no no no don't go see Win a Date with Tad Hamilton in the theaters. I saw it - it was soooo predictable and cliche!!

though Josh Duhamal is totally and completely GORGEOUS!!!

MareImbrium 01-04-2004 04:27 AM

I just saw Big Fish today and I loved it! Gotta admit that Tim Burton has a fantastic imagination.

I want to see that one movie with Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. Drew suffers from short term memory loss and this is the second movie they're in together ever since The Wedding Singer.

Can't wait for Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. The next isn't really a movie but a TV series called Kingdom Hospital from the works of Stephen King.

Name of the movie is "50 First Dates." Looks hilarious.

Yeah, Bridget Jones without Renee wouldn't be the same. SATX*APhi, I want to see most of the films on your 2004 list. I already saw Win a Date with Tad Hamilton. It was surprisingly good. I'll add Troy, First Daughter, Alexander, and Stay to the list.
First Daughter seems good, haven't heard much about it though. As for Troy and Alexander, not my kinds of movies, but I could potentially go and see them when they come out.

what is First Daughter about?

i want to see most of the movies on your list, and add Chasing Liberty to that.

eta: just visited www.imdb.com, and First Daughter is what Chasing Liberty was originally called...

There is another movie with the same premise (dating the President's daughter) that was made that is called First Daughter. So for all of you keeping count at home, Chasing Liberty (it was originally called First Daughter) and the First Daughter that is actually coming out are 2 seperate movies.

Check http://movies.go.com/upcoming/ to see what I am talking about.

Whoa, now I'm confused! LOL

butterfly2001nc 01-04-2004 08:15 PM

There is Chasing Liberty with Mandy Moore and then First Daughter (which i think is still the name of it) with Katie Holmes.

Both are about being the President's daughter.

Fun Fact: You know that Jerry O'Connell sold his original screenplay called First Daughter. (i do wonder which one it is though)

I also want to see most of those movies on the list. Can't wait to see Ocean's Twelve! LOVE George Clooney and of course Brad Pitt!

butterfly2001nc 01-04-2004 08:22 PM

found it!

okay, so i'm answering my mine question. First Daughter with Katie Holmes is the original screenplay of Jerry O'Connell.

:)

GeoffZ 01-04-2004 10:04 PM

I remember hearing that Jerry O'Connell wrote a screenplay, but didn't know it was First Daughter. Interesting. Both movies were originally supposed to come out the same weekend, then the Katie Holmes version got pushed back.

_Opi_ 01-04-2004 10:24 PM

Big fish...I want to watch this one althought I don't know its out just yet.

Troy looks like a good movie

Oh n the the sequels...Bridget Jones diary, harry potter and Ocean's twelve (although I will be watching it for matt damon)

hmm, I cant wait to see the selections for the sundance film festival this january...they always have good indie flicks every year!

MeLikey 01-05-2004 01:57 AM

Big Fish should be out now... go see it, love it.

I want to see Win a Date with Todd Hamilton... I like Josh Duhmal (sp?) from his stint on All My Children and Topher Grace.

MeLikey 01-05-2004 02:06 AM

This is kinda random but Ashton Kutcher and Amy Smart's new movie, The Butterfly Effect (which creeps me out so I won't be seeing it)-- I just saw the preview today and Ashton's sporting fraternity letters.

Taualumna 01-05-2004 02:19 AM

Just saw previews for 13 Going On 30 and it looks interesting. I'm also interested in seeing Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights

bafromkc 01-05-2004 12:05 PM

anyone see big fish yet? im going to see it on friday.

MareImbrium 01-06-2004 02:22 AM

I saw Big Fish and it was a really awesome movie. For those of you who might not know already, the movie is coming out nationwide on the 9th.

MeLikey 01-06-2004 03:07 AM

I posted this in some other thread, but I went to the movie premiere of Big Fish with all the stars, and I love, love the movie. I didn't know anything about it, but I'm glad I went to it!

bafromkc 01-06-2004 11:17 AM

MeLikey - just curious, what did you like so much about it? characters? story?

UGAnchora 01-06-2004 08:20 PM

Well, this is the first I've heard of "The Phantom Of The Opera" as a movie. I'd heard rumors, but did not know that a movie was actually being filmed. I definately didn't know it is to be released this year. I definately want to see it, "Phantom" is my favorite. play.ever. I've seen it 5 times in Atlanta, one day, I will see it on Broadway!!

On to others....

The Butterfly Effect- dying to see this. It just looks really, really good. I hope I'm not disappointed.

Harry Potter- I love HP!!

bafromkc 01-08-2004 05:23 PM

Just saw the trailer for Miracle today, that new kurt russell hockey movie. It looks pretty good. Its too bad the coach of that team died this summer.

MeLikey 01-24-2004 08:09 PM

I just saw Win a Date with Tad Hamilton-- though predictable from the start, I loved it! I love Josh Duhamel and Topher Grace so I was torn between who I was rooting for. In the previews before the movie, I saw the one for the new Hillary Duff movie in which she plays a modern day Cinderella--looks cute.

I liked it mainly because of the ending-- I thought those scenes were so moving and I came away with a real message about how life should be lived to the fullest. I also thought the casting was excellent.

I just saw it. Pretty good flick. How cool was it to see Cameron from Ferris Beuller's Day Off. I just looked him up on IMDB and he is from Cleveland like me.

cuaphi 07-02-2004 02:00 PM

bump.

Before Sunset is out today. I'm a little too excited about this. I might need to lower my expectations so I'm not automatically disappointed. Still, the reviews are good. I'm just hoping half as witty and romatic as Before Sunrise.

tinydancer 07-02-2004 02:16 PM

I want to see De -Lovely starring Kevin Kline as Cole Porter. Which is strange, because I can't abide Kevin Kline. The music will be fabu, though.

GreenKappa 02-10-2005 11:51 AM

chideltjen 02-10-2005 12:30 PM

Don't know why, but I kinda want to see Hitch. I like Will Smith and Kevin (forgot his last name) seem like a good match up. A couple girlfriends and I are going out on Friday so maybe we'll catch it.

polarpi 02-10-2005 08:05 PM

A few friends and I are thinking of seeing The Wedding Date tomorrow night, but we also want to see Hitch...

I want to see Miss Congeniality 2, but only because I loved the first one, so I'm hoping it's a *good* sequel :)

And then can't forget (far in advance) Harry Potter 4! :D

GreenKappa 02-24-2005 03:15 PM

I want to add to my list

Ice Princess

I skated growing up so naturally I really want to see it - i think that the applying physics to skating sounds interesting as well - i wonder how true to form that is.
