1) First Name: Vivian
2) Chapter: Online Xi 3) Status or Degree: Pledge 4) Why you joined (or are thinking about joining) Beta: I first found out about BSP two years ago from an older woman in the Texas area. At the time, I never even connected BSP with typical collegiate sorority life, so I just shrugged off the option. I later went to college and did recruitment because I was looking for a group of girls that could inspire me to accomplish great things while gaining treasured memories and friendships. I'm going to be graduating from college soon and moving around. I've enjoyed my time as a sister of AXO, but I also want to find deeper sisterhood in an organization that has active reaches beyond the collegiate world, especially one that holds cultural enrichment in such great importance (that was, admittedly, the main reason why I wanted to join). BSP sisters seem so caring and enthusiastic; I really want to meet ladies who can be my friends and mentors for many years later. 5) Anything else you want us to know: also member of Alpha Chi Omega (social sorority) and Alpha Kappa Psi (professional business fraternity) |
Welcome to my fellow sister Miriverite!

I'm thinking of doing a FV of a land chapter around here in a year or two...I'll have to remember that you did one Erica and follow up with you!

In a few year or two I may try a friendly venture of my own here in Boston. According to the international BSP site, we used to have a chapter here (Massachusetts Laureate Beta) but I think it's now defunct =(

2. Nevada Nu 3. Pledge (eligible for ROJ...but waiting until my sisters in chapter are eligible for ROJ as well before progressing.) 4. I wasn't a fit in the Social GLO's on my University campus for many reasons, but really had a strong interest in making friends and serving my community through a GLO, and I appreciated Beta Sigma Phi's history and spoke to someone from my past in Southern California who I had no idea was a Beta Sigma Phi and what she told me about her experiences and how she's grown as a person and a woman as a member of the organization made me fall in love. I'm so happy to be a Beta Sigma Phi! |

Nice to "meet" you. |
Erica,
Thank you for your reply. Its been ages since I have use this format for chatting so need to pick the old brain for knowledge. Maybe we can get this old site going again? I sent you a friends request so we can chat more often. I think it is great that you have been in sorority for 17 yr and also in our online chapter. I remember when they first started, I was in one but it never kept going. What are some of the fun things the online chapters are doing? Our chapter is getting ready to hold our area brunch in Dec. We will have a vendor showcase there for those that would like to do Christmas shopping. Thanks for creating an signature. It helped me create one for myself. Sisterly, |
I have a daughter named Charlotte. I absolutely love that name!
Our chapter is very active. We chat with one another daily. We have "Topic Tuesday" and "Photo Friday" to help keep conversations going. We meet once per month for our chapter meeting, and at every meeting, we have a nice program and social. We give to a charitable organization every year, and we are in the process of choosing our organization for 2020. We have a "Special Sisters" program instead of "Secret Sister" because it would be hard to be anonymous using the mail. The post mark would give it away! :) |
