When will you find out who you go back to?

We may not hear anything until this evening. At the UofA, the PNMs rank the sororities after the last party of a set (which was last night) and then are given their event schedules just prior to the first party of the next set. First party should be starting about now ( 9am MST). I wouldn't expect to see anything except bad news before 6 or 7pm (MST)

Speaking of guys doing weird/mean stuff to girls who are walking to houses during recruitment...My school has deferred recruitment (read: Indiana in January, BRR) and when I went through recruitment we had to wait outside the house with our PX before going into a party. Well, after a while houses started letting all of us PNM's wait in their front foyers because, aside from the cold, some guys had been driving around EGGING girls who were waiting to go inside the houses!! :eek:

This whole thing about frat boys watching and cheering on the girls reminds me of how rush at USC supposedly used to be. When I rushed, they told us that in previous years, the frat guys would bring out their ratty couches and sit on the front lawn RATING girls...like if she was really hot, a 10...Luckily that didn't happen when I rushed, but there were boys watching us walk up and down the row!!!

Well, a major thunderstorm rolled into Tucson about 6pm.

Sam ... were you'all done for the day or did you get caught in the storm?

Hope you were done .. .the lightening has been bad out here on the east side of town. At least it seems to be cooling off (a little)

It's funny you mention that.
There's been a running joke,
so to speak, about Pref night
and thunderstorms. Over the
years it seems that pref night
is met with thunderstorms.
So you see lots of PNM's dressed
in pretty black dresses, running
from house to house.

And my pref night was no
different. I was drenched and
had to run to my car...the thunder
and lightning can be scary.

I've heard stories from "older" (from the '70s and '80s) UofA alums talking about the dye from shoes running all over the place on pref night when PNMs got caught in the rain...

I really want to hear about Sams third day!! I'm curious if she went back to the same ones I did, cause we pretty much ranked the same houses. Hurry up Sam! I'm already here!!

Hello All!!

No, I didn't get caught in the storm-it barely started right as I got to my car- thank god!
So today we could go back to no more than 8 houses-I was asked back to 8!

The raspberry house: I didn't really like this house on the first day, but I talked to more girls today and clicked with them a little better. I still CANNOT see myself in this house, though.

The grape house: I really liked this house! The girl who picked me up had a lot in common with me which was good because talking to her was a lot easier! We made pages for books they were donating to their philanthropy and then looked at their awards. This house has won so many things! Their GPAs are always good, each member is very active on campus etc...This house wasn't my absolute favorite but I wouldn't mind going back tomorrow!

The apple house: This house was not in my top 8-the girls were nice, but it seemed like I was always doing the talking and the member never said anything. I definately did not fit in here either....

The pear house: Still LOVE this house! I was paired with another PNM who apparently knows everyone in this house so I didn't get to say much, but I was able to squeeze in a 'I'm so glad to be back' type comment. Again, all the girls were great-never a dull moment in the conversations!

The orange house: Still LOVE this house, too! Every girl I have met here is awesome! The conversations were good, I had a lot in common with the girls I talked to. I would love to go back to this house too!!

The plum house: Again, still LOVE this house. I can totally see myself in this house! I was paired with another PNM who knew everyone again, but I tried my hardest to ask questions and talk to the members. Definately want to go back......

The strawberry house: This house was not in my top 8 either. I really don't click with the girls here-even though they all seemed nice- the conversations were really slow-I just don't fit in.

The mango house: Another house that was not in my top 8. The conversations today went a little better, but not as great as I had hoped. The girls I talked to didn't seem very interested...

So tomorrow I can go back to no more than 5. Here is how I ranked them:

Top 5 (in no specific order): Orange, plum, pear, grape, raspberry.
2: Mango 3: Apple 4: Strawberry.

I'm very nervous about tomorrow! I really hope I get to go back to my favorite houses!!

Wow, it's so crazy that we like some of the same houses SO MUCH, then have completely different feelings about others!! It makes ruch even more exciting for me!!

And you're right. Every girl going through recruitment is in love with Grape!!!

Hey girls....not a good day at all.....:(

So today we could return to no more than 5-I got asked back to 3. Two have been my least favorite the whole time and 1 I love:

The strawberry house: I feel really bad saying this, but I do not fit in here. The conversations haven't been good, the girls are nice though. This house just isn't for me.

The plum house: This was the house I love! I got a tour today-they have an amazing house!! The girls I talked to are all great and sooooooo friendly! The skit was hilarious too! It was based around the osbournes. I really hope I get to go back tomorrow-if not I'm gonna drop out. I know none of you want to hear that, but its the truth.

The mango house: The girl I talked to today was way better than the ones I've been talking to. However, I still don't think I would fit in. Again, I'm just not clicking with them.

So, thats all I have to say. Tomorrow is pref nite and I really hope I get to go back to the plum house!

Hey everyone! I gonna keep this short since I really need to go to bed! Tonight went sooooooooooooooooooooooo much better! I got asked back to all 3 houses-

The strawberry house: First house of the night so I didn't know what to expect. The girl I talked to was nice and the ceremony was really cute. I still don't think this house is right for me.....

The mango house: I got to talk to a girl who I spoke with two days ago which made things a little easier. The conversation still lagged a little though. Their ceremony was okay, but the stories shared by the members were really cute! I'm still not feelin them......

The plum house: I LOVE THEM!!!!! Things at this house went soooooooo well. I walked in the door and was greeted by a girl I had never seen, but once we sat down she said she was so glad to get to talk to me because she has been hearing great things about me all week! The two of us TOTALLY clicked and had tons of random connections. She's a senior so the ceremony made her cry like there was no tomorrow. Not gonna lie, everyone in that room was sobbing after it was all over! I have such a good feeling about this house!!

Tomorrow is bid day, obviously. I meet my group at 4:30 and then open our bid cards at 5. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Damn, I gotta work tomorrow night. I am gonna have to wait till I get home (around midnight PST) to see if you will be dining on Plum pudding! Good luck

i am so happy today went a little better. hopefully youll see a bunch of smiling plums on bid day. please tell us as soon as you hear something. dont get me wrong have fun.....but just know we are here for you:D :D

WOW!! I can't beleive we went back to all three of the same house!! this means something we HAVE to get together. I was even at Strawberry first like you!! I loved Plum too. It made my decision very difficult. But it sounds like you know exactly what you want, so I wish you the best!!

Now, to both Tina and Sam (before I forget) - thank you both SO MUCH for giving us your insider report on the houses! It's so very refreshing to see that two totally wonderful women like basically the same houses, but prefered different ones. I sincerely hope that, whether y'all end up in the same sorority or not, that you two will remember this experience throughout college! It's very unique, and very special. And the very thought that y'all shared it with us makes us feel pretty special, too!
