I live about 20 minutes north of Joliet, so I was so excited that Adrienne won. This is local girl made good stuff.
I actually wound up watching most of the shows, and I was impressed with the variety and the types of women they had on the show. I have to admit though I was getting a little tired hearing about her accent. I don't think it was that bad...I've heard worse on the Metra going home every night. For the record, yes, she has a strong Chicago accent. I'm guessing she's lived in the Chicagoland area her entire life...how is she supposed to speak? With a French accent? With a southern drawl? |

It sounded like she was talking with her jaw wired shut. It annoyed me to no end in the beginning, but it started to grow on me by the end. She's been working on it lately, too.
Her accent became a problem during the FreshLook commercial. She had a hard time saying "passion" without her accent coming through. The director had her try it several times and she wasn't ever able to lose the accent when saying the word. But, I think that's the only time her thick Chicago ACCENT (not her tone) was a problem. |
Maybe I'm just used to hearing people speak that way, but I still don't think it - her tone, her accent, whatever - was that bad. If you guys want to hear really "tonal" Chicagoans speak, the next time you're all in Chicago I'll direct you to a few places on Western Avenue. Word of caution: don't wear anything with a Cubs logo on it. Still, I stayed with the show from the first episode, so accent/tone bashing aside, it was pretty good summertime tv.

Damn, I missed the last show because I was out to dinner with my cousin and his wife in NYC. I'm kind of disappointed that Elyse didn't win but Adrienne was my second choice so I'm glad that she won. :)

Season 2
Did anyone watch the new season last night?
As mean as it may have been that the other girls didn't wake up Janicia (sp?), I believe it was her responsibility to get herself up in the morning if it were that important. How can you sleep through an alarm clock and 11 other girls getting ready?! My favorite so far is April. She has a really exotic look to her and she seems to be the most down to earth. |

I watched last night. There's already alot of drama going on. I agree that Janescia (what's up with that name?) should have been responsible for waking up on her own. I was cracking up during her little tirade. She was about to slap one of those girls. I'm glad she didn't get cut. And I'm glad they got rid of Anna. Didn't she watch last season? She should have known they might have to pose nude. Janice's reaction to her "Christ-like" comment was too funny. So far I like Shandi, Janescia, Xiomera (crazy names this season). But I could do without Bethany and Camile. They're both so full of themselves.

love, Love, LOVE this show!! I cant' wait to see how things progress. I have no idea who will get it, but I know who I can't stand. This is so much more entertaining to me that Survivor.

Funny, when I watched last season I thought that Janice Dickinson was just a HORRIBLE BITCH! But I recently finished her autobiography and after that I seem to have a better "feel" for the way she acts. She's very outspoken and tell-it-like-it-is in the book, but she's also really funny and acknowledges that she's honed the bitchy exterior in response to things that have happened to her in the past (including some pretty stomach-turning abuse at the hands of her father).
I actually think she'd be really fun to hang around with (but still, I wouldn't want her judging my person on national tv!) Someone tell me what night this new season is on, please? |
Tuesday night @ 9pm

I'm still laughing at Jay Alexander's comment to Xiomera: "Girl, you walk like you on crack". And then when the other judge said she looked like she was "possessed"....too funny. I still don't like Camille. Too much attitude, especially when she talked back to the designer. I like Shandi, but I think she should have gone home this week. She can't walk. Next week's episode looks even more dramatic than tonight's, if that's possible.

I met Ebony yesterday at the DC Black Gay and Lesbian Pride festival. She was on a panel discussing gay marriage. I never saw the show, but as a person, she didn't seem "harsh"....just long-winded and self-important.
She's prettier in person, btw. |
