VAN HUNT!!! this cd is off the meter! his "seconds of pleasure" is so flyy. i think this is his second album but i had never heard of him before. he has the soulful, jazzy r&b vibe going on. great cd.

I know Wayne (family friend). I really don't listen to either since I'm in BR I mostly just listen to the stations here when I can't find a CD.

i had some free time today so i stopped by the record store and was listening to some new artists. anyone heard of hil st. soul? she's got this angie stone-ish/jaguar wright-ish sound (without the profanity of the latter). i like it.

I was watching midnight love a couple of days ago and heard the new artist by the name of Goapele with the song "Closer". It has an Amel Larrieux feel. I really like it.

Hill Street Soul is a group. They will be performing at "Crescent City Idol," a talent show they are having down here.

i didn't realize it was a group. the cd just has the lady on the cover and she's the only one who sings.

My bad, Meez Discreet. I did a search and it is one woman. The local radio station has been advertising it as a group. Busters!

Co-sign...I have the CD (although I cannot find it ANYWHERE!). Great!

I know I'm late, but I bought Kanye yesterday. Loving it! The skit with Bernie Mac at the beginning had me on the floor! Also, All Falls Down, Jesus Walks, and School Spirit are the bomb!

Am I the only one thinking of purchasing (burned copy) of this? Yeah is da jam! LOL

I'm liking this CD alot. Damn, if Confessions is true, whew!

I heard a copy of Janet's 'Damita Jo'. If you like Janet you will love this album. I'm particularly feeling the tracks 'Damita Jo' and 'Moist'. Yeah y'all she got a song titled 'Moist'.

Alright folks, the new Carl Thomas CD drops today!!! I can't WAIT to get off work and head straight to Target to get it for $9.98.

On another note, I saw KEM in concert along with Frankie Beverly and Maze this past friday. KEM is all that and THREE bags of chips! It takes a lot for anybody to bump Maxwell from my CD player, but lets say I've had KEMS CD in almost constant rotation for the past three months. I'm an even bigger fan after seeing him perform live. If you all haven't picked up this CD, you are missing out on some GREAT music. He said that his album is expected to be certified gold in the next few weeks (depending on sales, I guess), so go buy it - don't burn it. Its definitely worth purchasing.:)

I don't think I'll pick up Janet's. I haven't purchased her since the CD before the Velvet Rope.

I like the CD also. So far, my favorite track is "Caught Up", track 7.

The song I'm listening to now sounds like Prince's "The Beautiful Ones".

He was on Entertainment Tonight and AJ interviewed him at the Soul Train Awards and asked him if it was a true story. (I'm assuming y'all are talking about Confessions Part II) He said it's a very real story, but it's not something that has happened to him personally.

Today I bought Carl Thomas and Usher.
I had been waiting on CT to come out with something, because I just LOVED the first CD.;)

Is Carl Thomas coming with the heat this time? I'm buying it tomorrow! Can't wait!

I'm lovin' the Usher CD!! I think my favorites right now are "Throwback" and "Superstar". BTW, I just realized what "Yeah!" is really about. I never listened to the words before today, just the beat.

Why did I go to Best Buy to get URsher's CD today? Why were they sold out? Why did the clerk tell me that they sold ALL 600 copies by yesterday afternoon? That's just one location!! They had it on sale for $9.99, so I'm going to try them tomorrow, she said they will be getting 300 more copies.

It's not Emotional, that's for sure. There's a groove to the CD, but it's much faster than Emotional's. I haven't heard a song that makes me wanna put it on REPEAT yet.

It looks like Anthony Hamilton and Joe won't be beat this year. Their CDs are by far the best that I've bought thus far--as far as Male R&B vocalists are concerned.

I need to find a way to get in contact with Carl b/c this CD comes no where close to where Emotional was/is. Emotional is my favorite CD and then the 1st 112 CD...by the way how is their latest CD??? Maybe P. Diddy, Poppa Diddy Pop should take them under his wings again and drop The Band (he he)! Emotional has been in regular rotation since I took it from my dad 2 years ago!!!:D
