Now that's what they call acting! It's something about Fred that makes me dislike him. I am digging the music for their new song "Eat you Alive" but the words have me wondering. Telling someone you wanna smell their panties? Ugh!

Convict 'Sold Whitney Drugs'
Convicted felon Kevin Skinner is set to shock people by insisting Whitney Houston is a drug addict. Skinner appears on TV news show "Dateline" this Sunday as part of a special on Houston and her trip to Israel this summer, and he claims he has watched the soul star take drugs with her husband Bobby Brown. Skinner, a former partner in the company run by Houston's late father, tells Dateline he has sold drugs to Houston in the past, adding, "I think she's an addict." Houston appeared on TV at the end of last year to answer questions about her drug use and insisted she had it under control. The upcoming Dateline special will feature unseen footage of Houston and Brown's bizarre trip to Israel. Beyonce's Interview Regrets Singer Beyonce Knowles often whines with embarrassment when she reads over her own interviews - because she's so unimpressed with a lot of the things she says. The "Crazy In Love" singer, 22, admits there are often moments where she's not particularly thrilled to have to face questions from reporters - especially when she isn't thinking straight. She says, "Sometimes I read certain interviews and I'm like, 'What c**p did I say?' I mean, I know I said it because I wasn't delirious. But I'm only human, and some things I've said I wish didn't get quoted. It is hard to function sometimes. "But I have people around who support me, and my mother. I love my mom. She tells me the truth, and she's like, 'Girl, you need to calm down or put on some music and chill out.' We'll say a prayer or do different things to keep me calm, you know?" Lil' Kim's Big Demands Hip-hop diva Lil' Kim has put bosses of the British MOBO awards in a spin with her backstage demands for Thursday night's ceremony. The sexy star is co-hosting the glitzy show with fellow R&B singer Blu Cantrell, and demanded her dressing room at London's Royal Albert Hall be set up exactly as she wanted before she's agree to take part. Kim has ordered show bosses to ensure she has a dressing room on the north side of the hall with three furry pink walls, one huge mirrored wall, room temperature of exactly 32 degrees (c) and feng shui friendly furniture to be placed where she wants it. She's also insisted on having mineral water chilled at exactly 10 degrees centigrade, ice cubes made from pure mineral water, a masseuse to be on hand at all times and four big bodyguards to patrol constantly. (Afrochic's sidenote: She probably can't spell centigrade  ) A backstage source admits, "There are some pretty unusual demands on the list but a lot of people say that Lil' Kim is a very unusual lady. She certainly doesn't do things by half! "But she is doing a job for us tonight so we have promised to fulfil her wishes. We have complied with them all to the letter. She hasn't seen the dressing room yet, but it looks great." Copyright World Entertainment News Network 2003 |

I thought so too.

Someone obviously is behind some of those things Lil Kim wants. Does she really know Feng shui is not something you order with extra soy sauce?

4-1-1 ENTERTAINMENT FOR THE WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 29TH, 2003
I have some good news about comedian Tommy Davidson. Last week I reported on his disastrous appearance in Philly during a comedy show. Tommy was really out of it. He wouldn't do any jokes, but he did sing, talk and occasionally nod off. The crowd in true Philly style started booing and throwing water bottles. The night was an embarrassment for all who attended. Tommy has done stints in rehab before, but now he says he is ready to face his demons head on. Tommy realizes he has a problem and he wants to get help. Let's hope he gets it together because he is a very talented guy who deserves better. Is the romance really back on with Usher and Chili? Every week I have a different on again/off again story and now I am hearing that Usher has been stepping out with Kelly Rowland of Destiny's Child. I'm sure Chili is not happy about this because she wants to be married to Usher. Oprah Winfrey opens up in the new issue of TV Guide and she says no marriage or children for her. Oprah turns 50 in January and her estimated entertainment empire is worth one billion dollars. Oprah says people wanting her to be married to longtime beau Stedman Graham is their vision not hers. Oprah says as for children, she is busy caring for the world's children. She says this is her mission. By the year 2005, Oprah is planning to build 12 schools in Africa. Mariah Carey is ready to tell all. Mariah wants to write a book about her life that will focus on her childhood and how she overcame adversity. There will be little mention of ex-husband Tommy Mottola, the record mogul who made her a star. If Mariah wants to sell books she is going to have to talk about her marriage and her romance with baseball star, Derek Jeter. Celebrity "tell all" books that gloss over the truth never do well, especially when every entertainment trade has listed all of your exploits. Mariah is also going to have talk about her breakdown and her rivalry with Jennifer Lopez. Musiq is back! He has a hot new song called "For The Night" and his album Soul Star comes out in December. Alicia Keys returns in December with The Diary of Alicia Keys. She recently shot a cover for Ebony magazine and she is working on specials for BET and MTV. Chris Rock is hitting the road. Chris is bringing "The Black Ambition Tour" to town February 21st, at the Tower Theatre. Tickets are not on sale yet. Chris will be joined by ole school rappers on this tour. So far Biz Markie and Whodini have signed on. Shemar Moore is no longer the host of Soul Train. Shemar has been let go and Dorien Gregory from the show The Other Half, will replace him. Rapper 50 Cent stopped by the set of the UPN show, The Parkers recently. 50 Cent was visiting his lady actress Vivicia A. Fox who was filming a guest appearance on the show. The cast and crew were thrilled to meet the rapper. Vivica's new movie Kill Bill comes out on October 10th. 50 Cent also purchased a new home this past week. 50 Cent recently bought Mike Tyson's Connecticut mansion for $4 million. The home has 18 bedrooms, 24 full bathrooms and additional 14 half baths and a man made waterfall. The home also has an indoor racquetball court, seven kitchens, a theatre, a nightclub and an elevator. Mike Tyson bought this home in 1996, for $2.7 million. Then a year later, he put it on the market for $25 million. The house went unsold and his ex-wife Monica Turner got the home in her divorce settlement. Mary Wilson of the Supremes is now an ambassador. Mary was recently named the "Goodwill Ambassador" for the US State Department. The 46th Annual Grammy Awards takes places on February 8th. Nominees will be announced in December. Congratulations to singer Ginuwine. He recently married his longtime love rapper Sole. They have two children together. |

Rapper C-Murder Convicted of Murder
Tue Sep 30,11:15 PM ET Add Entertainment - AP to My Yahoo! By DOUG SIMPSON, Associated Press Writer GRETNA, La. - Rapper C-Murder was convicted Tuesday of second-degree murder in the nightclub shooting of a 16-year-old boy. The charge carries an automatic life sentence. Relatives of C-Murder, whose real name is Corey Miller, began sobbing as the verdict was read and were escorted out of the courtroom. Women were heard screaming in the hallway outside. Miller is the younger brother of rapper Percy Miller Jr., who is known as Master P. Their father, Percy Miller Sr., said the family would seek an appeal. "My son didn't do that," he said. Steve Thomas was beaten and fatally shot Jan. 12, 2002, during a fight outside the Platinum Club in Harvey. "Now Steve can rest in peace," his father, George, said after the verdict. Assistant District Attorney Douglas W. Freese said he was satisfied with the verdict: "I believe the killer has been put where he belongs." Defense attorney Ronald J. Rokosky did not speak to the media following the verdict. Before they began deliberations Tuesday, jurors were told they could find Miller, 30, innocent of second-degree murder but guilty of manslaughter in Thomas' death. But Assistant District Attorney Roger Jordan urged them to convict on the more serious charge. "Miller's a murderer. He's a killer. He took away something you can't give back — Steve's life," Jordan said. Two prosecution witnesses testified that Miller beat and shot Thomas. Nine defense witnesses said he had nothing to do with the killing, but gave different descriptions of his clothes and of his whereabouts within the club. Rokosky argued that investigators botched the case, finding only two witnesses who could identify Miller as the gunman out of 150 people in the club. |
I saw that last night on the news. The "people" said Harry Lee (sheriff) was going to make an example out of him. According to the newspaper last week, supposedly Dennis Hopper or someone like that was in the courtroom and a film COULD be in the works.

I'm glad he wrote me another album. :) :p 4) Longtime love? Sole ain't even been OUT a long time. They dated just as long as any other couple. Longtime love? Old people have longtime loves... Ginuwine and Sole ain't even old enough to have a longtime love. Whatever. |

KELIS: This Just In…: No sooner than I reported that Kelis was the latest singer to join J. Lo’s fired manager Benny Medina’s House of Divas, as I call his Handprint firm, I received a call telling me that things have apparently changed. Apparently Benny, who is reportedly already representing Mya, Brandy and supposedly Mariah Carey, nixed plans to manage Kelis after getting a call from a really bad boy. That’s right, my sources say that Kelis’ former manager Sean “P. Diddy” Combs called Benny and whatever he told Benny, who also used to manage Diddy, made him change his mind about Kelis. So poor lil’ Kelis is looking for representation once again.
In other Kelis news… I hear there may be a little “tension” between her and her record label Star Trak Entertainment/Arista, which happens to be The Neptunes’ label. I’m told that none of the Star Trak staff attended the video shoot for Kelis’ single “Milkshake” because of this “tension.” I hear that video director Paul Hunter originally shot the video, and everyone liked it except Arista president L.A. Reid, who requested that David LaChapelle re-shoot the video. Additionally, I hear that a lot of the “tension” going on with Kelis and her label stems from her current relationship with rapper Nas. Most don’t know that Kelis used to date Pharrell Williams of The Neptunes and, apparently, Pharrell has a problem with Kelis having another leading man in her life. This situation could get very, very interesting. I’ll keep you posted. VIVICA: Flip The Script: Don’t look for her majesty Queen Latifah to star in the upcoming “Barbershop” spin-off, “Beauty Shop.” The Queen has been replaced with current-hotter-than-fire actress Vivica A. Fox. Production on the film begins in Baltimore on October 19. The shop and its characters will be introduced in the upcoming “Barbershop” sequel. “Beauty Shop” will be under the direction of Mark Brown, who also wrote "Barbershop." Mark also worked with Vivica on "Two Can Play That Game." Up for consideration for one of the prominent roles in the film is former “Real World: Hawaii” housemate Teck Money. Unlike many “Real World” alumni, Teck has attained serious work as a Hollywood actor, having scored guest roles on shows like “Friends,” “One on One,” “The Parkers” and “Taina.” Additionally, the former MTV veejay starred in the comedy “National Lampoon’s Van Wilder” opposite Tara Reid and Ryan Reynolds, the dramatic thriller “Final Breakdown” with Regina King and Blair Underwood, and the romantic MTV television feature film “Love Song” with Monica. Aretha Franklin's BET Special: Dear BET: I am writing you this letter today because you are honoring one of the most incredible singers of all time on Tuesday, Oct. 28. She’s not just an entertainer; she’s actually royalty. Of course I am talking about the “Queen of Soul,” Aretha Franklin. See Queen Re-Re is a legend of our time. She epitomizes a diva. I mean, who else could get Oprah Winfrey to turn off the air conditioning in her television studio, or command “respect” by showing up with Celine Dion, Gloria Estefan, Mariah Carey, and others on the original VH-1 “Divas” special? We’re all so damn happy that Aretha released her new album, “So Damn Happy,” and she’s still in great voice. So, I guess the reason I pen this lil’ note to you is to ask that you honor our Queen in royal fashion. You’re definitely off to a great start booking Teena Marie, Ron Isley, Eddie Levert, Alicia Keys, Ruben Studdard, Mary J. Blige, Wilson Pickett, Yolanda Adams and Seal for the festive occasion. I guess my concern is that you’ll try to capture the younger crowd by booking folks like Lumidee and Ashanti for the affair. Don’t get me wrong, there are some great new generation singers out there like Beyonce Knowles, Syleena Johnson, Kelly Price, Lil’ Mo, Faith Evans and Jill Scott who could probably do Aretha’s music some justice. Shoot, I wouldn’t even be mad if you booked “American Idol” hopefuls like Tamyra Gray and Trenyce, since both of the girls can really squall too. Also, let’s not forget the singer who I believe is the heir to Aretha, the incomparable Ann Nesby. I know I don’t book your talent, nor pick your programming -- heck if it was up to me, BET shows like “Next” with Malonda, “Heart & Soul” with Dr. Ro & Mocha Lee, and “NYLA” with Laz Alonzo would still be on the air. I’m just a measly celebrity journalist who may cover this particular event and just would like to see Aretha honored in a spectacular way. Furthermore, it makes me itch to hear people sing off key, flat and sharp, especially certain singers who combine all of those negative elements into one song. Thanks in advance for taking the time to read my letter and hopefully the “9th Annual Walk of Fame” will be your best broadcast yet. P.S.: Can you please honor Gladys Knight in two years? I know that next year you are honoring a man, but in 2005 let’s acknowledge Gladys. She’s always so overlooked and deserves a star on your “Walk of Fame.” Whatchu think? Oops, there I go again trying to book your programming. Mary J. Blige: Things That Make You Say Hmmm!?!: Liza Minnelli can rap, says Mary J. Blige. The Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter asked the R&B star what she thinks of Minnelli’s version of her song, “Family Affair.” “Great,” Mary replied. “She can perform any music style. She can even rap. We’re very good friends. I invited her to my home for Thanksgiving last year. People are always surprised when I tell them that we’re friends. ‘Aha, do you have white friends?’ they ask, like I only hang around with rappers because I’m black.” Can't Say Names: Can’t Say Names: What Hollywood actress apparently went on a date for a phat paycheck? Sources say a certain Hollywood hottie was paid a whopping $10,000 to go out on a date with a foreign prince. Let’s just say, said actress got her money, probably paid her tithes, and went on a shopping spree at Fred Segal! * Hide the alcohol, especially if the star of a particular mid-season replacement series is around. Sources say a certain TV actor acted a fool at a post-Emmy party after having one too many drinks and being rejected by the two girls he was hitting on. While he yelled at the girls for trying to get in his head, they wondered if he acted like this when at home with his wife and kids. ~~~ |

C-MURDER GETS LIFE FOR MURDER: Master P's younger brother convicted of killing 16-year-old-boy.
C-Murder (Oct. 1, 2003) *Last year at the Image Awards, we remember asking Master P about his brother, rapper C-Murder, and his arrest for murder. We remember vividly Master P's staunch defense of his brother, which is what anyone would expect. But today, we can't help but wonder how he's taking the news of C-Murder's conviction. The court in Gretna, LA has sentenced Corey Miller, AKA C-Murder, to spend life in prison after a conviction of second-degree murder in the nightclub shooting of a 16-year-old boy. Relatives of C-Murder began sobbing as the verdict was read Tuesday and were escorted out of the courtroom. Miller is the younger brother of Master P. Their father, Percy Miller Sr., said the family would seek an appeal. "My son didn't do that," he said. Miller Senior was referring to Steve Thomas, who was beaten and fatally shot Jan. 12, 2002, during a fight outside the Platinum Club in Harvey. "Now Steve can rest in peace," his father, George, said after the verdict. Assistant District Attorney Douglas W. Freese said he was satisfied with the verdict. The conviction has an automatic life sentence. "I believe the killer has been put where he belongs." Before they began deliberations Tuesday, jurors were told they could find Miller, 30, innocent of second-degree murder but guilty of manslaughter in Thomas' death. But Assistant District Attorney Roger Jordan urged them to convict on the more serious charge. "Miller's a murderer. He's a killer. He took away something you can't give back — Steve's life," Jordan said. Interestingly, defense attorney Ronald J. Rokosky argued to no avail that investigators botched the case, finding only two witnesses who could identify Miller as the gunman out of 150 people in the club. |
Halle Separates from Eric Benet
Halle Separates from Husband
October 1, 2003 ET breaks the news first that Oscar® winner HALLE BERRY is separating from her husband of almost three years, singer ERIC BENET. In a statement to ET, Halle said, "Eric and I have had marital problems for some time now and have tried to work things out together. However, at this point, I feel we need time apart to reevaluate our union. We ask that you respect our privacy as we are going through this emotional time." The couple were married in a private ceremony in January 2001, but were subsequently plagued by rumors in the press of Benet's serial infidelity and their attempts to save their union through counseling. The couple have no children of their own, although Benet has a daughter, INDIA, from a previous relationship, which Halle adopted. Halle was previously married to Atlanta Braves baseball star DAVE JUSTICE in 1993, but they divorced in 1997. Halle is the first African-American to win the Best Actress Oscar, awarded in 2002 for her role in 'Monster's Ball.' She will next appear onscreen in the horror thriller 'Gothika' on November 21 and is currently filming 'Catwoman.' |
IF they divorce, will she have to pay child support? She did adopt his daughter.

Yep. And he still wants to....

I shouldn't be all up in their bizness like this...but I'm really trying to understand the deal. You know, Halle has it going on....at least it looks like that from the outside. She absolutely gorgeous, she's an accomplished actress, paid...etc. But then, look at the relationships...Wesley Snipes busted her eardrum, David Justice stepped out on her darn near the day after they got married, and now Eric Benet is up to whatever he's got going on.
I guess looks can be DECEIVING. |
