Aimée, pronounced A-may. It's quite simple. It's French for Amy.
It's NOT: Ah-may (which is what FI's family calls me and it drives me CRAZY) Ah-me Amy Almay (yes, I've gotten this one) It looks quite pretty written out (especially with my middle and last names which are also very, very French), but it sucks to ALWAYS have to correct people on the pronunciation of your name. |

hee hee My name is princess and I sometimes go by Heather ;) kidding. my dad is the only one that calls me princess. oh BTW I am so jealous of a lot of you on here! so many of you have such beauitful names! But hey us common-girl-names gotta represent too. :D |

I'm Leslie. I was almost Lesleigh, which would have been really cool, but people can't spell my name as it is. My parents have called me La since I was a baby, and my freshman year of college, some of my friends took to calling me LaLa! When my brother was little, he couldn't say L's and called me Essie. I don't like Les either. Most of my friends here call me Lina because that was my name in Italian class, and for some reason, it spread... And I completely flip on anyone who pronounces it like it's spelled "LeZlie." |
Karen
or If I am too lazy or drunk to repeat my name if you can't hear me in a loud bar-then I go by Kare (ie like carie) If I don't want you to know my real name then I go by Ashley:) |
My name is Makeda. It means the Queen of Sheba. Bet ya'll didn't know I'm actually royalty:D
My family calls me Tee. (long story) Nobody really calls me keda. My best friend has started calling me Sally. ( Whenever we order from a certain tex-mex place, I Always ask for me taco salad to be made a certain way.) She thinks that's funny and it reminds her of Sally from When Harry met Sally. |
Brittany
My dad calls me Scooter he's the only one allowed to call me that and yes, he still calls me that at my age. Not Brittney or Britney. |

Meredith
you would be surprised how people can butcher that simple name! Marydeth Merideth Meredythe Maridith etc.... |
Susan..for whatever##@ reason...
My mother didn't want me called Suzy-Q so I was called Lynn while growing up. When I asked her why she didn't just name me something else, she wouldn't give me an answer...my older brother is the same way..goes by his middle name. Boy that causes a problem in the REAL world!! When I got married, I wanted to make Lynn my FIRST name but Ga. Dept of Public Safety had a problem with that!! |
Wendi ----and that's with an i. I don't get hung up on the spelling with people that don't know me--but it bothers me when people I know misspell my name.
|
Marissa
but my dad calls me sissy-pooh (no idea why) and one of my younger sisters calls me Missa Marissa |
THAT'S A LONG STORY!!!
Hi to everybody once again!!!
Here in greece we have a custom.the child must be named after its grandparents. So my first name is Erasmia after my grandmother. But this is not a name to celebrate. So my mother also gave me the name Artemis. But they thought they needed another name just to call me.And they picked Ismini. I finally decided to keep ISMINI  |

My first name is Marcella, after my great-grandmother on my fathers side. My middle name is Aurelia, after my grandmother on my mother's side My grandmother picked Catherine as my confirmation name After that, I HAD to learn to write it ALL out! I was the only kid in my class writing out FIVE NAMES....Marcella Aurelia Catherine....PLUS I have TWO last names, I have my father's AND my mothers!! Its what most Mexican's do, at least in my family :) |
Tonya... As in Tawn-ya not Tan-ya. ;)
Middle name is Nichol (as in Nicole). For 20 some odd years I had been spelling it Nicole. But when I lost my SS card at school and went to go get a new one I spelled it that way and the guy asked me if I was sure I was spelling it right. I said yeah and he told me wrong answer. Its spelled Nichol. Now I had seen it spelled that way on my birth certificate, but my mom said she had told the nurse when I was born that it was a typo and it needed to be changed. Guess they never changed it. So I kept it, its unique. Full name (First, Middle and Last when Mom gets pissed or she wants me to do something for her) Nicknames: Tonnie (like Connie), Ton (Tawn) or T |
Garth. middle name is Jay.

Margaret
my really good friends from high school call me margie or marge. they're the only ones i tolerate it from though cuz i can't stand it. some people call me maggie which i really like but my parents were really big against nicknames as a child so it never completely caught on. one of my friends used to call me ohio because he says i don't talk like someone from brooklyn. |
Christina
Fake name: Kim :D |
I'm surprised no one's posted my first name yet: Melissa.
And that would be spelled the good old fashioned way - not any of those creepy funky spellings! I was at Sea-Tac airport, looking at a luggage tag that read, "Maylyssia Jones" and was shocked to hear her respond to "Melissa". I wanted to hurt her. But most of my family & friends call me Honey or some version (Honeychile, Honeybee, Honeybear, whatever) - get called something as a child & it sticks for life! |
Rachel is my first name and I love it except that atleast five other girls in my sorority and everywhere I go have my name.
|
Sarah is my first name.
Louise is my middle name after my mom's childhood best friend. My confirmation name is Maria Goretti. |
My name is Colleen (Col-leen not Co-leen). My middle name is Marie. But until the day I was born my parents thought I'd be Kevin. I took Patricia as my confirmation name.

My name is Davita, but my family and friends call me Vita!! No one ever spells it right.......most of the time it ends up being "Devita" and I'm like noooooo.........d-A-v-i-t-a..........:D Middle name is Tennille.......literally as in the Captain & Tennille........ |
My name is Lauren (duh hehe) and I was named after the actress Lauren Becall cause my mom thought it was pretty or something i dunno...
And my middle name is Elizabeth...agian b/c my mom thought it was pretty and flowed nicely... |
My name is Susan.
My middle name is Claire. |
My name is Beth..... Not Elizabeth. Not Bethany. Just plain ole Beth. My mom said that she didn't want me to fill out all those bubbles on the scantrons. :)
My middle name is Ann, which everyone wants to put an "e" at the end of... I donno why, I think it's easier to spell without it. Everyone in my family calls me Beth Ann, with the exception of two cousins->cuz they couldn't say the "TH" sound when they were kids... So they call me Bef (no, not beef!) even though they're 21 and 16 years old now! Pretty much all of my friends call me Beth. A couple of people think it's funny to call me Bethany (like Beth-Annie) and then I have those really close friends that call me Bef (because they know my cousins) :D But I don't mind... It's actually kinda fun. Oh but why do I always get people calling me Becky? Not even CLOSE to my name! |
Marianne. And I've heard EVERY single Gilligan's Island joke that exists.
|
Sarah Elizabeth
Bet you can't find any more! LOL! One of my pledge sisters was also Sarah Elizabeth- and she had the same birthday as me except she was a year younger. LOL! |

My married name is about a mile long. I will have to give my hypothetical future children really short names, otherwise by the time they're done bubbling in their names, the test will be over. :p (If, that is, they haven't replaced the scantrons with computer-delivered exams by then.) |

The girl working at customer service in Sav-A-Center today was named Tequilla.
Yeah, I thought that was only a joke. I know of another girl named Chevas (as in Chevas Regal) I'm sure there's a kid or two out there named Boone's Farm or Thunderbird. |
Bonita (i.e. "Beautiful" in Spanish)
|
Tracy -- not terribly exciting. My middle name is Noelle and I've always wanted that to be my first name.

Billy Blaze Flounder (only my brothers can call me this) |
My name is Rachel. Hebrew name: Rahel. (imagine that! :D)
From 5th-8th grade I would only answer to "Rae," and some of my older friends and a few of my relatives still call me that. When I first went to IU, it seemed like every third girl in my dorm was named Rachel. It was pretty funny, someone would call out "Rachel!" and ten girls would turn around. :) |
Bartholomew Von Beaverhousin
