i definately plan to see this movie.

every time I hear "pirates" I'm reminded of valkyrie's cute pirate kitties :)

I am FINALLY going to see it tomorrow night! I'm so excited!!!!

okay I saw it and it was AWESOME! So much fun! I haven't had that much fun watching a movie since -- well since my second date with my high school boyfriend -- AND since seeing Indiana Jones. Johnny Depp was just amazing in it, I couldn't take my eyes away from him. Which is odd considering how very very lovely Orlando Bloom is to look at.

apparently there are a ton of references to the ride in the movie. Did anyone catch them?

It was a great movie!!!! I loved every minute of it and the two and a half hours flew by! Orlando was amazing and so cute! Johnny Depp was so funny and perfect in the role. I was surprised that I really liked the story too. I thought it would be purely an "eye candy" type of movie, but it was good!

I know, it was such a good time. Johnny Depp's entrance was amazing. I loved how proud he looked on that ship and then when we went to the wide shot...

My BF and I were cracking up nearly everytime he was on screen. Geoffrey Rush (the evil captain) was excellent as well. All in all its a perfect summer movie.

Is it really 2 1/2 hours? Phew. Felt like 20 minutes.

I sat there and laughed my ass off during the references to the ride(that is my favorite ride at D-land and I used to have an annual pass so I would go to ride PotC and leave.

examples of references:
-parrot saying"Dead men tell no tales."
-the scene in the prison with the guys trying to get the dog to bring the key.
-the guy sleeping with the muddy pigs
-the song "Yo ho yo ho, a pirates life for me..."

And those are just the ones that I can remember right now...there were a TON!

There were a few scenes, during the raid, where they showed men chasing women and women being sold. Those street scenes also echoed the ride.

I finally saw this movie. It was excellent! A great mix of humor and action. I would definitely go and see it again. Another reference to the ride is of course the cave where they kept the treasure. That's very similar to the ride at Magic Kingdom.

So, i've been waiting for this movie for MONTHS, okay? I LOVE Orlando Bloom...I swear, I'm borderline obsessing. Anyways...

2 of my sorority sisters wanted to see the movie with me for my birthday(July 6), but I was in Florida. Since I promised I'd see it with them, I had to wait for them to come visit! They live in Atlanta, I live 2 hours north. They FINALLY made it today!!

My thoughts exactly!

ORLANDO WAS SO HOT!! Especially all dressed up at the end!

Johnny Depp/ Jack Sparrow was great!! You know, he kept you guessing. I wasn't really sure who's side he was on till the end!

Kiera was really pretty and did a good job in it.

Ok, I LOVED This movie! I definately want the DVD for Christmas!

When the movie trailers first came out, I thought it was going to be as corny as that movie "Ghost Ship", but after seeing it yesterday, it is definately something I want to buy on DvD when it comes out!!!

Orlando Bloom and Johnny Depp are such hotties!!! Did you see People magazines sexiest man alive thing with Johnny Depp?! If a guy that old looks that hot in dredlocks, that is impressive! Wow! But (in real life) I personally think he has a bad sense of style. He is so funny in the movie! And Orlando Bloom......mmmmmm! "...a pirates life for me!" "But why is the rum gone"

towards the beginning when the pirates are invading the port town, Elizabeth burns one of the pirates with the coals in the hot plate and he said they were hot, etc.


... then, when she is on the ship and the captain is explaining that they can't eat anything, feel anything, I started thinking... "if they can't feel anything, how did the pirate know those coals were hot?""

did i miss something in the movie?

Hmmm...well I would think that injury-type things have SOME effect on the undead pirates, since something like throwing an axe in one's back and such does slow it down for a while.
And technically...they *can* eat things. Like when someone (the captain?) was drinking rum and it just came splashing out of his ribcage. They can eat things, as in put them in their mouths and swallow, they just can't/don't digest them.

Arggh! The title for Pirates 5 will be "POTC-Dead Men Tell No Tales".

It'll partially be set in New Orleans, and Johnny Depp and Geoffrey Rush will be back! No other actors are set yet.

And it's not coming out until summer 2015. Arg. :(

One question (and not even a question, a word): WHY?

I didn't see #4 because I heard it wasn't that good. At some point they need to just stop.

But then again, Disney is looking at their "proven" money makers and considering that The Lone Ranger BOMBED this summer and the fiasco that was John Carter, they need to do something.

But they just needed to stop while they were ahead.

I was afraid to see #4--I thought they might ruin it. However, it was good! I heard they're bringing back some of the people who weren't in 4 but were in the rest and that's super!
