The new episode hasn't aired on the west coast yet and luckily I didn't read any spoilers.

Someone I know in the daytime drama industry told me she thought the character development in the show so far has been too rushed. She pointed out the relationship between Marissa and Ryan as being rushed.

Tonight though I'm just glad to catch up after being out of the country for two weeks.

Next week's episode is the last one until the show comes back, on October 30. And it's moving to Thursday's at 9pm.

I adore Seth as I've said before... I really like Peter Gallagher too! I liked his line tonight-- yeah Summer's hot, and Seth's like no you did not just say that.

I was shocked when Marissa had sex with Luke. I mean it's sickening to see she was sorta pressured into it at an early age. She's sixteen on the show but seventeen in real life. Hopefully the younger audience sees the negative motivation behind her doing it.

Can't blame Ryan either for having some of Seth's potential grandma. He's been hungry for at least a kiss for a long time.

Marissa is supposed to be sixteen?!?!?! How did I miss that!!!! :eek:

Yeah she's young. In real life girls that young give in and lose it that early as well but still it's too young.

it's going on a brief hiatus so that way fox can air the world series.

I really hope that by some twist in the storyline, she didn't really sleep with Luke.

I am LOVING this show! We have our Tuesday night ritual and no matter what everyone else is doing, they all come up to my room at 9 and watch The OC with me and my roomie. We had like 10 people in here last night!

Ohh... Adam Brody! I am OBSESSED. I loved him on Gilmore Girls and I love the fact that he's actually a MAIN character on The OC! He's hilarious and so cute in that dorky way. He reminds me SO much of John Mayer... except cuter than JM. :) I still don't see what the big deal with Summer is? She's gross. Seth rocks.

Benjamin McKenzie (who plays Ryan) is also a cutie. He's gotten hotter over the past weeks also. I still can't believe he's 24 and playing a 16 year old, though!

I HATE how Marissa says "hey"-has anyone else noticed that? She drags it out and says it in this monotonous voice with a little Valley girl thrown in. It's definitely fun to imitate, though!

Edited to add: yes, this show is still stereotypical and I'm not feeling the negative references to the 909, but since everyone in my office watches, what am I to do? :D

Yeah all the stereotypes makes me wish the show was called The Newport instead.

I was wondering about Luke being there too. and I really hope that she didnt sleep with him but yeah did u see that hair when she got home...total sex hair lol grrr anyways I dont know what im going to do w/o my weekly dose of my OC while its not on.

in a newspaper article, they said that benjamin mckenzie acts just like his character. he's quiet and a loner. an actor could only get so lucky.

i'm still wondering where the token black family is. every show has at least one character of characters.

My favorite part tonight was Seth and Summer having breakfast together. I love Seth! :)

Nichole: basically in this episode, Marisa's dad is moving out. He isn't going to tell Marisa until she gets back from TJ, but Seth's Mom convinces him he needs to. Then he and she are painting Marisa's Dad's new home....and He kisses Seth's Mom.

Seth's Dad is being wooed by a law firm. A cute girl that he used to work with is there and he ultimately accepts the offer and is no longer a public defender.

Marisa officially lost her virginity to Luke. Marisa and Summer are planning to go to TJ with all their friends. Seth and Ryan are telling parents that they are going to a comic book convention but they actually go to TJ. Their car breaks down after summer and seth get into a fight on the road, so they are all forced (Marisa, Summer, Ryan, and Seth) to stay at a gross hotel. Then they get to TJ and Marisa sees Luke kissing Holly (I HATE THAT ho soooo much). She is devastated and takes the painkillers that Summer got for her stepmom with a shot of alcohol. She then blacks out in an alley.

That's pretty much all that happens !

OMG! I hope shes going to be ok... look at me its like its real life lol Are there any more episodes left or do I have to wait till the fall lineup crap starts?

I just read the episode synopsis on the fox site and it mentioned my university. Apparently Luke screwed a couple UCI chicks....hmmmm maybe he's got an asian fetish then. UCI is 60% asian.

Sandy accepted the offer?!? Obviously I missed that part. How did that happen?

The cute girl that was interviewing convinced him that he could do more pro bono work with the firm than without it.

I forsee some cute law girl/seth's mom tension in the future.... cute law girl totally wants Sandy

WHAT HAPPENED TONITE??? THIS IS A CODE BLUE! I NEED TO KNOW!

hhmm.. i was watching it while on the computer.. so here goes some details.. maybe someone can fill in more..

starts off with ryan and marissa making out in his bed.. they plan on going on their first real date that saturday.. seth's mom comes in..

then it goes to seth and ryan/marissa and summer talking about things happening between them and the date stuff at school..

well plans change for the date when marissa's mom wants her to go to this charity thing.. marissa wants ryan to go with her instead to this..

ryan one night sees marissa's mom and his grandfather kissing then him coming inside her house with her..

seth asks that girl from pittsburgh to the event.. summer gets jealous..

at the event ryan tells marissa about seeing her mom.. summer starts having feelings for seth.. she ends up kissing him and telling him that she likes him.. marissa ends up calling out her mom about her relationship..



there is more in there.. they will play it again tomorrow night.. i know i left stuff out but this is a good portion..

it looks like seth is about to start dating two girls, should be interesting

Aww Seth is finally getting some girls. Although I think he should really open up his damn eyes to Anna since they do have so much in common and yeah he may have liked Summer since he was like 10 but oh well not that I have anything against her or anything cause she does have a good side sometimes but yeah Anna is just much better!!! Ok Im officially addicted to the OC now lol

I just saw an exclusive preview of next week's episode of the O.C.
It looks like their is a love triangle between Anna, Seth, and Summer. Basically it's on Thanksgiving and he's hooking up with Anna in the bedroom and Summer in the Poolhouse. Every few minutes he makes up some lame excuse like checking on the food to switch from girl to girl. OMG I CANT WAIT TO SEE THIS EPISODE!!

On a side note, Chris Carmack (AKA Luke on the O.C.) is going to be in the Abercrombie Catalog....so excited!!!
