I have officially found something to do here in NTx with the chapter and the alum group. Or atleast something to bide my time until I can take an office or advisor role!! And, I wanted to share...I am going to aid the Housing Corps as Chairman of the Brick Campaign. For the new House at UNT, all those that donate money will get thier name put on a brick, If I remember correctly. Well I'm chairing that group!! YAY!!


I'm also helping with initiation next Friday. I can't wait!! Initiation is one my favorite ceremonies. I get to sit with the Alphas, soon to be Deltas, during initiation and talk about ADPi. YAY!!

Okay, I'm done. I just wanted to share. :)

Last week was Diamond Days for Eta Tau, and on Saturday, we initiated 3 new Deltas!

We had 4, but one of them decided to transfer for next year (which is a bit of a bummer because she was supposed to be my <> sister's <>, and my <> sis is graduating, so she won't ever have one! :( ). Eta Tau is now officially at 19 girls!

One of my closest friends (we met when we were rushing together!) invited me to go with her to her ultrasound today! It was such a cool experience... and she found out today that she's going to have a boy! I'm going to be an aunt :D

I'm so excited. I just got back from Epsilon Zeta (Texas State University/Southwest Texas State University) in San Marcos. The AA in San Antonio went up to perform Jewel Degree. I was so exciting to be back in the house and see that the girls are so great! I lived there for 2 years and hadn't been there in 6+ years. I had such a wonderful time and it was wonderful to perform such beautiful ritual for sisters for the first time!!

just got home from my drive back... this is so weird...

I didn't post this earlier because it's still kind of sinking in, but...

this past weekend, my boyfriend gave me his school's equivalent to a lavaliere (it used to be called that too... I forget what the correct term is now...)!!!!
It's GORGEOUS!! It looks like the top of his school ring (rings are a HUGE deal there).

Dozens of beautiful purple violets to my little <> sis!!

My little <> sis Chrissie was selected as CosmoGirl! Magazine's summer intern in a national competition/search. She is an active sports journalist (we both work for the school paper, that's how we met!) and will be a major press intern for the National Hockey League in NYC. CosmoGirl! is paying her and for her living expenses, and she will be featured in the magazine.

I love my ADPi family! (just so my older <> sis doesn't feel left out ;) she is an amazing biomedical engineering student who was selected to be an Engineering Fellow at my school! She is also in the top a capella group at our school and she is Director of a summer community service program for incoming freshmen!)

After a 2 month battle with mice, where I had to move my poor poor cat out of my house, I finally have (keep your fingers crossed) gotten rid of the mice, moved my Kali Baby home, and did a huge spring cleaning...

i hate pests. and I hate not having my kali baby around.

At the recent Greek banquet we won the Most Improved Scholarship award and we have the HIGHEST AVERAGE GPA at Duke out of any of our 9 NPC chapters!

Additionally, multiple violets to Omicron pi sister Mabel Aggassiz Westcott Martin who recently celebrated 80 years of sisterhood in ADPi! Mrs. Martin was featured in a recent Adelphean; she was initiated into our chapter in 1924!!

Well, no word has been received, but the next step in my academic life has been taken.....

I FINALLY finished my grad school application! :)

Yes, the queen of procrastination finally sucked it up and filled out every form, wrote a five and a half page essay, and mailed it out today. Hopefully they'll accept me and I can begin classes during the fall semester! :)


(I also thought we needed to bump this thread back up, too....so this was a reason to do so! ;) :D)

I got a job!!!! I am teaching Kindergarten!! I am a little nervous, but mostly excited!!!

CONGRATULATIONS! It seems to be the year for sisters getting teaching jobs....first FD, and then ASUADPi, and then you! (My <> sister also just told me she just got hired as a preschool teacher in Connecticut)
