I just ordered these and they weren't expensive at all. I got them from the site ElectriqueBoutique.com most of the shoes on there are scary...but there are some cute ones.

ok ladies...

I've never given much thought about shoes, if it fit and was the right colour than great. The majority of my shoes come from payless, with some from wal-mart.

Now, I have foot problems - turns out I have high arches but I can't afford the orthotics.

So, what are some good, affordable brands out there? seriously, I'm totally lost when it comes to shopping!

BTW I dislike heels, anything more than inch is too much.

GMUBunny 04-06-2004 04:18 PM

All of the Coach sandals for spring/summer will be in my closet within the next month. Hafta love the Navy Exchange... duty-free shopping with everything discounted from the start. To think, my dad served 21 years in the Marines so I could buy great shoes :p (j/k... I have the greatest respect for him, especially since he was in Vietnam). I bought 4 pairs of Nine West shoes (Westies, Nine & Company, etc) at the NEX for $20 each. Can't beat that!

alikat2 04-09-2004 03:09 PM

I just bought a pair of Brighton sandals at a local boutique for half off. Yay me! :)

GeekyPenguin 04-09-2004 04:15 PM

Naturalizer (www.naturalizeronline.com) has ridiculous shoes this year, and I'm supposed to be working there to SAVE money, not buy more shoes.

Right now I'm wearing one of my favorite pairs of shoes ever - black leather Reaction flip flops with beading.

If you can save for orthotics, I would try. Foot problems can hurt your knees and back over time. even $250 to prevent knee pain is not a lot, when you think about how bad knee pain can be.

I would try Dr Scholls or some other kind of ready made orthotics to go into your existing shoes. Your doctor can give you an idea of what kind of shape will help make your pain go away.

ETA: I love nine west!!! They have the best blend of style, comfort, and price.

hottytoddy 04-09-2004 11:12 PM

I have orthotics that some sports medicine doc made for me & somehow insurance paid for it. I have falling arches (my feet are soo flat). Anyhow I think there are ways to get inturance to pay for them.

However you can only wear orthotics with like tennis shoes & stuff...it's not like you can wear them with heels.

I am in LUST with these shoes. Alas, my anemic wallet tells me that I cannot spend $300 on a pair of shoes.

Within my budget...

Yep!! and while $50 is within my budget. I cannot fathom spending $50 for flip flops.

rho4life 04-12-2004 02:59 PM

Based on your previous posts, I think you should be teaching a class on how to get the most bang for your buck when sopping for cute stuff. Rock on w/ your bad self!:D

MrsMcCartney 04-12-2004 06:36 PM

I just got my Uggs and they are the most comfortable freaking things I have ever put on my feet. They feel like slippers! I got them in the pink and the baby blue, but the pink is rather anemic looking so I am sending them back. I would have those things ruined in a day.

I am lusting after the Louis Vuitton Murakami slides. I can't imagine anything cuter than a cheery little Juicy suit in a bright color with the bag over my arm and the matching shoes on my feet!!!!

I also want a pair of pointy-toed flats to wear with my straight leg jeans.....very 80s retro....maybe bright pink.

Cluey 04-12-2004 06:41 PM

I just got a pair of Kate Spade flip-flops like were posted above. I got the black and taupe, so they would go with a variety of outfits. I love them! They actually wear really well and come with their own carrying case, which makes packing them a breeze.

I just had to share :)

ladyj39 04-13-2004 12:30 AM

I just bought these cute heels in New Orleans on vacation and I love them! They were only $30! It's hard to tell in the picture, but they are a warm, reddish brown with a pink bow.

I bought a handbag in a matching shade and I'm psyched to wear them together!

norcalchick 04-13-2004 03:23 AM

i want a pair of uggs ( maybe two.. hehe) but everyone thinks they're ugly. i think they're cute and comfy and if they're so ugly why do so many people have them that they're back ordered?? i might get some von dutch ones in pink. i have to search some more. Aldo shoes are good for funky shoes and stilletoes (sp?). I LOVE SHOES!!!! :D

The first are the 1956 Melbourne track editions and I think only the second one is soccer 1960 Chile.

Thanks for the props. Trust me, I'm working on the concept. But I will give this piece of advice: My style works better if you're a classic type of dresser.;)

All right, I'm an official hater. Great shoes. Nudish stilettos always make the leg look longer. Again, I haven't found Blahniks/Choos through my relentless discount sourcing.

Neosoulchild 04-13-2004 08:18 PM

Well, I can't afford the Monolo's or the Choo's so I must opt for Nine West. But as I was walking through the galleria in Dallas, I came across Bandolino's. I got the cutest shoes from there, and now I go straight to that store when I'm shopping for shoes. Then I go over to Nine West.

I am totally digging the green Von Dutch boots.....go to www.shopintuition.com and they have them....pink and blue too. You can get Uggs on Ebay but you are going to pay more than retail. That's where my blue ones came from but they were still pretty reasonable.

light blue, lime green, white, baby pink, white and black... they were about $3 a pair (much cheaper than ebay even), they are super comfy, look cute w/ jeans and skirts and let you match anything!

I just bought a great pair of Michelle K heels from DSW ($145 --> $50 ---> $19.96!!) yesterday.. I'll post a pic if i can figure out how

Steeltrap 06-05-2004 12:10 PM

At J. Crew

I got these last week. Useful for the summer, walking, etc. They were only 50% off -- I usually like deeper discounts -- but I allowed myself that.
I'm going to start saving for some Chanel ballet flats this month. It should take about four months. They don't go on sale and they sell for about $350-$400 or so.

http://www.jcrew.com/images/nov299/e...216_PK5863.jpg

ETA: I love these. These are outrageously expensive, though, even on sale. :o
