Does the name "Beyonce" have any type of meaning in ANY language. Is it perhaps derived from any African language. Somebody please explain to me where this name comes from? If I could interview Matthew and Tina Knowles and ask them just one question it would be "where'd y'all get that name"?

They must have drugged that woman heavily during childbirth because you just don't hold your newborn baby and give it some crazy name like "Beyonce" unless your on some wild drug. "Oh, look at my precious baby...I'll name her...Beyonce". Doctors & nurses looking at the woman like...huh? Nurse, you must have double dosed on that IV.

Has anybody ever watched that show on Showtime called Stargate. One of the characters is this non-human (the black guy). Anyway, he gave birth to this creature called a "Goul" (sp) through is stomach. Why am I seeing a Tina Knowles/Beyonce connection. At least that would give some explanation as to where they come from!!!

Just to clarify.. I started this topic because of the article I stumbled across from an interview with Farrah Franklin, not to offend anyone. As far as I'm concerned, I think we have ALL at one time or another commented on someone in the public eye, and it's not always positive. NO, my stomach and thighs aren't perfect. But if I was on TV and making public appearances constantly, I would expect some feedback, also knowing some of it might be negative. Just my thoughts.

has anyone heard the new song that kelly and beyonce has out. you have to admit, its pretty tight.

As much as I can't stand Beyonce and her sidekicks, I must say that the girl can sing. I especially loved the song she did with Marc Nelson on The Best Man soundtrack (Track #3).

I know I thought in the begining this was a "hater thread" too... until I watched the MTV special about the group. When I was 19 no I wasn't perfect and I wasn't toned to perfection, but I carried myself well, had the common sense to use proper grammer. All because my mother raised me too. Now I can't imagine have millions of dollars, millions of fans, etc, and nobody cares enough about me to hire a darn grammar coach (they have enough resources to fine polish those girls but hey if its not broke don't fix it) Beyonce maybe the coolest girl in the world but she sure can't talk!!!!

I dig what the soror is saying about being judgemental, but if the sign on the door says "If you hated Beyonce before..." and you're a fan, then don't come knocking. I think this is an "all in fun" thing, though I KNOW there are those on here who get all huffy about SOME parts of their Christian beliefs but have NO PROBLEM hating on Beyonce'nem. I think it's all a hilarious contradiction, and I STILL don't like those chicks (Beyonce's Child)!

I'm sure I'll catch fire for this since I started this "hating on Beyoncé" thread, but I have to say this. I know I admitted my bootlegging tendencies. So I got the new DC album the other day, and I have to admit that I'm kinda digging it, especially "Sexy Daddy" and "Brown Eyes". I think the legit copy hits stores May 1, so tell me what y'all think if you get it.

Hold Up....I saw the DC special on MTV, I must say, I do support DC because they are my home-girls from H-Town (No, we all don't talk that COUNTRY) BUT...I can't believe that they sat on national TV and said that Beyonce wrote/produced ALL of the songs on the new CD?? On the MTV special, Beyonce said that she was sitting on the plane listening to a track and the word "Bootylicous" just came to her head. Ghetto thoughts just dancing through her head!

Michelle's group sounds BETTER than DC - but they've got more of a gospel focus. They could work some gospel charts.

I watched Destiny's Child on TRL this afternoon. I have come to the conclusion that Kelly is Beyonce's Biggest Fan/Personal Cheerleader. Damn, every five minutes, she is complimenting the girl. "Oh, I have to give my girl Beyonce' props for the album...she wrote and produced it all..." what the hell??? and why, on a segment of the show, they each had to select a favorite hip hop song from MTV's archives, and the audience/people @ home were to vote for their favorite out of the three...okay, when carson gave each of them fifteen seconds to tell folks @ home why they should pick the video they chose...why did kelly spend fifteen seconds telling people to choose the video that Beyonce picked??????

I always thought Kelly and Michelle were on Beyonce's bra straps! I don't know about anyone else but I would be a little heated if I were a member of a group and the lead singer was staring in a tv movie and signed a cosmetic contract. Hello? What's wrong with Kelly and Michelle? They are nothing more than Beyonce's supporting cast and they don't seem to care. Didn't they see what happened to the Supremes??? I don't blame Latoya and Latavia for questioning thier management. I think it will pay off for them in the end.

Especially since Kelly and Michelle are far more beautiful than Beyonce. I think Kelly needs to get a backbone get from underneath Beyonce and let HER voice be heard in the songs as well as the interviews. She is the HYPE girl, has to hype Beyonce up and tell her she is beautiful, great singer, actress, etc.
