jitterbug13 08-07-2005 11:53 PM

Why is that FAMU, Howard and Hampton's Homecoming is on the same weekend at Univ. of SC's homecoming???? They are all the day before my birthday!

On the bright side, at least SC State's is the next weekend and Tenn State the week after that!

Since my b-day is 2 days before Halloween, this is the only homecoming I roll to and care about.

KY State's usually fall either on UK's home coming, so I go to the stepshow at UK, and Ky State's parties. :D

Ky State's may fall upon UofL's homecoming this year...hmmmm

many things to ponder

I know it looks the same shortened but it is: www.hbcunetwork.com/modules/Networking/calendar/2005Homecomings.cfm

I remember when USC and SC State's homecomings were on the same weekend. People would go to State's step show and parties and USC's game. Why USC doesn't do a lot for blacks during homecoming...I don't know.

Pearls4Life 08-08-2005 07:37 PM

Why do I really go?

A time to party and find an excuse to gauck at the FIIIINE men and act like I never go out! Lawd the parties are always so dang hot and folks be all sweaty....yuck! :p Yet I still go....go figure.

Rattlers in da house!

Anyone going to FAMU this year? We have a whole South Florida contingent going to support my little cousin who is turning into quite a ball player! Got plenty of field time last year . . . as a FRESHMAN -- goooooooooooo Ronald P.!!!

I'll be at Howard's homecoming.

HU Homecoming tip #1 - Always purchase event tickets (parties, concerts, step show or game) from crampton auditorium prior to Friday night. If you don't go to something, you can always find someone standing outside of the event unwilling to pay $100.00 to get in.

HU Homecoming tip #2 - Wear sensible shoes, save the high heel fashion for the poor undergrads that will be wishing they had.

CountryGurl 10-18-2005 12:17 PM

Soror AKA2D '91 will you be in Grambling for homecoming this year? I'm riding up with a few Sorors from GSU that Friday.

AKA2D '91 10-18-2005 12:38 PM

Is today October 18, 2005?

I'm coming up for the game only.

Hey KoreanIvy,

Will you be at the Stepshow on Friday? Let me know, I had one of the Alpha Xi neos get me a ticket today. I hope it is as good as it was last year. For $15.00 it better be.

Paging SKEEPHISTIKATE,

Will you be there as well?

LOL! Are you going to the stepshow that Saturday?

AKA2D '91 10-19-2005 12:00 PM

I highly doubt I'll attend the Greekshow. I haven't attended the GS since '01 when we had our 10 yr reunion. :o Don't get me started on SU. I haven't been to a GS or a game there in ages. :o

Homecoming: Each year I become that much more removed from the institution. I LOVE football and the G-Men, so I concentrate more on that than anything else. I'm headed to Jackson Saturday. Usually, a few of my LSs and I will get together during the game and after the game we eat dinner. Sometimes we make it to the hill, now they go to the "plot", sometimes we don't. That's what HC has been for me (in the last few years). If it was 1995 or 2000, I MIGHT feel inclined to attend EVERYTHING. Much of that is so over my head now. Don't let me get a husband and have babies...LOL!

You're a neo, so I know you are excited. Therefore, I don't think you can see where I'm coming from (as of yet) :D . Make sure you give me a report on who won.

Just got your message today ;) . I am actually going to miss the step show this year because I am planning to attend the Parks Crump Reception. It sucks that they moved the stepshow to 7pm this year. It is messing up my plans. I really wanted to go too!

FYI: Click Here for a list of school-sponsored events.

I don't know if I'm going or not. I have a few of my students from last year playing and they asked me to come see them. After attending 3 SU home games (have students that play for us too) I figured it would only be fair. LOL

Yay sorors!

I decided not to go to Carolina's homecoming today. Have to save money and I did go to a concert last week.

And I hope that SC State will have a backup plan for their step show. See, it's gotten too big for the gym so they are going to have it on the field next Saturday night since the game starts at about 1 or 2. What if it rains and the temperature is suppose to drop on Monday and if it's still cool no one wants to be sitting on no cold bleachers shivering.

NUPE4LIFE, what happened to the Beta Nu Alpha's? In past step shows, if they didn't win they at least got 2nd.

This year the Alpha's did more dancing than stepping!

I was going to go to the stepshow but then I heard that it was oversold by 1000 tickets

Congrats to all! We're homecoming partners with the FSU Delta's=)

The Stepshow was packed and Gaither Gym is a sweatbox. At one point in the show they were asking people to make room cause there were still people outside with tickets trying to get in. It was so hot in there that they were passing out church fans.
