regionals... I was so mad!) but am I the only one who really can't find anything to match that green? Everything in stores seems to be a touch lighter, and even 9W acts like they're not trying to make a matching handbag. I'm so sad. :( I'm trying to get myself right for Boule! :D

AKA2D '91 05-12-2004 08:18 AM

I cannot find anything either.

However, you can always were it with a WHITE outfit. ;)

I'll find something ONE of these days. :D

Most people don't match 100% these days anyway.

Steeltrap 05-12-2004 11:37 AM

Agreed with the not matching 100%.

I've seen those shoes a few times -- haven't bought them because I haven't had time to try them on and I haven't worn 9W consistently for 10 years -- and that green does look tough to match. If you find something in a nearby green, or wear it with neutrals, that would be OK. My KS Sam green bag doesn't exactly match the green in my Lilly scarf, but I tie that scarf around anyway.
:p

Soror, have you considered finding a coordinating purse in the same shade of pink? Even if it's off a little, the pink on the shoes are such a small portion of the shoe that it would be difficult to tell if it's not an exact match.

AKA Purse

Hey,
Sorry to crash your board. I am trying to start up my own business on ebay selling sorority purses. I decided to do purses after reading the thread "stuff you want with your letters". Anyway, I just got back from Atlanta (where I buy my purses) and there were tons of pink and green purses. I guess pink and green are going to be the big colors this summer. I bought a couple of these purses and I am selling one on ebay right now if you all would like to look.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...ESSE%3AIT&rd=1

Thanks, and sorry again about crashing your board.
