I LOVE going down Memory Lane on AKA Avenue .....
Let's see .... I cried like a baby, celebrated with my new sorors (felt a little cautious with my former Big Sisters!), lost my voice skee-weeing with my shippies (yep - Chicago!), put on a ridiculous amount of pink and green para from literally head-to-toe ...and I don't remember the rest. :p
I Do remember that Fall Quarter sophmore year, I painted my single dorm room an obnoxious electric green --there were pink and green AKA accessories Everywhere, the ultimate pink and green AKA room ..."...an ivy's dream, a Soror's treasure..." Sorors loved it and prospects/ivies feared it (oh, I mean 'fear' in the nice awe-struck way heehee :D) Well, y'all know I'm old - school ...no apologies! Have a great night :) |
*bump* would love to read new responses sorors :-)

The first thing I did as an AKA was cry. The next thing I did was pinch myself because I felt like I was dreaming lol. But the first MAJOR thing I did as an AKA was attend NARC. It was amazing to see so many Sorors in the same place. AKA truly painted Atlantic City pink and green!

Yes... I can relate to the crying part! LOL...
Ahhh... NARC... I miss the north! Quote:

The first thing I did is cry and Thank God!!! The second was buy an AKA watch from the vendors that were selling at our celebratory luncheon (I am a lunch fanatic and have worn it everyday since April). Now I am on the Ways and Means Committee and being very active in the planning of our 5K Walk in September.
Of course I have been rocking the para (in some form or another) almost every day. |
Crying seems to be the common thread Sorors! I still haven't made it through the hymn....
I cried, hugged, and strolled my heart out! P. S.: Hey Boss Lady!!! |
After the crying, hugging, skee-weeing, and pics, I went to sleep!!!
|
Cried...the ugly cry...lol! Then I was soo exhausted, I just wanted to sleep! But I had to put on a ridiculous amount of para EVERY day for the next week! LOL! Oh, how I love my AKA!
|
LOL @ the "ugly cry"... yes, after waiting for what seemed like a LIFETIME... I know that final moment felt so bittersweet!
