while visiting my best friend, I got to have a tour of the Alpha Phi house at Indiana University in Bloomington...
http://www.indiana.edu/~alphaphi/images/tour1.gif http://www.indiana.edu/~alphaphi/images/closehouse.gif Although apparently it is one of the smallest GLO houses on campus! I love the IU campus...and I got to go to Little 5 which was mighty crazy, I only wished I went to IU! |

To answer your questions about Indiana university...
The Alpha Xi Delta house holds about 115 girls I think. YES, its HUGE and really nice, but the problem is that they have to fill out it...so...live outs arent allowed. This may seem like a small thing to some, but after a while, its nice to make the transition from college student to the real world, and in most houses, seniors usually live out. In fact, a lot of houses have a live out/senior house somewhere on campus so brothers and sisters can still live together, but in a smaller setting. I think the AOII house holds 120+...AOII rose will have to correcct me on that. I know that they originally wanted to build it LARGER but the university made them make some architectural changes and they ended up making it a little smaller then they wanted. That house cost $4 Million dollars!!! |
Pretty close! We house about 108 girls! That is correct...the intention was to have the house bigger, but we had to cut some things out. We have an elevator inside and we are the only greek house on campus with one since this is new requirement.

Here are some of my other favorite houses at Indiana University
Kappa Alpha Theta: http://php.indiana.edu/~theta/Thetahouse.JPG (oldest sorority house on campus!) Alpha Delta Pi (2nd newest sorority house on campus...behind AOII) http://www.indiana.edu/~adpi/adpihouse.JPG Kappa Delta http://www.indiana.edu/~kds/images/house.jpg Acacia Fraternity (HUGE HOUSE!) http://www.indiana.edu/~acacia/images/frontpan.jpg Sigma Chi One of IU's oldest houses...this picture doesnt do it justice :( http://www.indiana.edu/~sigmachi/alumnipic.jpg This was actually AOII's OLD HOUSE! They sold it becuase it was too small (holds 80 girls) and it was too far from the rest of the greek community) http://www.informatics.indiana.edu/i...building/2.jpg Phi Delta Theta (Better known as the "Castle") http://www.indiana.edu/~phidelt/images/castle.jpg There are others, but I've wasted too much of my time posting these pics. Delta Delta Delta, Pi Beta Phi, Beta Theta Pi and Kappa Kappa Gamma also have beautiful houses! |
THe houses at IU are gorgeous! I was there in May for UIFI and stayed at the ADPi house. It is so beautiful! I was lucky enough to get to drive around the campus and see most of the houses. They are all beautiful and the campus is amazing!
