I agree on the bread foods with no bread being lame & scary.

New rant, also food related - Fancy-schmancy, nouveau, fusion restaurants that charge $12 for 2 eggrolls with a slice of mandarin orange and a sprig of parsley. I know presentation matters, but if I'm going to give you $12 then give me a meal...not an appetizer. Southern California restaurants have gotten so snooty.

alikat2 02-27-2004 01:25 PM

So I'm kind of seeing this guy but trying to break things off with him.......but as usual am a spineless loser and having a seemingly difficult time doing so.

Is there such a thing as Dumping for Dummies?

CatStarESP4 02-27-2004 11:10 PM

We have and answering machine that we use to take messages and screen calls. There are some people (or computers) that call, get the answering maching and they either hang up or say "Hello! Hello! Hello! Hellooooooo!". For those call and leave the "Hello!" several times message, it's annoying!! Why can't they identify themselves instead of wasting their time and money uttering one word at least five times! GRRR!!!!

to all you those that doubt the awesome power of the mcgriddle..i am here to assure you they are FANTASTIC. omg delicious.

i haven't had one in at least 6 months, but omfg they are so incredibly good.

ZTAngel 03-10-2004 11:53 AM

ARGH! I hate you Sunpass (Florida's electronic toll payment system). I have $3 on it which is not enough to bring Mr. ZTAngel to the airport on Thursday. Your phone lines have not worked in the last two days and I can't pay online because I forgot my pin number and you all won't tell me what it is. What's the worst I can do with my pin number? Put money on my account??? Also, having customer service representatives that speak English would be helpful.

adpiucf 03-10-2004 12:42 PM

Why is it that all of my friends seem settled down and content with their lives, yet I can't seem to find the work I love, nor the perfect place that will make me happy?

I know, there are others out there as confused as I, but I feel like my immediate circle of friends has so much more stability than I!

alikat2 03-10-2004 01:03 PM

adpi's post kind of reminded me.....

I get so annoyed when people whose lives are so much less settled than mine, and who seem to be really struggling to get things together, give me unsolicited advice on MY life.....my job, my future plans, my social life.......it's like, graduate from college and move out of your parents' house, THEN MAYBE you may have some sort of credibility.

Lady Pi Phi 03-11-2004 11:59 AM

Dear I.T people,

Get off your lazy arses and test the system. I know you have fisxed the problem so what the hell are you waiting for?!!

Thankyou.

P.S Next time you feel like "fixing" something...DON'T!!!!

chideltjen 03-11-2004 01:53 PM

Ugh...

Spring is the season for illness! I get sick like every 3 weeks during this time of the year. Not allergies... I am talking the flu, congestion, ear infections, the works.

I got sick during Valentines day week and 3 weeks later I had the flu again. Here I am now, over the sore throat and exhaustion but now I have a serious head cold with an ear infection. On top of that... allergies. I went out to the IM fields for superbowl and my EYES were just itchy and I was coughing like crazy.

ARGHHHHH!

And to make things more interesting... I ran into a guy that I had a falling out with my last semester at school (we kinda dated, I posted about him once). We just kinda drove by each other and that was it. Stupid me tried to email him again even tho past attempts had been unsuccessful. Well he emailed me back yesterday... making it very clear that he is never home because he spends all his time at his girlfriend's after answering my question about a class he is taking this semester. I guess now he has to use her a safety net so I don't ask him to hang out anymore. Don't worrry hun, I won't be.

alikat2 03-12-2004 12:24 AM

Guys just suck.

One of my guy friends (whom I suspect is into me) just got pissed off because I have a date tomorrow night......we had talked about perhaps hanging out together, but I wasn't sure what I was doing and neither was he....ie, we made NO DEFINITE plans. And yet he gets pissy and accuses me of blowing him off.

Maybe you should step back a second....the guys might not be the sucky ones......

Just a thought of course.

GOD DAMNIT!!

We are one of the top 5 universities in the country in terms of undergrad enrollment and university size.

Yet we cannot field a competitive basketball team, despite having talent-rich Houston practicially in our backyard.

0-16 for the season, and 0-8 in the Big XII tournament since it started in 1996. It's no wonder A&M is considered the siberia of college basketball.

The only good thing about tonight's loss is that Coach Watkins resigned yesterday. Hopefully we can bring in a coach to turn this damn thing around. I'm holding out for Larry Eustachy, but i have a feeling we'll end up with Billy Gillespie from UTEP.

I just finished cleaning my family room carpet because:

1) My dog got a case of the poops and
2) My hamster rolled through it in his little rolly ball

I think they planned this just so they could have a laugh at my expense.

Just a thought of course.

I could understand him getting mad if we had definite plans, but all I said was that I'd have to see what I was doing. And he set to let him know because he had tentative other plans as well.

I don't mean to get defensive, but I don't see what I'm doing wrong.

mmcat 03-12-2004 08:31 AM

we'd just as soon keep billy gillespie for right now at utep, thanks.
to go from six wins to 23 in just a year is amazing.

AlethiaSi 03-12-2004 10:56 AM

i'm going to kill my flatmates- they are driving me crazy! they are so inconsiderate of other people- and b/c we're best friends they always take me for granted... its so annoying! its like-they both just act like they are the most important people in the world- liek i'm not tired or hungry or wahtever... its complaining constantly- and any time i make a comment- i get attacked for it- i'm just sick of their crap.... grrr.. i don't even know how to approach them about all this stuff b/c it would prob just cause a bigger fight.... i'm so irritated....:(

mmcat,

In that case, i hope that when A&M hires a new coach we're both happy :D

Gillespie's doin an awesome job at UTEP, but i want a coach who has performed in a major conference in here. We went the "up and comer" route with Melvin when he came from UNC Charlotte and it bombed.

I wouldn't be angry if we did get Billy, i just don't think he's the right fit for our program. Despite his publicized departure from ISU, i REALLY want Eustachy.

I was just stating it on a general level.

People are always so quick to blame others but if they took the time to actually step back from the situation they can pinpoint the things that they have done wrong....

We are all guilty...

ZTAMich 03-12-2004 06:44 PM

If you're going to peak your head in my classroom, please don't open your mouth and say something stupid like yelling across the room to me saying "You need to get the kids to sit down" that shows the kids I'm not doing the right thing and YOU have to tell me. Instead try actually coming into the room, TALKING to me and perhaps saying "I can see you're having difficulty getting some students to stay in their seats. Can I help them with their work?" or "Can I help you settle the class down"

If I get her little girl next year in 1st grade Lord help me...

TGIF!!!!!

No, I'm not into him at all, for a bunch of reasons, probably the main one being that he is 13 years older (I'm 23) and I'm just not a fan of huge age differences like that--plus, he LOOKS a lot older than me. I know how shallow this sounds, but someone actually asked me if he was my dad once.

James 03-14-2004 10:35 PM

Then you are still sending him mixed signals somehow. Men in a completely nonchalant reltionship without sexual tension don't get pissy over the scenario you gave.

I am not breaking your stones, I am being serious. I couldn't give a shit if a girl that I have no chemistry with breaks plans with me the second before i pick her up.

Would you be into him if that numerical age thing wasn't in the way? I mean based on his personality etc? Maybe he picks up on that.

alikat2 03-14-2004 10:42 PM

Hmmm......well, perhaps I am sending mixed signals. I've thought a lot about that because of course I don't like to lead people on. Maybe for a while I was. Like last summer, he and I hung out an awful lot, went drinking together, out to dinner, etc, and I let him pay for everything, even though I tried to protest. Then he bought me a really expensive b-day gift (a Tiffany and Co keychain--and I'd only known him like three months at the time). So I cooled it with him and probably have only seen him/hung out with him an average of every three weeks or so since late August.

And we've never done anything physical, so he can't misinterpret that at all.

I used to think I'd be into him if he were younger--I don't anymore. He just annoys me too much sometimes.

i've been told that the day the spanish train explosions happened was 911 days after the 9-11 attack on new york. wouldn't that be creepy and suggest something?

OH WOW. Do you believe all those numerical emails about it too?

I've eaten 911 Oreos since 9-11. I'm a terrorist, come get me.

AND WHY:

A) Is it called 9-11 instead of the Twin Towers bombing or the Trade Center bombing?

B) Are you ignoring the attack on the Pentagon which most certainly happened and is not in New York?

I hope somebody scores 911 points against Duke so that number gets a new significance - NOW THIS IS A RANT.

Lady Pi Phi 03-15-2004 02:47 PM

Le Chateau you still SUCK!

I can't return anything there only exchange it. So I got a stupid store credit and today I bought another pair of shoes.
Well they gave me another credit because my change was $5.70 and the can't give me cash because it's over $5.00. WTF! It's $0.70 freaking cents!!! keep the $0.70 cents and give me 5 back. Now I have to go back to the store and buy a pice of crappy jewlery that I don't want.

I'm think if writing and angry letter to the head office and sending the store credit back to them because I don't want it!

mmcat 03-16-2004 09:13 AM

geeky....
good rant.
something i find interesting is that pickups early in the day always think they have the need to speed, particularly on the roads i travel to get to work. yeah i know it's unscientific, but viewed over a period of time.

Lady Pi Phi 03-16-2004 12:18 PM

I hate this place with a passion.

GET ME OUT!

GeekyPenguin 03-16-2004 12:41 PM

WTF IS WRONG WITH CREEPY GUY?

Seriously I don't know what to do with him. And now for a rant that will make sense:

HOW am I supposed to act to make people happy when they tell me they're sorry GPBoy died? They're about 4 months late for crying sad Kathleen so I usually just say "Thank you" and bow my head. If one more person gives me the "How aaaaaaaaaare you?" question they are also getting punched in the GDMF face. I'm obviously FINE or I'd be in a mental hospital, not working at the mall.

Lady Pi Phi 03-18-2004 09:18 PM

Screw this!!!

I am not paying for insulin anymore! I don't care if I get sick, fall into a coma, and die! (Yes, now I am being melodramatic!)

It's BS!!
It's not like I am taking this stuff for shits and giggles. I need it to stay alive, so why does it cost a bloody small fortune?!!! All those pharmaceutical executives are going to straight to hell!!!

Dear stupid temp agency people --

Why call me and tell me you have a position starting Monday and then completely lose interest in me when I say I have an interview on Thursday so might not be able to make it that day? Next time I won't be honest and I'll just call in sick that day so I don't lose two weeks of work.

Then I really liked it when you called back at 3:45 on a Friday afternoon saying that you have left messages for my references but can't send me out on a job until you talk to them. Do you think you're going to get ahold of many people on a Friday afternoon, especially people in other time zones where it's later than it is here? WTF? Why didn't you call them Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday? Why did you call me and tell me all about this job that sounds really great and starts Monday if you knew you couldn't send me without talking to my references and you hadn't even tried to call them yet?

You suck, dumbass.

Tom Earp 03-26-2004 08:04 PM

I don't have insurance. I'm not in school right now so my school's doesn't cover it, and since I'm not in school I can't be covered under my parents.
And because I am a contract employee...yup, you guess it! I don't get benefits.

Lady Pi Phi 03-26-2004 08:36 PM

My rant for today is...I am never having kids!!!

Freaking punk ass kids. Why are they so rude?!!!

Little 10 year old kid coping and attitude with an elderly lady who wa tring to get on the bus, and the stupid kid who thinks he's the shit because he's rocking the bling bling, but it's really some big azz cubic zirconia stuck in his ear.

valkyrie, hopefully I can shed some light on this for you. First of all YES they are Dumb-asses. I worked for a General staffing agency for 7 years. I guarantee you they haven't checked your references because 90% of the time it can't be done. The majority of companies won't verify anything but dates and position title. That is usually just an excuse used. Second they are afraid that if you take the position, interview on thursday and that company wants to offer you a position, you won't complete the 2 week contract. It is kind of a catch 22. If you don't tell them, call in sick and then don't get the job they would probably end your assignment for missing 1 day in a 2 week assignment. However if they had asked their customer if it would be ok for you to miss a couple hours for an interview they probably would have been ok with it knowing that this was only a 2 week assignment. They are just too afraid to talk to their customer. But to sum it all up they are DUMB-ASSES

James 03-26-2004 11:32 PM
